Prior Preparation... New York, Sigma-13 Trade boost event H-Fuel, Side Arms
DATE & TIME
Oct 8 2024 - Oct 13 2024
(Config and rule updates active from Oct 12 - Oct 13)
OVERVIEW
Something has Liberty spooked. Bumper orders for H-Fuel have been placed by Liberty's government, military and corporations - for the Gas Miners Guild this looks like a firesale that is bordering on mania. Not one to look a gift-horse in the mouth, the Guild has begun diverting deliveries to fill this unusually voracious demand while production is ramped up.
In return, the Guild has stocked up on Detroit Side Arms, to better equip its security personnel for checkpoint inspections and ship boarding - both important elements of their campaign to persuade the outside world that their grip over the Sigmas has not weakened in recent years.
Of course, Liberty has a motive for this seemingly irrational hoarding.
Liberty's political leaders seem resigned to there being an inevitable confrontation with Kusari, whether militarily or otherwise. The sword of Damocles that has long hung over the Republic is its reliance on foreign imports, something Kusari exploited to its benefit during the embargos caused by the Trade Lane Nationalisation Crisis of 500 AS. Since then, Liberty has hardened its supply lines and developed a network of strategic reserves to create a supply buffer should a conflict with the other Houses arise again.
Despite this, H-Fuel remains a dire strategic vulnerability. Liberty had been exploring a range of options to try and relieve this concern, however unsettling intelligence briefings provided by the LSF have honed Liberty's fears to a razor-sharp point. President Hawthorne has issued a sealed executive order diverting black budget funding for the construction of the Eielson Strategic Reserve in Alaska - the largest H-Fuel stockpile to date.
Of course, market movements of this size are conspicuous, and worried murmuring is already spreading through the Colonies. DETAILS
Incentives:
The price of H-Fuel is boosted at Norfolk Shipyard ($183 - 12csu), Buffalo Base ($175 - 10csu) and Fontana Freeport ($189 - 10csu).
The price of Detroit Light Arms is boosted at Gas Miner Naha ($123 - 12csu) and Newport Station ($112 - 10csu).
All Liberty corporations will receive an additional $15 bonus on the sale of both commodities at Norfolk and Naha, respectively.
KOI and Hogosha will receive a bounty on kills of liberty corporate ships in Bering, Galileo, Hudson, and Sigma-13.
Rules:
KOI and Hogosha will be able to engage in piracy against liberty corporations in Bering, Galileo, Hudson, and Sigma-13.
They can give NY and California to Rheinland since rheinland dont uses H-Fuel anymore, or be settled to Gallia as their engines uses Promethene, but i like this boosted earning events, as those help me with my bankruptcy and to refill by certain amount the pockets were almost empty due my high credit usage (and to pay to banks of course) my huge defficit in credit income) jsjsjs
But just an insight, Gas Miner Naha despite being GMG base main H-Fuel productor, sells higher H-Fuel Price than Newport by about 5 credits...
How that could be possible? Werent the GMG bases providing the best price for her item? It is kinda weird a freelancer can offer it cheaper than a gas miner producer of it...

GMG hold a monopoly on the market and are able to set it at whatever price they want. They have no incentive to lower prices as they have no direct competition. For them, price gouging is preferable. Newport is likely undercutting it with wildcat h-fuel or h-fuel sourced from other areas for cheaper, enabling a sort of gray market.
I really hope this isn't just a tease and we do in fact get a war which gives frankly content-starved House militaries something to do. The event seems cool and it'll probably generate a nice chunk of activity in an elsewise neglected area, which I'm here for.
Starting from the next restart, Liberty corporations will receive a bonus to hauling the event commodities, but will also be in the sights of KOI and Hogosha pirates who will receive a bounty for their destruction. These details are updated in the main post.
Please remember that normal piracy rules are still in effect - don't ask for too much and don't engage if your demands have been met.
Is the event only counting H-Fuel bought from Gas Miner Naha itself? Because it's cheaper to collect from local PoB's but doesn't give me the "You have joined Event" message like buying the Munitions did.
