"Kepler - 25/10/828"

I am caught speechless after today's events. Events complicated enough to make you unable to analyze what happened and render you unable to react.

Kepler.

We were contacted by an Order ship earlier today. ^{(//Order|CV-Nekhbet)} The agents did not wish to identify themselves, but they did let us know that we've fought together against the Nomad threat in the past - more specifically in the Omicron Nu system - and after a brief introductory chatter we were informed that the Kepler system has seen a significant amount of Nomad interest and activity lately. At the moment of the transmission, there was no Nomad activity in the system - as the agent informed us - so the Akhetaten did not head there for a patrol, opting in to having the patrol done later this evening.

At twenty-one hundred hours we received intelligence that the Kepler system was sparking with activity so the Akhetaten was quickly deployed from Manhattan's orbit. Initiating our cloaking device, we entered the system and it seems that we arrived late to an on-going party involving many individuals which will be thoroughly listed following this pause.

After an uneventful period of time a nameless individual begun broadcasting to the local communication channels, moments before the area would be swarmed with various Nomad forces ranging from snubcraft to cruiser-sized forms. The Akhetaten worked together with the Forty-Sixth fleet and every other pilot in the vicinity to take down all of the Nomad forces, succeeding while suffering minimal damage and no casualties. It should be noted here that the warforms we were attacked by were using weaponry that consisted of beam-type lasers dealing a large amount of damage to anything they came in contact with, weaponry that I have only sighted once before, in Alaska. Once all warforms were destroyed our supporting snubcraft as well as most other individuals present headed to Ames Research Station in order to resupply. The Aurora, Forty-Sixth's research ship, permanently evacuated the vicinity.

Minutes after the incident, the group headed back towards the three anomalies where the Akhetaten flanked by Dayvon Bennet and a Nomad followed.

The nameless entity that had, likely, called in the Nomad reinforcements earlier, lured Ridge ^{(-Attachment Entry 04-)} into the center of the anomalies where a rift was opened, leading to an unknown system. Ridge disappeared in an instant from everyone's scanners, leaving us to wonder what had happened to him. It was then that many followed in order to find the so-called scientist. All ships that followed Ridge into the rift have been listed in the above summary and in the attachments below.

Forty-Sixth's gunboat, Dauntless, got trapped by the anomalies as it ventured closer to Bennet, along with the Akhetaten in a failed attempt to save him. We put in a significant effort and managed to get the Dauntless out and away from the increased drag-zone that the three anomalies created.

Having seen enough, I ordered the Akhetaten back to base. It should also be noted that Hawkins must have some sort of involvement in the incidents that took place at Kepler. Ridgenose ^{(-Attachment Entry 08-)} seemed to have mentioned her name in a way which suggests that the Unto.Nightfall's CO and as such the entire ship itself has some sort of connection to these events. That is a matter that would still require further intelligence which we lack at the time.

Below will be attached, aside from the individual-related reports, two recordings of some of the events that occurred in Kepler.

Entry 01 - Holly Baker

Holly.Baker. That's one individual that according to Noel Tizona is not fit for being part of the Libertonian Armed Forces. The reasoning is quite unspecified but it seems that the officer is very into firing torpedoes your way for absolutely no reason. I'll have to look into that myself, I'll just need to remember that callsign.

Not much to report about that individual as I have not met them myself.

Entry 02 - Ridge, The Order, Tizona's role

Dayvon Bennet seems to have figured out a sort of plan in order to figure out Ridge's and the Order's intentions. He found out that Ridge is being offered shelter by the Order which he considered something senseless considering Ridge has been hanging out with Revenant who the Order shot down recently, and it's no secret that she's one of their biggest enemies. In addition to that, Bennet seems to know that Revenant is still alive after her most recent engagement with the Order, something which the Order does not know - complicated situation if you ask me.

The Order has been acting up -a lot- over the past few weeks, if not months. I'll have to wait for Bennet's information regarding Tizona's "spying" duties to see which way this is going. Perhaps it'll bring us a step closer to understanding what the hell is going on in Kepler.

Entry 03 - Lea Kaufman

Bennet has suspicions that Kaufman is a Rheinland spy and has told Tizona to keep an eye out on her. Apparently, according to Tizona, Kaufman has close ties with the Rheinland military and occasionally meets up with their head. It would be wise if we all kept an eye out on Kaufman and stayed vigilante when around the individual.

Further intelligence will be required before making a correct assessment on Kaufman and her intentions.

Entry 04 - Michael Evans

Bennet has also been suspicious about Michael Evans, the individual behind the "Traveller" Camara-class vessel. He believes that the individual is a nomad sympathizer, something which Bennet has not yet gathered any solid proof of. For the time being, I'll remain neutral towards Evans. Surely Bennet will figure something out soon enough.

Assessment

Both Bennet and Tizona appear to be trustworthy individuals who's advise should be valued. Evans, Kaufman, The Order and Ridge are suspicious for their own reasons and any contact with them should be done in vigilance and with careful treading. Revenant is a top priority target and terminating her should be a primary objective.

Subject: Insurgency and the Akhetaten's status

The intelligence we were provided with by the Liberty Security Force regarding a possible invasion by the Insurgency on Liberty's rear guard played a very important role today. Had we not been warned, the Akhetaten could have been destroyed right now, or even worse, captured by the Insurgency.

On to the events themselves; during a regular patrol around the system and in the checkpoints between Planet Mojave and Planet California Minor the Akhetaten and her escorts were intercepted by an Insurgency squadron. We immediately contacted the reinforcements that were stationed at Planet Los Angeles, our distress call being swiftly responded to. The Insurgency however did not arrive unprepared; upon disrupting our lane and almost at perfect timing with our forces arriving, a much larger Insurgency battlegroup emerged from within the Whitney Ice Field.

With an Osiris, an Arbiter, an Overlord and numerous battlecruisers and cruisers shooting at us, our chances of survival were worryingly low. We begun maneuvering towards the Cataclysm, leading battleship of our reinforcing battlegroup, seeking cover from the enemy firepower. We managed to reach the Overlord's position, sustaining considerable damage in the process. During the engagement, the Insurgency assets were deadlocked into taking down the Akhetaten, with all of their forces focusing their firepower on us while our own fleet was doing it's best at distracting them and hitting them from their flanks.

After a rough fight, the last of the Insurgency's forces were wiped out, but the cost of 'winning' that showdown was far from insignificant to the Akhetaten. With multiple hull breaches and fires across the majority of our decks, a non-functional cruise drive, damaged navigation systems and various engine failures, we barely made it back to Norfolk in one peace. Human casualties as of this point are estimated to be within the dozens, with the engineering crew paying the largest death-toll. Recorded injuries are in the hundreds with bridge officers, senior officers and CIC personnel all included in the list.

The damage that was inflicted to the Akhetaten is severe and it will take us a considerable amount of time to recover from such a blow.
