On a personal observations level, i have seen exactly two instances of roleplay involving Aegis in 4 months. One was a pre-organised event kinda thing. And the other was a solo fighter circling our group of damaged caps in-mission while waiting for others to log.
In perfect honesty, itd be nice to see more from Aegis. Actually roleplaying and an extra slash command doesnt count either. Im not sayin you should talk with those you gonna kill all the time, or that you should forsake killing for rp. Just do more interacting. Like, in the presence of someone you arent gonna be shooting, talk to them, make idle chit-chat or something about maybe rising levels of crime in (insert system name). As a bounty hunter, even adding some investigative tracking of a possible target would be pretty cool.

Good luck on your drive to Officialdom though.
I've no relation to the faction but I believe I still may insert my five cents for an insight, as I believe there is a certain lore bit that nullifies your argument: majority of Bounty Hunters are coming from the criminal communities they are now hunting and, as you may have guessed it... Bounty Hunters are not exactly loved for it, they know all about the internal workings of a group they came from and use that knowledge to hunt their targets. When a criminal and a Hunter meet out in the field they have no good will for each other whatsoever and each sees the other as prey.
History of the faction gave them very little chances of chit chatting with their victims as we frequently see Hunters hounded with little quarter and slain by any means necessary. So my point stands. They will kill, without remorse, and use any methods, no matter how crude and cruel.
This is their roleplay, not lion playing with it's game kind of deal.

As the former leader of a previous attempt to found a similar group, I find this perspective laughable.
We specifically outlined in our faction announcement that we wished to have encounters with good RP while we escorted traders and offered base protection services as well.
The response from the unlawful community of seal-clubbers was to routinely and openly counter-log our convoys with capships and destroy us with bare minimum RP of the /1, /2, Fire! variety. As in, a Frigate, a gunboat and 2 transports attacked by 2 cloaked cruisers for example.
There's nothing that will bring out Disco's toxic Aceholes like anyone trying to have some RP while escorting traders and giving them any assistance against our resident sociopaths.

If this is, in fact, still an RP server (about which I have my doubts) "our RP is to not have RP and be feral killers" is sophistry and anti-logical nonsense. Many of us are here to RP and have fun doing so. Saying it's ok to not perform more than minimal RP only to avoid breaking rules before firing and believing that people should be OK with it is directly equivalent to saying that Disco is now strictly an RP server and PvP is banned except to fire 2 shots and say I win.
And how would that go over?

However there is a key distinction between disrespecting a faction's lore, by claiming you are the sole representation of what the entire faction is like (which Aegis isn't doing)
And having your faction, which is a /part/ of that faction, have its own individual roleplay that differs from the norm.
Aegis could very simply be poster boys meant to look a lot better to the rest of Sirius to secure deals with nations, and contractors, while actually being some of the worst criminals to ever live. Or, they could be genuinely good guys who do no wrong. So long as they don't claim that their roleplay, and faction, is the sole truth of what Bounty Hunters all over Sirius are supposed to be. That's fine.
To draw a parallel, my character Hemlocke, leader of the Liberty Rogues, does a lot of things that aren't very rogue-like, and in some circumstances, noble, at the end of the day he is still a piece of human garbage that kills people for fun, but I never claim that Hemlocke is the ideological perfect image for what a rogue is supposed to be. Because he breaks the norm, and isn't a "true" rogue.
Nor do I claim my faction represents the whole of the faction or its lore, because (especially with the rogues) it is not possible one faction defines ALL of the npc faction, it is a representation of itself, until it tries to claim itself as the gold standard and purest representation. Which Aegis has not done.
So while you are right regarding Bounty Hunter lore. That isn't applicable to this circumstance.
We have, perhaps slightly overdue, updated our Information Page. This will be reflected in our request shortly. We have also decided to make a publicly available Aegis Discord, should you wish to join.
Likewise, in the closing days of our request, we would welcome any feedback over the last few months, be it positive or negative.
A faction with good potential and leadership, though saddled by some OORP biases and the typical "secretive" member disclosure. Good luck on your officialdom!
