The reference I made to the KNF and BHG ships shooting each other up was just in passing. There are some messed up things happening around the place, not all of them sensible.
There is a rumour on Deshima about the BHG hunting Blood Dragons in Shikoku, and the fact that there are so few BHG in Deshima that there is little competition for the jobs.
Gernally speaking the BHG zoi as far as I can see is Liberty and Bretonia primarily, with some presence in Rheinland (but strangely no station in Rheinland space). Then there is the Core, which is Omegas and Omicrons. Oh and the NPCs who are allowed into Alaska in fleets of destroyers.
But it would seem a little ridiculous that a pirate would report you to the Kusari Naval Forces/police if you were helping a trader in Kusari space, wouldnt it? I now drive a BH BS(which i like very much ), and am now mainly sticking to the outer systems (nomad, omicron, omega etc). Is there any outer sectors where going in as a BH is a big no-no:nono:? BTW: I wouldnt be entering any of the pirate guard systems, that woule be suicide:wacko:
' Wrote:Kusari does not like outsiders. <snip> I'm not exactly sure on the chronology, but Samura either founded or twisted the Hogosha to suit their needs and conveniently remove anyone disrupting the Kusari way of life. Or Samura's business monopoly- in other words, anyone who spent too much time in Kusari and wasn't important enough to merit a full investigation, or anyone who disrespected Kusari traditions.
BHG are the closest thing to "disrespecting Kusari traditions" made into flesh (and battlecruiser) outside of the Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysanthemums. Remember, Kusari has pride. Lots and lots of pride. The BHG represent a network of dishonorable ex-criminals who betrayed their own kind for cash. They also represent the idea that Kusari's protectors are inadequate- a thought most Kusari consider about as 'blasphemous' as a Rheinlander denouncing the authority of the God-Chancellor. It doesn't help that almost all BHG are foreigners.
If I recall correctly, Kusari didn't originally allow them to operate in their space at all. However, Liberty, being the corporate sellouts they are, eventually 'persuaded' Kusari to let them in. Most likely the Kusari gov't got sick of outsider scum pestering them and figured it was more honorable to let the BHG hang around in Shikoku and beat up other outsiders (LR and LH most notably) than entertain the annoying Liberty lobbyists. As for entering Kusari space as a BHG, don't. Lawfuls probably won't shoot you, but the Hogosha and FA will certainly be alerted to your position so you can be removed without major diplomatic incident. However... keep in mind that by carrying a BHG ID, your character has signed a contract with the BHG. Anything you do reflects on the guild as a whole, and violating an agreement the BHG made is a breach of contract. To save face and appease the p/o'd gov't looking for an excuse to kick the BHG out of Kusari, you would likely be either A) publicly ejected from the guild, B) publicly ejected from the guild then quietly handed to the Kusari gov't for 'processing', C) publicly executed by the guild, D) publicly denounced by the guild, and quietly have you pay a bunch of fines and other whatnot, most likely ending with you getting your name changed. Those are in the most likely order from A to D. Keep that in mind. EDIT: Whoops. That was the 'medium' version not the 'short' version. Sorry.
TL;DR
Kusari REALLY DOESN'T LIKE THE BHG. They also hate everything you stand for. If you go into Kusari against the way their deal was setup, you will likely be handed to the FA or Hogosha, and if you survive that the guild will publicly do something suitably nasty to you to keep their contract. Don't do it.
And if the idea of flying a BHG cap into Kusari (even Shikoku is a bad idea, though the consequences aren't quite as severe) enters your head, get rid of it. The lawfuls wouldn't bother to talk, they'd just blow you up then file a rather hefty complaint with parts of the wreckage attached. If you survived, you'd probably have a warrant for your destruction handed out to every lawful in Sirius, and a 10-100 million bounty from your former friends to top it off. Have fun with that.
Read that again, should make things a bit clearer (assuming the pirate was of Kusari origin- which is my guess since so few people who don't work in Kusari bother to read the Kusari Legal Code or learn the tangled mobius strip network that is Kusari politics).
What type of pirate? You do realize that the Hogosha and FA are basically Samura's knives in the dark, and since Samura controls the government, it is completely reasonable for these "pirates" (considered lawful in Kusari unless caught doing something bad, like cardamine or shooting KNF- killing Gaijin is totally fine if the KNF are out of scanner range) to get their boss's other weapon (the military) to help enforce a lawfully binding contract that they really like. Keep in mind, a BHG ID'd player waltzing into Kusari proper is a breach of contract and law roughly equivalent with a Liberty Navy officer trafficking cardamine... but with punishments being Kusari style, not the liberalistic crap that Liberty lets you off with. Think Singapore, where they cane you until you're half dead for key'ing someone's car.
Sovereign put it quite nicely. If you're still kind of confused at the FA's or Hogosha's role in Kusari, speak to me in pm's and we can take care of that. Otherwise, just listen to Sovereign...

[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
You simply look at wher BH NPC's are.... and go there.

' Wrote:The systems i pass through are not guard systems, i sometimes escort traders through from Sigma-13 to Kyushu (using Chugoku and Hokkaido), can i do this, and is there a concrete set of 'zone' rules for BHG that i have failed to find?
In decent roleplay a bounty hunter and trader shouldn't even know that Chugoku exists. Simply put is it meant to be a secret known only to the dragons. The fact that everyone and his wife, kids and third cousin twice removed use it as a highway annoys me no end.
Go the long way. It may not be as quick, but the trade route is still really good, and its better RP. Please just stay the hell out of systems you shouldn't even know exist.
one has to decide to what to stick to - vanilla diplomacy and lore - or disco diplomacy and lore. mixing both in the very same setting does not work well. if we adhere to the idea of everyone being considered an "outsider" in kusari that is not a kusari cooperate employee or a member of the warrior caste - then we have to consider really everyone that enters kusari to be in the same mold. ( mercs, generic IDs, other house cooperations, zoners, pirates - everyone ) - when we uphold the idea of the "pride" over everything, there is also hardly any friendship or trust with others. - so that no generic merc could "claim" to have a right to be there, cause he initiated closer bonds to the kusaris.
what we are missing is the real situation in kusari concerning unlawfuls. - i don t think its anywhere down in the lore if kusari is stable, unstable, endangered or secure. when its about liberty, there is some lore about the libery forces not being able to uphold the safety around the jumpholes and jumpgates - thats why the vanilla liberty navy employs the BHG, cause they can patrol the gates and jumpholes. liberty *needs* the BHG - a reason they were founded there. - however... disco tells us that the BHG are - well not as welcome as they should be, - but recently much more welcome than 2 months ago.
Kusari suffers from two professional political terrorist groups ( GC / BD ) - they are at war with bretonia and a reason they don t collapse is probably that the huge cooperations function as pillars to strengthen the goverment - everything fits well into one another - but is very dependent to one another. if one of the pillars is shaking, the whole construct can collapse. - while the war against bretonia rages, the idea of mercenaries isn t too far away. - even ancient japan employed hordes of mercenaries ( many more than their own soldiers, - like most other ancient empires ( romans, greeks etc. - they all used more mercs than their own people ) ).
we also have to differentiate between mercenaries / hunters using kusari to pass through to their destination and activly fighting in kusari. - alaska is blockaded for them. - flying through gamma is possible for the BHG, but dangerous. - the safest route for the BHG capital ships to get to their destination ( omicron-delta ) is indeed..... through kusari ( tohoku ).
so of course, i am convinced that the BHG can be present in kusari and pass through kusari in anything - from a light fighter up to a battleship. - its even plausible to see whole fleet sections pass through kusari. ( remember, battleships are not meant to travel alone ) - and since there is no other path to the omicrons, they have to go that way.
on a more reaonable note about the BHG:
the rogue elements of the BHG are what was IDed "mercenary" in 4.83. - only after the mercenary ID got nerft to gunboats - the BHG faction got ruined much. before that, the server was flooded with mercs in whatever ships they could grab - and now, we have the same people flying bounty hunter ships. - it is rather sad that people reflect that upon the BHG as a faction and not upon the players that cause the problems.
Yes, I might be convinced that BHG could bring some order in Kusari.
There is simply not enough KNF, and no mercs at all, and KNF is issuing a bounty on all pirates in kusari space for a while now.
I don't think many people collected it by now.

well - if you look at the reactions and opinions about BHGs in kusari space its not a surprise that they don t want to be there. - furthermore, the criminals are not frequently pirating in kusari - but focus mostly on sigma-13, which is not really the place a reasonable RPer wants to be around.
the kusari piracy ( the real piracy of casual pirates ) is as abandoned as the bretonia / kusari war, which does not rage at all. both factions bore each other to death, and kusari appears to win the war, cause its more boring than bretonia... .
edit: when a remote system like omicron delta spawns more action and interaction than the sprawling capital of a house ( new tokyo ) - something is wrong....
