To Orin, since most light fighters have only 4 gunslots, equipping the cannonballs would use a valuable class 9 gun

A starkiller could give the light fighters the boost they need to become more successful in the overall mod

Do you know how much damage Starkillers do?

Two shieldbusters, a single hullbuster used for last resort, and a Cannonball or something similar is simply the most damage you can get out of a light fighter. Variations included.

The Starkiller is utterly useless as it stands. Giving it to light fighters would be like giving a bomber a Sunslayer. There's simply better choices already.

There is one way to do it (lots of hull damage but zero shield)... but unfortunately it produces one pretty bad negative side effect, so we scrapped it.

If you know about some easy other way just come with it.

Perhaps instead on dropping mines, we could launch them, like a missile or torp. But as a medium between the two.

Also, a stationary mine dropper might be useful for Cap fights.

A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.

Kurosora, energy based stationary only usable by Spatial perhaps (would give them reason to have two mine slots)

Well, i tried it out in Open SP, set a mine to:

hull_damage = 7500
energy_damage = -2625

(Shield Damage due to the 50% Hull Damage thing, is originally 3750, the -2625 counters that dropping it to 1125 shield damage as i mentioned in the suggestion)

This is the infocard for Nuclear Mine with the above modifications

This is 1 mine vs a Class 8 HF Shield shield (5,890 Shield Capacity) Quite visible it didnt do 3750 shield damage like it should if that statement held true (3,750 Shield Damage would have dropped it close to 25%, which didnt happen as it didnt even go under 50%).
[Image: mineshielddamagenn5.th.jpg][Image: thpix.gif]

This is 1 mine vs Marsflyer Hull (10,000 Armor) Doing 7500 damage, leaving Marsflyer with 25% Armor left. (this was taken to support the above statement against the "Shield Damage = 50% Hull Damage issue")
[Image: minehulldamagerj6.th.jpg][Image: thpix.gif]

Also in the last two screens, to make sure people knew it was the Mine and nothing else, the scanner is visible and the Mine explosion is visisble

Raisu that is exactly the way that we tried and has a little issue...

you know which?

Negative energy damage results in instantly draining all energy from the target when hit on hull.

So a starflier with one "hullbuster" like this needs ONE hit to drain BS energy from full to zero. :yahoo:
