howabout not camping the planets and go out looking for the smugglers like police are meant to do? then everything is fixed?

Now thats what i mean, cos lets face it. Even though you may deny it, there are police out there that camp at major profitable illeagal commodity bases, like manhatten and wait for em to come and reap the glory. (And im not aiming this at those people who do it occasionally but to those who just sit on their asses waiting for somthing to happen.)

And anyway, it doesnt matter weather your ship is big or small; in RP there would be smuggling vessels heading towards manhatten. And what i mean to say is that by having police/armed forces or whatever camped at the ring with this idea would be pretty crap for the smuggling players.

However i do accept Sovereign's idea of perhaps shipping them to lesser planets which is good, but you cant blame a smuggler for wantin to go for gold ;)

Yea , They supose to patrol the system not camp in one spot

I dont like the idea of a docking ring that can be shut down,
but perhaps jumpgates should have a disableable system similar to tradelanes that requires more time and effort to scramble.

Also, why have totally destroyable stations?
why not make it so that after taking a certain immense amount (the kind only a co-operative player op could inflict) of damage a station becomes undockable for a limited time, and takes on a damaged/burning animation, looses its weapons, and drops a **ton** of loot.

Eventually it repairs itself, possibly with appropriate lifter/repair ship animations. :)

This would give terrorists something to do in NY too, "Newark is on fire, repeat ON FIRE!!!! damage control and SAR teams to Newark STAT!"

Shattered Worlds has all jumpgates bases and docking rings and mooring fixtures with HP. They operate like tradelanes. When disabled, they don't work/dock/jump and stop firing.

However a few shots disables them :/

The system sucks, IMO. Reason: You go into cinematic mode. And the person then disables your base. You're invincible..but can't dock.


Griefing, right there.


If a smuggler lands? Ohwell. Blast him when he takes off. Who's to say he landed right at the major port? he very well may be able to set down someplace remote and unload, then take off.

Now, as soon as he takes off the players can be blasting away, afterall he sold contraband.

But your profitable and smart smugglers will go to the distribution centers, and let them do the risky business.

This is just another post of police whining."oh no the smuggler got by me because i sat 100meter's from the planet". Sheesh, stop your whining and go to the JG/JH's. Then you can set up a co-ordinated attack on the smuggler, and harrass him/destroy him before he get's to the planet. IE the first ship to see the smuggler does not have to be the 1 to kill him.

ehhhhhhhhhhh........i dont play Police char.....so..it's not a police whining post.....i just want to make stuff more RP..



it's lame that police cant shut down their own JG/Docking Ring....
