Doc listened carefully as Dr. Hope spoke. He felt a small feeling of relief as it sounded like they were willing to give him at least something which was better than nothing.
"Rest assured, Doctor, that this research will be kept quiet and on a separate file system than our main frame," he explained. "For some of our more secret stuff, we keep it isolated. I do not need to explain how hackers can be and how houses or even groups can "force" someone to grant access to files. Fortunately, this has not happened to us as of yet and we try to keep it that way."
He then continued, "Understand this. I started this research years ago when I had a young woman who had experimented with cardamine "for kicks" as she explained only to learn she was infertile as a result. I do not feel that the stupidity of youth should be made to pay a lifetime debt of consequence for a moment of bad decision. Only those who wish the treatment and to participate will be treated. You have my word on that!"
He had never heard of Tennstedt. "I no nothing of Tennstedt, Doctor. I have my own secure facilities but perhaps expanding that would help. If I can make a difference in just one person's life then to me this is a worthwhile endeavor."
They echoed In unison, both in inflection and rhythm, even right down to the cuts on their helmets microphone.
"Tennsdedt is within the Void's system of Thuringia. And if you know little of that place then I hope you don't gaze into the keyhole of Pandora's box, granted her secrecy is not what it used to be since the civil war. But it has allowed us Thuringians to make an agreement with the Platform to still let us call that fragile frontier... Our home. While she may not be Weimar, I think that station has guided us closer to our henotheistic search to synchronise with the the Void and the vessel she provides... And more importantly, allow us to help find our acute place within Humanity."
"You're always so ominous...""Sorry, life of riddles."
"We work with our most sensitive operations concerning extra-stellar activity and intelligence, so please understand our deflections in the matter of its operations and history. But what I can say is the station hosts the eyes and ears within the Platform, it is where the 'Damnatio Memoriae' call for home for the time being. If work were to take place there, I assure you it'll be in the hands of those with 'eyes in the dark' and know how to keep a secret."
"So that leaves networking our systems together for the matters of expedited research. I'll admit the idea does leave me somewhat unsettled, but that's merely an old instinct of security to our own systems that I'm willing to overlook... Although maybe that's enough to convince you of our efforts to maintain seclusion."

He listened about the networking. It was as unsettling for him as it was them with all the medical records he kept, all of which were private and encrypted. Still, there was someone out there who was more than good enough to bypass it and find access. For now, he didn't want to let opportunity pass.
"I am no expert in networks and security systems but perhaps a private, heavily encrypted channel between our peoples would help. We both have classified information we value so it is the only way I can think of," he explained. "To be able to do our work and share things in regards to what we have discussed would be a huge plus for us both."
"Lastly, just out of curiosity of Thuringia, I may send a scout ship out. We keep hearing about it but have never seen it. Would this be an issue?"
"I see we're a little more curious now... Thuringia is a restricted system by word of Rheinland law, and in the most rare of circumstances the Bundschuh are in agreement too. Things that have happened there are not suitable for human civility as it has certainly asked us to shed much of that in favour of survival within that fragile region of the Void. It retains much of the secrets Rheinland has tried to keep at bay for the sake of stability in Sirius and to stop us from becoming tools of evil once again... As I've told others that have wished to venture with us into our home, if you're not with us, then the MND or the forces of corruption may ensure that you never leave. We unfortunately bring the same to those that fail our quarantine procedure..." He seemed remorseful on that part, his head lowering, fingers tightly clasped between each other and unable to look the good doctor in his eyes.
"We don't take too kindly to visitors ourselves and it generally means I need to run another emergency quarantine check. But maybe in due time we can see about a scheduled visit as long as you can spare brave enough souls to endure the trip. I understand that a civilian doctor has a modus operandi of 'Do No Harm' in the teachings of their philosophy of practice... Its a place where even that becomes a forgotten or blurry tale. In terms of stellar wonder and advancements in the field of astro-physics. I am curious... Why would medical specialists come to seek the darkest depths of the Void?"

"I respect your position on Thuringia," Doc answered. "I will respect your space. Why am I curious? Well, we are researchers as well so we dabble into science among other things. But, as I said, we will respect your space. In due time, I would like to set up a scheduled visit." He thought a moment. "Perhaps the brave soul would be me but time will tell."
He shifted gears a bit. "I think our meeting has been productive. You are getting what you need. Fortunately, it is not a huge quantity so it is manageable and you understand what it is I am trying to research and may assist where possible. Am I missing anything before we adjourn?"
"Not to worry Doctor, while our space is sacred, its not what you do to it that we are concerned about. its what we have to do to you once shes had her way with you. But I'm sure the security of our people would be enough... We've unfortunately had some attraction with local agency assets in the system with other visitors so you better work on your alibi." He joked, although he knew that the time was coming where Thuringia would have to open its doors again, and some would have to face her harsh reality... It didn't make it any easier to look forward to. "Well--!" He stuck out his hand, a gloved palm slightly upright and open to secure trust. "Once again thank you for these life sustaining supplies, I once found it the norm to alienate those linked with this 'narcotic', but who am I to demean someone suffering under a health crisis? I look forward to working with you... I might have someone close to us that I can query to obtain an immediate sample for research, although I think they will need plenty of convincing if trails were to ever emerge."
Doctor Hope had already stood up and held the collection of Data-Padds under her arm and against her waist. Whilst she placed a pair of her fingers to the side of her helmet and seemed to command the release of the rooms security seal and opened the doors to the rest of the station. Although all while doing this she was patiently watching how the physical interaction with obvious focus.
