Sorry Baltar. It was being heavily discussed, I gave my vote, and I haven't heard anything since. I can't use Skype, so it's difficult for me to keep in the loop.
I was thinking about the Kishiro and the GTS. I understand that Kishiro are making efforts to achieve faction status, and that next mod we might implement a formal division of trade areas.
So that means the GMG 'trade' in into the Edge Worlds - basically dangerous place without trade lanes. This is because:
1) GMG has an RP contract with Kishiro to deliver our H-Fuel to the Houses.
2) We have RP and diplomacy that allows us to visit certain groups in the Edge Worlds to supply trade goods.
So I would like to recommend, for the GTS, certain ship restrictions:
1) Allowed transports = Gas Miner (2800), Whale (4700).
2) Allowed Freighters = As appropriate to faction.
Basically if we want to make a large profit trader, the Whale will do the job but is vulnerable without GMG escorts - which is good RP*
Otherwise, we should be doing our RP 'trade' in smaller, more combat able ships - just like Han Solo himself...
If we REALLY want to make a stable, large profit trader associated with the GMG - we should be making a KISHIRO Train and RPing it that way.
Have a think about it...
*Note that the Abishiri as a Whale made dozens of trips to Gran Canaria by herself!;)
I'd like to know why GMG bountied Kiretsu, a GC group who respects the BD's neutrality with GMG.. I'm not asking because I don't like being bountied, we're used to it. But I do want to know why its coming from a faction that should be neutral to us. GC isn't bountied, so why the difference?
Balter, I fully remember your concern it was a topic that was heavily discussed. Your pirates concern brought in to question the newly erected GMG bounty board as it included the Pirate ID. It didn't take into account that the generic Pirate ID was for specially RP'd characters that differed from the normal freelancer factions (i.e: a Robin Hood type pirate). The discussion led to a vote between making a fix to the bounty board or dealing with diplomacy on a case by case scenario with Pirate ID'd players. The bounty board has been updated. The generic Pirate ID was removed and was replaced with "and any <ship type> caught in the act of piracy/terrorism that does not have either BD IF or IFF". We will still be harsh to "all" piracy except that we pay BD to target Samura and we turn a blind eye if they are pirating traders going to their Chugoku JH. If you have a Pirate ID and wish to pirate in Sigma without being bothered you'll need to set up a deal with BD and switch IFF to BD. I apologize if this conflicts with any deals you had with an earlier GMG but we studied what they did and none of their deals or diplomacy apply with the current GMG|.
Friday, we will get to that topic shortly........We only just received concerns from the now growing Kishiro faction slightly over a day ago. No formal division has been set yet as the GM's themselves haven't gotten to fully discuss this topic. What you asked of me in Skype was my opinion and it was what I gave my opinion. I will push for a formal conlusion to the matter concerning Kishiro and Guild Trade Ships after we complete our most immediate concern: The GMG/KNF vs Phantoms event. So please before you use Skype/PMs/Forums to rush a decision on this wait til we complete this event and finnish writing the stories about it. Afterwards we can deal with this next matter without any distractions.
Dab, that's interesting about Kiretsu, information I wasn't aware of. I'll start reading up on Kiretsu. Can't say I've ran into them much myself but there may be a reason behind it. I'll find out about it and see if I'll need to jump onto the bounty board and make another edit as soon as possible (glares at Ross :P).
Edit Add: Balter, I am sorry I myself haven't responded to your diplomatic post. The thing is, Raikoke is the one Guild Master that captains a Guild Trade Ship. As the highest ranking trader in the corporation you can well imagine the many levels of contempt she has for pirates and she just isn't the type of charater to enter diplomacy with them. This isn't against you personally, it's part of her personality along with with her un-hidden ambitious greed.

Hmm ... ok ... well ... so long as I am not harassed by bounty hunters we will have no problems. But ... keep in mind that my diplomatic request includes me leaving GMG and Kishiro alone in exchange for not being hunted. So ... safety for me equals safety for you and yours. Its a mutual exchange of benefits, respect and profit.
EDIT: BTW ... I do conduct trade with Blood Dragons. I supply them with water, food and medicine. Just to make sure you understand where I stand.

Because there have been incidents where we have stopped Smugglers and Kiretsu have aided the smugglers.
Not [GC], or indie GC, but [Kiretsu], and it's only the Kiretsu, mainly because they are the only GC that show up in Sigma 13 escorting smugglers:P
My opinion on GMG : Good work guys, keep it up. In future (4.85) who knows, maybe we can negotiate diplomacy stance to some higher level. Anyway, just do whatever you did up to now. Its working!

Well first; The only smuggler we EVER escort is the faction transport that brings Cardamine from Alpha.. And that is through the Taus, not the Sigmas. We don't escort Outcast smugglers. There has only ever been one incident between GMG and Kiretsu, where one of my pilots helped the OC attack Naha. I logged on and was told such by the NovaPG, at which time myself, as well as those NPG, went directly to Sigma-13 where I told my pilot to cease firing at any GMG ships. Then both myself on behalf of Kiretsu, and the pilot who had done it personally, apologized to the GMG ships that were on at the time. All Kiretsu have specific orders to avoid Naha unless they have permission from Naha, and we avoid pirating in Sigma-13 in the first place. Most often the only times we are there is if large groups of Corsairs or BHG show up and we're helping OC or NovaPG in taking them out.
Just want to make this perfectly clear; Kiretsu does not escort Outcast smugglers, and certainly not near Naha. Never happened, never will. If you care to prove me wrong, show some evidence to back up your claims. But this bounty was put out there silently, no official declaration of it, no notification to me or any other Kiretsu, and no reason or evidence was supplied with the bounty. If it were placed due to a legitimate reason, these things would have been supplied at the time of the posting, or contact would've been made to talk about it prior to the bounty. So the situation is pretty clear.
