I've never understood why bounty hunters - usually rag-tag misfits that operate deftly below the table and under the law to apprehend criminals for one thing: cash - have such resources at their disposal as high-tech battleships and destroyers. It really makes no sense to me.
But on topic: I don't think having this battleship a weaker vessel is a bad thing. We undeniably have a truckload of PvP interested players flying these things, and making these ships stonger than they need be is not a good thing. Maybe if it's a weaker ship, more BH players will use it for RP purposes over the usual PvP purposes.

The order is a fighter-based group, we dont even have our own bomber yet, and osirises up until a couple weeks ago were pretty rare, they will return to 'rare status' in 4.85 when we start restricting order caps.
I dont think "fighting the order" - an elite fighter-based organization - is justification for bounty hunters having ridiculously powerful capships - and an entire line of caps at that. The only faction which has more caps than the BHG is the liberty navy (talking about different types of caps here, not how many are being used in-game).
Two gunboats, a destroyer, a battlecruiser, and a battleship... why? There isnt really a reason. The problem is that someone got them put into the mod and now we cant remove them.
I like new concept jinx. My guess is it will look alot better textured then it is now, and details will cover large blank areas it has now. What would i change is following. 1. Get rid of that romboid piece on nose, unless there is purpose for it. 2. Enlarge engines a bit, round them more too, because right now they look too small compared to armor plating provided for them. Maye stick them out of structural? Also thickness of middle between fuel tank and current outline would be ok. 3. Middle of the ship is too thin and looks fragile, maybe thicken it a bit? 4. Those loose ribs look nice, but bulky, maybe if you curve them towards last part of the ship they would look more sleek and flowing(a feature bhg ships have)

As of why does BHG have caps. Well, if you had lil time to read infocards and rumors you would see guild is more formally organized than it was in original idea. Also i think their BS was done as celebration of new organization and structure inside guild itself.

I think that calling all the BHG ships larger than the Orca just plain BHG is a bit of a misnomer...I've always got the feeling that the capships are produced by and for the Guild Core, which, unlike the loose organization of actual bounty hunters that use their name, is a highly skilled and organized military force with very specific objectives (namely, blow up the Order and probably anything else that gets in their way on their eventual takeover of the universe). That would justify their presence, methinks.
As for making it a weak Battleship, I strongly disagree. Battleships need to be restricted, not nerfed. If you nerf them all the good RPers will just stop playing them because they can't RP well if they don't win once in a while...I know I'd have stopped playing long before I did if I didn't have some kind of PvP victory every now and then. Instead of trying to restrict Battleships make the RP requirements and forum participation requirements higher for them. Make a universal rule-enforced set of prerequisites and behaviors that BS pilots must abide by and give them back their PvP ability.
As for the actual model...sorry, Jinx, but I just have to say no. If it weren't for the engines, tbh, I wouldn't know which end was front or back. It's a real turn-off to one of the prettiest ships currently in the game, and that, I think, is the direction a BHG Battleship needs to go in; integrate the Corona frigate frame into the FL style, from the ground up. I mean, this model, to me, looks scattered and disjointed. I don't think it's a suitable replacement for the Corona.

the "thing" on the nose is a hardpoint place for 6 forward turrets ( 3 top, 3 down ) - concentrated firepower.
about the BHG having a battleship, please - do NOT discuss that in that thread, its only for feedback on the replace. - BHG has a battleship, and i will most certainly NOT make it worse than the current one - so don t even try. ( why i m not fond of the idea of changing its size too much - i am for adjusting its hitbox a little - but size, agility and firepower should stay the way it is )
i ll fix the rear "ribs" a little - so they ll create a streamlined shape with the ships rear - however, that might make it look similar to the harvester cruiser, which is basicly a squid. ( well - i do hope the harvesters are still around in 4.85 - cause if they are not.... its again the zoners that add two rather funny ships to their warfleet [ a fleet they never use ] )
i have already removed the rondel on the top ( or garbagecan ) - and replaced it with a few antennas - it makes the ship look sleeker already.
i also just made a funny little test... i used the train ( normal train ) data - and slapped it on the ship ( untextured open SP test )
i assigned the cargopods to the "fueltanks" which i removed for that. - i was able to buy cargopods ( two ) and they would appear where the fueltanks are. - but i don t think i ll make it like that in the final version, cause for one... why should the battleship equip custom cargopods - and then... the cargopods vanish cause of LoD at like 1k anyway.
furthermore, i tested a hitbox - and the bretonian battleship hitbox fits well - but a simple tube fits nicely, too.
i ll texture the whole thing tomorrow...

there are not many BHG battleships out there, btw. - its mostly gunboats, bombers and battlecruisers. - battleships are as rare as destroyers, mostly cause battleships are a LOT more vulnerable than gunships and ten times less effective. almost every faction that has battleships has more battleships deployed than the BHG ( going by serverstats )
anyway, regarding to the lore of its purpose, the battleship needs to be a match for both, the nomad battleship and the osiris, cause those two are the likely enemies, no point wishing it to be much weaker.
I'm thinking that the BH BS should be sleeker. If you take the bow of that model Tic displayed in this thread and connect it with the modified stern of your newest model, I think you would have a good looking and functional ship. I think it would look better with a taller, not wider, profile.
Your current model would probably be a nightmare to navigate through an asteroid field. The BS has to travel through "challenging" areas of space from time to time.

Personally, I think it's too stubby. Lengthen it a bit more. Other than that, it's not too bad, though it reminds me of the Juggernaut for some reason.
k - so, i ll modify the basic shape to look more like the smaller warships ( tall / vertical ) - i can leave the external tanks anyway then - they might not have been a good idea after all. - gonne think of something tomorrow. - after i fixed the rest of my ships hardpoints ( still 4 ships to be fixed )
