I rarely pay my attention to Discovery or any other mod of that game (except Revival), so I wasn't aware of what's been going on with Vitoniz for the past year.
This news made it clear what finally happened to him. It shook me and others as I had known the man for a long time and the realization that he is no longer among us takes its toll in the form of sadness.
For the record, Vitoniz was one of the creators of collective that, some time later, I myself became a part of. Already after his departure we were able to reach heights that we never dreamed of, and so I and about 25 others mourn this loss.
Надеюсь, ты теперь в лучшем из всех возможных миров, Веталь. Покойся с миром.
I never thought or suspected that I would log into the forum to honor the memory of my old friend.
There are neither words nor strength to describe the infinite sadness from this news.
I hoped to the last that you survived, even if you could have been captured.
Once you bought me a delicious beer, which we enjoyed in "Mama ne goruy" pub near Darnytsia metro in Kyiv together with Oleksiy.
From that moment on, I owe you a beer. I will repay you in the next world.
I, and our Atrum Exercitus team, bow our heads in sorrow before you.
Me and our that-old-nomad-collective bow our heads to William Storgen and his Nekhbet-team.
You've already been in hell, so there's only one place left for you.
Best regards. You have done a lot for me. Even more than I deserved.
Герої не вмирають.
--- I have only a request to the administration or the creators, if it is possible and does not offend anyone - please find the strength and opportunities to perpetuate Vitoniz's legacy by placing the battleship Nekhbet on the orbit of the capital of the Order, as a memorial to his titanic work in the Discovery society.
Vitoniz was one of the first players I met in the game. And although I was not very familiar with him, I respected him and considered him a person who really did a lot for the community, and this news, like many others, tears me apart. Rest in peace, I hope you are in a better place now.
Слава Україні!
It took me entire day to come up with something to say about it. It took hours for it to actually hit me, and I was simply unable. Entirety of Tuesday I felt guilty for even trying to fake a smile. However as I knew and understood him, this is not something Vito would want, and I've put my mind together. I will still miss him.
Vitoniz was a friend and my primary motivator in this game. He never talked badly about anyone even behind their backs. Always humble and thinking least about himself, and more about others and community as a whole. This is also the reason why he joined with military I believe. Protect others, even at his own expense.
The Order had voted to give him a honor guard this friday late server time in Omicron Minor. Order private ceremony only, indies are welcome as our faction wants to mourn Vito as his special place in Discovery. As we understand that not everyone has Order ship or perhaps wont make it on time for the first event, we will do the very same thing following in Conn where everyone will be invited. We ask not to intrude or crash any of these events for simple human decency. He meant a lot to a lot of players and lets pay our respects with dignity.

I can't say that I (knowingly) spoke with Vito or his characters much, but there's no doubt in my mind that he was a great man. Nobody deserves this. Fuck war.
