Whoever, it can't use Trade Lanes, nor Jump Holes. Cannot go through asteroid fields, has the longest cruise charge of every single vessel in game, and no thruster.
I like it, however, I have a few problems with it.
1. Mentioned earlier in the thread, it cannot use tradelanes or jumpholes. Why not? IS this simply because of size speed, and manueverability? If so, then that dosnt make that much difference considering that it can take up to 4 times longer on a trade route and still make a killing as it has 5 times the noramal cargo hold.
2. It cant go through astroid feilds? Might lose the 'mining station' from the description.
3. There is a problem to go along with that. Why no sheild? Too uber? I think not. Put a lvl 6 sheild on it for shear balence.
4. Turrets. What power supply? depending on it this could have a decent self- defence.
5. Is this a gennaric ship, for all houses/factions? If not, there will be a lot of folk calling foul.
I like the idea, as long as it is not the next advanced train. One even slight slip up on the econemy's part, say 200 price difference from one end of a system to another, could cause a huge Tau-31 style problem to exploit.

Don't worry Duke. This baby will be tested especially. If it will be easy to abuse in the matter of powertrading it will be nerfed to hell, until it is really a pure RP vessel only. One thing, that cannot be changed with current engine spread positions is its invulnerability to any CD's.

It is our desire that it be a generic ship if possible--but that is up to Igiss.
It is a ROLE PLAY ship. No shields is a bow to role play and justified by the extreme size--an extreme hull was to compensate for that. Players will need regular repair and service to operate it--which any forward deployed, long time on station ship would need.
No trade lanes is for balance. Mining is done on the edge of a field--the ship was never intended to park in the center and mine the field but to support fleets of mining ships that would ferry ore to it--while it mines the edges.
It is designed to be so unpleasant to fly that no one would want to "trade" in it. Worst case, they will break even. i fly a pirate train instead of an advanced train because I like the maneuverability and it eliminates the tedium of manual navigation. This ship is tedious and mentally draining to fly long term and long distances and the start cost is far beyond a train price.
As to shields--no shield makes it necessary to defend against npcs and to need repairs after repeated engagements with them--more role play. Repair ships actually can have a regular job now.
This is a ship built for cost effectiveness not combat capability. A few weps and low power are all that's needed. Let it play awhile and people can ask for it to be "more powerful" if needed instead of having a chorus of boos and opinions and "foul" and 'nerf" cries.
