I bring news of great victory and the first strike in our vengeance against Das Wilde. On patrol I received a long-distance communique from an old, dear friend of ours. I responded in kind.
It would not seek me out directly, however I could not ignore its presence after being tipped off by one of our convoys feeding me intel.
I found it down on the Stuttgart trade lane, only precious minutes from Kreuzberg. I set my cybernetic Nomad Hunter systems online, slaving navigational and gunnery systems to my complete control.
It closed distance and opened fire. The battle was joined and the Caveat Emptor was outgunned. The Abschnitt is a deadly predator. We navigated the craft so her narrow aft presented the Wilde champion with an unfavorable target, and deployed lateral thrusters while firing all turrets at the Scorpion's much larger bow.
Soon it broke off to regenerate its depleted shielding. Sensing weakness, we gave pursuit.
Unfortunately, in a blow-for-blow battle against such a foe, the Emptor finds herself woefully outmatched. We resumed evasive maneuvering and again found our great advantage against him, only turning to deploy precision firing passes against perceived weaknesses in the Abschnitt's armor. Our armor at this point had taken a severe pounding and starboard compartment 2 had been breached. We lost Jack Alberts, the Caveat's Second Engineer, to exposure.
We sealed off the breach immediately and resumed our onslaught. By this point the Abschnitt had taken far more punishment that it had bargained for and was attempting to withdraw. No mercy was shown, and no escape would be granted this time.
During the final desperate exchange of fire, neither myself nor the Abschnitt's navigator were paying much attention to our trajectories. I was only fortunate my forward screens had drawn power when this happened:
We recovered dozens of human prisoners' escape pods from the wreckage. They remain under my guard at Kreuzberg until they can be verified as uninfected, at which point they will be returned to their homes. Unfortunately I was unable to draw a living Nomad sample as well.
This will only be the beginning of our skirmishes with the Wild. We must contact the IMG and set out a contract for more of their gunboats. My craft has taken severe damage as of late and requires more time in the yard. Once the prisoners are clear, I must return to Puerto Rico and see to it that the Caveat Emptor gets the service she needs.
Funeral service will be held for Second Engineer Alberts at Puerto Rico. Junkers who aspire to the position may contact me.
Excellent job Caveat Emptor! Another medal for your chest. The Junker families of those rescued owe you a debt of gratitude.
Be advised we have another (would you believe it) Bounty Hunter menace. They are going after Corsairs and Outcasts and their allies within the 5k zone of Yanagi. One of their vessels is a Zoner Juggernaut.
Several Junker civilians were killed in the crossfire and the base was struck by battleships rounds several times as combated was initiated within 800m of the base.
Even after the battle was over, they remained near the base engaging low level Corsair fighters docking for refueling.
The group goes by the name "Rangers" and there may be a slight language barrier. It seems many Coalition survivors have migrated into varying areas of Sirius and tried to integrate into local communities--though without having fully mastered the varying non-Coalition languages.
Their leader, "Paladin" has been instructed not to engage with his forces within 5k of the base but it is unclear if the message was understood as coms were broken by an ion storm.
Be on the alert and to our Outcast and Corsair customers especially.
...if only the Wild and Bounty hunters would find each other.
Excellent job again there Caveat Emptor--most impressive!

Arbiter Tinkerbell,
My thanks for the accolades and medal. It remains an honor to make the stand between our innocents and those that would do us harm.
The biological and neurological scans of the rescued are nearly complete. We are hurrying to finish up as several need medical attention. The Caveat Emptor has received the best repairs that could be performed on her by Kreuzberg's talented engineers, but still needs time in a real shipyard to be brought back to optimal parameters. In any case she will survive the journey through jump-space to get to Vieques, at least.
I request that explicit and concrete rules of engagement be created for the following events:
- known no-fire zone violators breaching our perimeter
- patrons of our depot who break our no-fire zone regulation
- situation procedure on when an offender is well within the 2k zone, refuses to move and continues to endanger us by firing on nearby targets
- assistance and protection guidelines, regarding patrons of a station who come under attack within the station perimeter, both inside and outside the no-fire zone
- affiliates of past violators (IE: Subfactions bearing the same ship tag) entering our space
- limitations of retaliatory and pre-emptive strikes where known violators are concerned
I have been acting in my best judgment out of consideration of the less combat-oriented members of our Congress, but the recent incident which caused the near destruction of the Casa de OsoRojo has led me to believe that I am in fact erring on the side of caution.
Bearing in mind that the hostile actions of a single craft could paint the entire faction and endanger all Congress members as a result, we of the Junker Guard need to know when we are cleared to use deadly force.
If your hands are full, I could render assistance on that front. I can create a preliminary RoE that would balance discipline and diplomacy, with effective guidelines on when warnings are no longer enough; and we are clear to let weapons do the talking. With your oversight it could be fine-tuned into a comprehensive set of rules for all who band together and protect our home.
My apologies for my bluntness, but this is needed soon.

Subject: 2 New Members!
All honoured members! I have recruited yet another 2 members into our ranks. I started my day with gathering some contributions from people going in and out of Rochester. This is for the restorations of Rochester. (outcasts, rogues etcetera, just some small amounts to keep the contact rolling) The men on my base are working hard on the inside, but soon the outside will have to be done, wich is slightly more risky, and surely more expensive.
After that I went towards Manhattan to check if there were any potential recruits. I came at the right moment. 2 lads, one in a collector and one in a csv, were willing to join our righteous cause. I brought them to Rochester and started the process, buying them a bribe, one of them a collector, and taking them on some missions. When the process was already 3/4 completed, I got assistance of arriving member Antony Calvert, who supplied some needed credits. Together we introduced the recruits into the junkers background and how they were supposed to behave. We made sure they changed the names, and here is the result: I proudly announce two new names into our roster:
-.:j:.Panic
-.:j:.Aidowehin
I will soon contact them, and encourage them to let their voices be heard on our forum
Best of luck to you all!
Adrian Morvayn.

My apologies for those in play with him in New York during this incident. He totally was on his own in this. this was not a requested or approved ship by this player and his behavior was worse.

Subject: Trouble
Gentlemen,
It has come to my ear that one of our trading convoys got caught in Dublin with <strike>Counterfeit Software</strike>. Remember our one most rule: DON'T GET CAUGHT!
I am saddened to see that, however, some of you lads didn't quite understand what THAT means!
It means not being SCANNED by any lawfuls!
Now I have heard rumors from a Bounty hunter (callsign: "morningstar") who hunted us down that the BPA) is going to be placing a Kill-on-sight bounty on ALL of us - whether we carry illegal goods or not!
Now since two of you lads failed me, there might be some punishment in stall for you.
It's up to the sympathy of the rest of the ring if they will help you.
Since Bretonia is one of our arteries when it comes to our trading business, you have endangered not only the import operations of <strike>Counterfeit software</strike> and Plutonium, but also the outflow of <strike>MOX</strike> and Gold.
And that saddens me! Because now we can't supply our Molly mates.
Now since it's best to let our higher ranks do the talk, I suggest we stay low and don't stir anymore trouble! And we'll do that by no longer going into Bretonia. If you wish to supply Malta, they appreciate Slaves just as much as they like their <strike>MOX-juice</strike>.
You have been warned, gentlemen. You're cooperation is EXPECTED.
