Guten Abend Officers,

as per Admiral Schaeffer's orders, several Rheinwehr vessels have formed a temporary Kampfgruppe to aid the Gallic Navy Combined Fleet in Zurich. We received a transmission from them and called in all available craft afterwards.

On our own way to meet up with Admiral Schaeffer, we encountered a medical vessel, well stocked, which offered its services to the Rheinwehr.

Gathering in Cologne, sector C4 near the Zurich jump gate, last preparations were made. The Büro der Marineintelligenz aided us in this endeavour, having sent Kpt-R.Muller, who in turn called in a second Oder gunboat to the fleet. Informing us about reforms regarding their own organization and the desire to, from now on, be more in line with all of Rheinland's law enforcing entities.

Having received coordinates, sector 4C/D, both fleets continued their journey while awaiting direct positional data of the hostiles in question. They, however, had prepared an ambush. Several Unioner cruisers used the nearby Bern Field as cover and attacked. Bulk of the fleet kept our capital ships secure, while the rest hunted them down. The Sprotte remained with the L'Audacieux and the Greifenstein, securing the vulnerable back of our forward detachment. Nothing dared to poke its head out of the Bern Field under our watchful eye.

Conclusion of the battle - the Richelieu had been disabled, few Unioner ships managed to escape. We swept the immediate area, then returned to our respective borders.

Guten Abend Officers,

the Donau cruiser 'Ostkantone' informed me about Unioner and Corsair activity in New Berlin, after which i aided its crew in sweeping the system once more.
We turned up empty, however. The Ruhr- and Saarfeld received special attention, but yet again the Junkers kept their secrets to themselves. The Saarfeld apparently houses a base, carved into an impressively sized asteroid - we kept our distance to it.

New Berlin Search

I recalled my last encounters in the Frankfurt system, so we extended our own search patterns. Part of the Weissenfeld, more precisely the area surrounding the previously discovered jump hole there, was examined to no avail. Passing through the Hausenfeld and up to the Konstanz Wreck, we took the trade lane to Battleship Schwerin. Not far from there we spotted a Corsair pilot. Strangely enough, there was another frequency - but no ship on any of our scanners. We suspect the usage of a cloaking device, but have no conclusive evidence so far. Oberleutnant Werner Roth joined us shortly after the unknown frequency potentially went dark - or ceased entirely. Ostkantone secured the perimeter, in case the frequency was a bigger Corsair vessel in hiding. Meanwhile the Oberleutnant and me engaged the Corsair, which proved to be extremely capable. Having taken out Oberleutnant Roth's ship, i kept her busy just long enough for the Ostkantone to tractor his pod. Afterwards i was ordered to retreat - with a barely holding hull. Venting atmosphere, i headed back to Battleship Schwerin for much needed repairs.

After my repairs i decided to look for the unknown frequency again, during my search i came across two Corsairs in Sigma-15. One departed immediately, but the other remained. And, to my surprise, had an offer for me. I did not trust this proposal at first, but entertained the idea nonetheless. At least wanting to hear what a Corsair of all people had to offer. Well aware of article five, section three of Rheinland Law, i never intended to actually accept. After hearing his proposal and performing a full scan, i changed my mind. I do honor our laws, but i value the life of brothers and sisters in arms higher than my own career. The Corsair, calling himself Cesar, wished to see fifteen Bundschuh pilots taken care of. Wanting them sent to prison as a punishment for their 'crimes' against him. The two Rheinland pilots were part of this deal. Allowed to go free, if i agreed to take the Bundschuh pilots. Which i then did. Cesar kept his word, gave me both Rheinland pilots first - followed by the fifteen Bundschuh ones. We parted ways after that - not a single shot was fired during the encounter. I kept the Rheinland pilots and the Bundschuh pilots separated by keeping the latter ones in the main cargo hold, while the two Rheinlanders received a spot behind my sealed cockpit and the main cargo hold. With all access points locked, we made our way to New Berlin. As i did not entirely trust the whole exchange, i deemed it more safe to bring them far away from a potential Corsair ambush or followup operation at our borders. Somewhere safe for thorough investigation.

Guten Abend Officers,

i made a troubling discovery in the Ruhrfeld. During a routine patrol, i picked up a large energy reading coming from sector B4, heading to C4 and Kreuzberg Depot. Upon further investigation, it turned out to be a Coalition vessel of considerable size. It kept its comm channels silent, no reaction to me hailing it. I relayed my findings to the system fleet and an MND agent i met earlier - but help arrived too late to investigate further. I lost the Coalition vessel near Kreuzberg Depot.

Taking position at Essen Station, i decided to scan and question incoming or outgoing travelers for potentially helpful information regarding the sighting, without giving away troubling details. Nothing connected to the Coalition ship could be found out, however. I met a Bounty Hunter, a Freelancer, a Junker and a Kruger transport. All their cargo and equipment was in order. Even the slight damages on the Kruger vessel were nothing more but irradiated scratches from their last trip.

Essen Station

Returning from Essen Station empty handed, i came across MND Agent Franz Mueller at Wildau Station once more. He had prepared for his venture into Omega-52, so i offered to follow along up to Omega-7, Elbe Border Fortress. For a second time now, the MND alluded to their restructuring.

On my way back from Omega-7, i took the long route over Omega-11 in order to secure Daumann interests there. Offer potential aid if required and ensure safe passage to anyone in need. I did encounter a Gaian transport in medium proximity to Solarius Station and kept my eyes on it for an extended period of time, but no attempts on any nearby transports took place.

My patrol ended hours later in Stuttgart, as i was investigating something with the Bounty Hunter 'Lock'. Two Unioners, a gunboat and a bomber, ambushed us not far from Ulm Border Station and the Omega-7 jump gate. My flight recorder was damaged at this point, the majority of data ruined.

Guten Abend Officers,

during a routine border patrol with Leutnant Schmidt, we encountered a Liberty Rogue gunboat in sector E5.
Kapitänleutnant Hans Klein joined us quickly afterwards, in order to level the playing field a little bit. Yet we were still quite outgunned. Due to our combined efforts, the Rogue kept a greater distance to the trade lanes in the system. While we stalled for time, a more evenly matched vessel was en route. A Bounty Hunter's Guild gunboat, captained by Hitman Lock.
Together we drove the Rogue back to some sort of hidden base, where it escaped us. We were not able to verify its location, due to heavy fire from said installation and its weapons platforms.

Having returned to the Hamburg system, i was about to catch up with Hunter Lock. To his and my surprise two more Hitmen showed up. Briefly we talked about a "Bustard" Carrier of theirs and potential options of that in Rheinland space. I refered to the House Laws as well as the Oberkommando in that case.

Not long after, however, their and our enemies appeared as well. A Hessian and a Unioner, a peculiar combination. Mayhaps merely a coincidence, still troublesome nonetheless. The Unioner kept mostly quiet, later turned out to be the Leipzig again. An already known gunboat from previous encounters. The Hessian was new to me. His words were not, something we have heard countless times.

After the Hitmen, an MND Agent and me took care of the issue at hand, a Corsair crossed our path. One of the Hitmen was still hunting the Hessian, who apparently escaped during that time. I saw no point in chasing the Corsair and leaving the highly frequented sectors around Planet Hamburg less defended.

Just as we were about to find out what happened to the Hessian that Hitman-47 hunted, ... a most confusing scene happened. I can only describe it as someone having been completely out of their mind. A pirate approached the immediate area surrounding Planet Hamburg, got chased away by the sector fleet... only to later disrupt the very same trade lane he already had his eyes on prior to that. He had a few hostages aboard, talked about collecting taxes and a whole host of other nonsense. Lock took care of it after we received reinforcements from local Polizei forces. Once more, that Corsair showed up. After the pirate vessel was sufficiently damaged and we could secure the civilian and Bounty Hunter's Guild pilot, i decided to sweep the debris fields around Planet Hamburg for the Corsair, but came up empty.

during a standard patrol of the Hamburg system, in order to protect trade lanes and Rheinland interests in the area, i spotted a Liberty Rogue. The Rogue possibly came from the Nordheide, passed Altona Station and headed for the New Berlin jump gate. A Synth Foods transporter i scanned only minutes before this encounter signaled for no help - so either the Rogue ignored it or did not cross its path.

I pursued him shortly after taking notice of his presence. He was quick to jump to New Berlin, refused to cooperate as expected and stalled for time. He evaded me mostly in New Berlin and Frankfurt, but i managed to track his signature up to Munich. There, however, i lost him unfortunately.
Instead i came across two larger Corsair vessels, a battleship and a cruiser. They used the dark-matter storm near Raubling Station to mask their activity - i relayed my findings to a nearby battleship of the Rheinwehr in this sector. Being vastly outgunned i retreated shortly after having given proper locational data to the Unsichtbar.

With me hot on his heels, his charade did fail more and more. His course was set to what later turned out to be a jump hole to Frankfurt, hidden away in the Schwarzwald Cloud.

The second time for an unfortunately unsuccessful attempt at disrupting the ships cruise engines. With my proximity advantage ruined, all i could do from this point onwards was following to see where the rest of his route took him. Which was the Hudson system, yet another jump hole somewhere in the Sitka Field. Further than that i was not willing to go. In spirit of cooperation with the Bounty Hunter's Guild, i docked at Manitoba Station to inform them about the latest smuggling route of the Liberty Rogue i followed. Not a minute after i left the station, i ran into a Liberty Rogues gunboat. Their operation must be quite tight-knit. Without any support against it, i opted to leave the system and report my findings so far.

Guten Abend Officers,

after having ended my escort duty in Omega-7, i encountered the 'Bastion'. A Bustard carrier of the Hitman Agency, subdivison of the Bounty Hunter's Guild. It was stationed in sector C4, keeping an eye on trade lane interruptions and other unwanted incidents. Another one of theirs, Hitman-82, appeared not long after. Followed by a Herr Schnitzel from Kruger and Frau Caitlynn Cross from Orbital Spa & Cruise.

It was an unexpected reunion with some familiar faces, others were new to me. What we all had in common, however, was the surprise as an AI approached this gathering of ours. It proceeded to mainly scan the fighters present. Hitman-82's and mine. Communication attempts were made by it, not all of it was immediately understood. The exchange ended with hostilities originating from the AI towards me, to which Hitman-82 engaged it as well. The Bastion ensured safe possibility for OS&C to retreat, Herr Schnitzel from Kruger followed this example a bit later, too.

My craft was taken out by the AI, fortunately the Hitman Agency tractored my pod in, provided first aid and brought me to Planet Stuttgart for proper treatment.

He was on his way to inquire about the state of affairs with Rheinland's bounty contracts and the overall state of the board, as he had been made the new Guildmaster of BHG. Having found me, he seemed content to instead talk to me about it. Referencing a prior communication, that was not yet taken care of apparently.

While we were talking about the possibility of him accompanying me on my patrol, to get a bit more familiar with the territory of Rheinland, a Freelancer was spotted. His transport, a dubious vessel at best, carrying an impressive amount of cargo. He was instructed to very carefully unload that at a nearby docking station. Hitman Lock appeared on the scene not long after.

Returning to New Berlin, i explained the importance of the Ruhrfeld for several unwanted organizations from within and outside of Rheinland - Unioners, Golden Chrysanthemums and even that Coalition battleship. The latter two seemed of considerably more importance to the new Guildmaster.

As an interest in the Sigmas was mentioned earlier, we took the jump gate to Frankfurt and deviated from the lane network near Planet Holstein. As it turned out, Sigma-13 was known already - and for Sigma-15 the time was no longer sufficient. We therefore headed for a rather remote Freelancer installation in Sigma-13. Newport Station. The Guildmaster, codename 'Sundown', departed, while Lock and me stuck around for a short while longer.

Monitoring access to Frankfurt, nothing out of the ordinary came up. Bootsmann Fischer joined us after a while in the Sigmas, he too found nothing of note on his own patrol. A distress call was relayed to me, hailing from New Berlin system. The three of us plotted a course immediately, combed the system but came up empty - no sign of who sent it or what was the cause of it.

After regrouping near Planet New Berlin, a Hessian dared to enter Rheinland sovereign territory. The terrorist and pirate was subsequently attacked by Bootsmann Fischer and me, managed to take out Fischer's craft and severly damage mine - then decided to take his leave. Bootsmann Fischer was safely tractored aboard by Lock, while i docked at Oder Shipyards for repairs.

Pirate and Molly kept their distance and merely observed, while the Hessian took out one of the Hitmen shortly after i had undocked. This particular pilot proved to be impressively capable and disabled my vessel in the end, too.

Several hours later, back in New Berlin, i was on my way from Essen Station to Planet New Berlin and noticed a unique signature on my scanners in sector E4. Leaving the trade lane, i investigated closer and found a lone Nomad.

It kept moving in an area between trade lane and the white giant, creating more and more distance to the lane network. As it did not fire immediately upon me, i used this chance to wait for additional forcess and observe whether there were more Nomad ships - yet none arrived in time.

The Nomad began communicating with me and, as far as i could make that out, intended to 'play', 'swim' or do something similar. Alarmed and concerned all of this was nothing more than a trick, i prepared for inevitable combat the moment the alien ship began to glow more.

We traded blows for a while, it gained the upper hand - most likely due to whatever it did to my head - but then, to my surprise, it stopped firing and ceased to glow. Instead i sensed a feeling of reunion and encouragement, before the Nomad vanished quickly. With greatly damaged engines, i took the way to Oder Shipyard on impulse speed.

This additional time was used to inform Rheinwehr medical personnel about my encounter and the need for extra caution. I do not wish to bring danger to my House, therefore i insisted to be taken in for extensive medical and psychological examination immediately.

Guten Abend Officers,

after returning from Hamburg, i spotted another unfamiliar signature near Planet New Berlin. A Kruger vessel was present during this incident as well. The unknown ship kept about 10 klicks away from the main traffic hub and observed. Before i could approach it for further investigation, first a Technocrat vessel and then, not long after, two Unioners appeared. To not give either of those two parties an unwanted opening to approach Planet New Berlin and nearby stations unhindered, we held our positions.

They kept their distance, as did the unknown ship. With a mere back and forth of words, both Unioners decided to leave rather than toss away what little kept this from going south.

As i had expected, a Unioner gunboat was picked up by long range scanners only a short while after the previous two had left. No doubt banking on us having taken the bait of its allies earlier on. With us still guarding Planet New Berlin, it immediately altered course and steered clear of sector F5.
The Nomad, on the other hand, proceeded to close the distance by roughly four to five klicks. My instruments started to show all kinds of readings, as its glow increased considerably ... only to subside again. About to issue orders to drive it off further from sector F5, to not endanger civilian and commercial traffic, it began to glow a second time and then simply vanished on the spot. We presume it was using some sort of jumping technology, but its small size left us rather puzzled as to how this is possible in the first place.

Guten Abend officers,

my name is Oberleutnant Habermeyer.
Regretfully i have to report about something i could not ignore. During a conversation between two Hitmen, another Rheinwehr soldier and a member of the Polizei close to Planet Berlin, i noticed a disastrous lack of tact in regards to treating the image of one of our law enforcement branches. That being the Polizei - therefore this report is addressed to the KPR as well.

Allegedly acts of bureaucracy are taking up enormous amounts of time, armaments are not issued on time and documents either get lost or never reach their intended destination. Not only is the public image of a branch of Rheinland's law enforcement weakened by open statements like these, especially coming from a member of said branch, but if these statements are indeed true, then i fear for the security of the area this particular department is responsible for.

I have encouraged Herr Neuer to file a formal complaint addressed to more than just his direct superior this time. Should there be a lack of professionalism somewhere in the chain of command, i see it as my inherent duty to the Kaiser and all his subjects to root out and help quell this sickness. For a healthy and strong Rheinland.
