Wow magnetically accelerated high-velocity rounds..already see the description on the infocard.. I think that this would be good.

None of you have heard of MACs?...

As far as this mod goes, maybe a big railgun in a torp slot. It'd kind of work like a sniper cannon... I don't know how anyone would feel about that.

it is possible to make a very long projectile, to extend from the ship to the target, but it looks a bit ugly, it looks good with high speed, but that is unbalanced, as such weapons are either easy to hit with, or don't do enough damage...

fast refire rate is out.... it lags the server, so we won't have it.

Well if it is gonna happen, my vote goes to the low refire, high damage and velocity option. But the damage should definitely be lower than the damage of the razor, cause after all it is much faster, so for balance.

It's incredibly hard to balance it, take for example Stem guns from marsflyer, they have very high speed,... If you make a weapon like razor, basicly a sniper weapon, it will rock, so much so that it would determine the course of battle to much in a hand of experienced pilots...

I do appreciate the argument against hypervelocity weapons... how sad that we are unable to give weapons a minimum range as well as a maximum.

Malak's reference to Mechwarrior is a good example, if you've every played it. When it impacts an object the force spreads over it while he round continues penetrating the target, ripping it apart or causing significant structural damage. Shields do a good job of weakening the impact's force, though. For Disco this means you have a missile that moves at maximum programable velocity with no turn rate, extremely low refire, and heavy structural damage. As for scale, they can be mounted on anything from battleships to fighters with torpedo hardpoints, with damage based on projectile size.

what about starcraft? the terran Battlecrusiers special weapon. yami cannon or something, lots of energy, lots of damage. got to fix thoughs mortars, to much energy light mortar is better then the mortar. hehe whould be nice if we could choose diffrent color Razors, green, red, yellow...purple

I'd just like capships to get a weapon with 5-6k projectile speed so we can hit those stupid bombers without having to resort to missiles =P
