Alright, I can see this will be a bigger thing. It might be for the best if we do some more serious planning in that regard. I'll have a look at the production lines and do some estimations. I'm sure the gearheads on-site will be absolutely thrilled to have some bureaucrat they have to explain everything to looking over their shoulders.
But you're right, we'll need longer term work done for our ship industry. I'll try to collate usage and attrition stats from whenever pilots bother to fill out after-action reports, crunch some numbers, and slap them on the appropriate desks.

REPORT: Engagement commenced in the vicinity of the Fort Severn ruins. Enemy force were not cooperative and prepared to fight, likely expecting resistance upon arrival in Ontario. Enemy force composition was indicative of a small force geared towards destruction of an irregular unit, not a structured militia. With Patrol Unit capability being underestimated, the enemy force was gradually eliminated starting with apparent op leader Alan Jones. The last ship standing was Cotton's Defender which had been struck by a Shredder launched by ALLCOM. The survivor was permitted to extract themselves under escort - Commander's discretion.
ADDENDUM: The crew of the Mourning Star, its captain, and Blacktail have been awarded the INDOMITABLE ribbon.
ADDENDUM 2: Excessive rumours regarding ALLCOM vaporizing a gunship. Requesting verification from pilots present.
Effectively immediately, redeploy from the Pennsylvania front to Leyte and start emptying the cargo of ships bound to or departing from Cordova. The Milford Wendigos will take over your role in Pennsylvania, so don't get all melancholy about leaving the Erieanites on their own.
Transports full of platinum are passing by Colorado lanes, looks like something's going on in the Kusari border, I almost caught this Rheinlander... sending data. He was kinda lucky, lucky enough to get his ass saved by a Rogue gunboat and another gunboat from the so called 1st, working together... Such a time to be alive. My ship is pretty chewed, but it will be operational in no time.

[A battered Midian stood before the camera. An array of sophisticated tools intended for video and audio editing were neatly arranged on a wooden table. The majority of the video message lacked any solid context for about ten minutes, merely showcasing bloody hands wizarding away and editing all that has transpired in Ontario.]
[His departure from Fort Ramsey. A fiery arrival in the middle of combat against impossible odds to rescue one Fighter (XA-Mourn) from the Technocracy's hands. Caught between hammer and anvil, Midian fought with frenzy one technocrat after another while slowly depleting his resources until his Longsword finally caved in from the wounds. Hey. I don't know who to forward this to exactly... It's going to all sound a bit nuts. Or you will perceive it as the genius I think it could be. The following is a classified request to LFR High Command.
I'm Jimmy Predsman, I used to work for the XA logistics before I got locked up. I've been out of slam a couple of months now and a lot has changed. I don't have much hand in combat these days, but I'm the guy that makes sure you've got enough Black Market Munitions to go around when you're stuffing those hellfire rockets into those pods on your ships.
And now that I'm out, I've been looking for new opportunities to advance the Liberty Free Republic. And I think I've found one.
It's no secret that Toronto Station has been abandoned for some time, or that the Junkers have parked up a Sally in the wreckage to deter others from scavenging the station to pieces. I've done a few fly-bys of it now and can see the main hulk of it is picked clean of any useful modules. While it could be repressurized eventually, it is beyond the Free Republic's resources to attempt such a thing.
However there is something of use that may have been overlooked as station debris, something the Junkers have left to drift away. The orbital refinery has drifted several clicks from Toronto Station, and is currently in a degrading orbit around Planet Huron. It appears to be largely intact, if inactive. Calculations suggest it may last another few months before entering the upper atmosphere and being destroyed.
I propose a heist. Using the current orbit trajectory of the refinery, there is a possibility it could be towed out of its current geostationary orbit and through the Georgian Ice field to Blezard Valley with a pair of hegemon mining vessels or similar transports with high inertia capabilities, ships that are able to shunt ice asteroids out of their way or break them up as to not cause too much damage to the refinery during the tow.
Then it could be used to process the spoils of unrefined ore we normally reluctantly jettison or blow up.
While the surface mining of Blezard Valley will take time to establish and configure, and would take months, perhaps years before significant yield is achieved, this goal is secondary to the main purpose of stealing the refinery. Choosing Blezard as a location for the Refinery simply means it will eventually process ore from multiple sources and won't need to be relocated again.
Immediate use could be made of it processing unrefined ore that is often seized by our activities from foreign entities. The situation of having to dump or destroy these high value goods would change if we were in a position to process the ore into salable ingots to more easily fence.
Additionally, Blezard Valley has long been a veritable goldmine of untapped resources, and the only reason Deep Space Engineering had left it alone was because of our immediate presence. Let us seize what they could not, and in time reap benefits from that as well.
Capturing the refinery and utilizing it for stolen ore is just phase one of this plan, I would also need to make several trips in atmosphere-rated freighters to Huron to collect compatible surface-bound mining equipment abandoned by DSE. We may also need some quantities of Counterfeit Software to reactivate the refinery and resync the mining equipment once it is in place. Such a venture is the long term benefit of this idea but is not the main pressing reason for this proposition.
This heist could pave the way to providing resources directly to Fort Ramsey and allow the Xenos to refine hijacked ores without external assistance, or even those mined locally such as the Copper deposits in Coronado. This would provide a steady income to a faction that has long had to toil and fight for every resource, every gun, every scrap of asset. We could finally birth our own enclosed economy, unreliant on external influences of those that think they are our betters.
And so I come forward to the Liberty Free Republic leadership with this idea, seeking sanction and permission to proceed, and perhaps some assistance to perform this plan.
I may no longer hold the rank I once had in years gone by and am currently designated as a Volunteer. That said I have great and proven experience in days past of similar escapades for the Xeno Alliance. I await your response humbly, but hopefully.
A routine patrol from Ouray to Fort Ramsey to blow the dust out of my Havoc's engine bay this shift turned fruitful as I intercepted a Freelancer IFF'ed Pirate Train full of Industrial Materials in Colorado. It said it was bound for Freeport 53 but with all the new stations popping up recently I decided to run some protection just to make sure it was going where it said it was going, and escorted them to their destination.
No threats were issued, nor required. I did however request a small donation to the Free Republic coffers for the protection we offer, and was not disappointed.
I've received a report from one of my crews, who were working salvage in Ontario on the White Sands. They met with a Bristol ship that was scouting out the area, apparently they're considering setting up shop. Obviously, that might lead to competition with 53, which might conflict with our agreement to protect their market position. I don't know if they're planning to further pursue this, but the crew suggested that they could send a message up the line. Maybe there's an agreement that can be worked out.
So if there's a message from Bristol about this, don't be surprised.
[02.04.2024 19:12:28] XA-White.Sands: Hey, a Bristol ship. Welcome.
[02.04.2024 19:12:41] Cherokee-1: Well I'm out, gotta take some rest, see you later
[02.04.2024 19:12:47] BCV-Stalwart: Thank you, This is the Stalwart, we were looking for Xenos in the area actually!
[02.04.2024 19:12:47] XA-White.Sands: Later!
[02.04.2024 19:13:03] XA-White.Sands: Well, you found some! What can we do for you?
[02.04.2024 19:13:15] XA-White.Sands's cargo is now full.
[02.04.2024 19:13:36] BCV-Stalwart: Well we're on a surveying mission here, looking for new locations. We'd not want to step on your toes, though.
[02.04.2024 19:14:05] XA-White.Sands: Locations? Everywhere's a location, buddy. Locations for what?
[02.04.2024 19:14:48] BCV-Stalwart: Oh well business talk. Sorry. We've not found any fresh mineral deposits anywhere nearby so we're looking for alternatives.
[02.04.2024 19:15:25] XA-White.Sands: Well you'll find plenty of minerals here, except they're all alloyed in the metal bits floating around.
[02.04.2024 19:16:02] BCV-Stalwart: That's fine. We've found a suitable location near the Toronto wreck. And that existed to mine near the planet.
[02.04.2024 19:16:33] BCV-Stalwart: We don't worry about the Junker presence here but we'd rather not claim your property.
[02.04.2024 19:17:12] XA-White.Sands: We don't have a proper legal framework set up here, but you should be more worried about stepping on the Freeport's toes.
[02.04.2024 19:17:55] BCV-Stalwart: Is that advice or are they having deals with someone who could muscle us out of here?
[02.04.2024 19:17:55] XA-White.Sands: We've got a solid arangement with fifty-three. They make a lot of useful stuff for us, and we have promised them-
[02.04.2024 19:18:11] XA-White.Sands: we'd keep an eye, and maybe a muscle, on the competition.
[02.04.2024 19:18:20] BCV-Stalwart: Ah. More than advice.
[02.04.2024 19:18:54] XA-White.Sands: If you want to work out here, why not just arrange with them too?
[02.04.2024 19:19:02] XA-White.Sands: It's a Freeport, everyone can come and go.
[02.04.2024 19:19:07] BCV-Stalwart: We'll take your opinion seriously. If Toronto is a no go, I'll not risk sending a construction crew in here.
[02.04.2024 19:19:08] XA-White.Sands: You can set up shop there too.
[02.04.2024 19:19:33] BCV-Stalwart: Well we profit the most on our installations. Hardly expect Zoners or whoever to share their hard built work.
[02.04.2024 19:19:45] XA-White.Sands: Just ask if you can open a branch office on the station, they'd probably allow it.
[02.04.2024 19:20:21] XA-White.Sands: They pay good money for our scrappers and ice haulers, like my crew.
[02.04.2024 19:20:50] BCV-Stalwart: I don't doubt that but I am to specifically survey more solid locations for a new installation. Bering isn't going to--
[02.04.2024 19:20:54] BCV-Stalwart: last forever.
[02.04.2024 19:21:34] XA-White.Sands: Yeah, I dunno. You can ask the boss man, but I think he'll tell you something like that.
[02.04.2024 19:21:51] XA-White.Sands: That Fifty-Three's plenty to serve this here area in terms of salvage operations.
[02.04.2024 19:22:06] BCV-Stalwart: If we stay in the area, we'll meet the person in question?
[02.04.2024 19:22:56] XA-White.Sands: Probably not, unless he happens to be on flight. He's a busy man.
[02.04.2024 19:23:00] BCV-Stalwart: We'd be well open to offer the same as we do in Bering. Considering the area's resources, probably almost the same product.
[02.04.2024 19:23:22] XA-White.Sands: Feel free to ask.
[02.04.2024 19:23:46] XA-White.Sands: Just, we got a good deal going with 53, they probably won't like the competition, so chances are we won't like the competition.
[02.04.2024 19:24:08] BCV-Stalwart: We'll stay in the area and try our luck then. Thank you for the information. We'll see how it goes.
[02.04.2024 19:24:18] XA-White.Sands: Anyway, I'm on the clock here, I need to do actual work.
[02.04.2024 19:24:40] XA-White.Sands: So to speak, I'm not actually on the clock,obviously.

Hey,
Ember here. We have managed to scrounge enough resources to get a few fighters and bombers into Roanoke's hangar bay. As per my deal with the Commander, these birds are to be piloted by the Alliance personnel should the situation in Ontario get too dicey. You're free to board my ship anytime we moor at Ramsey.
By the way, we have new Bristol neighbors in the system. They've set up their shop near Huron so the greasers and Rogues may become more aggressive once they find out 'bout it.
PS - Does anybody know a reliable group who could take a look at our cloaking device? It's pretty old and faulty by now.

The Navy seem to have stepped up their patrols recently. To that end, I'm requisitioning a Condor class gunboat in order to keep them from getting too adventurous. Regardless, I'll continue doing my job.
