Quote:EDIT: Oh calm down eppy. I am pretty sure the OC dressie was already on the chopping block for selling locations. Just about every ship is getting re-arranged to be logical. My focus is on the contents of the info card alone. That line in there will literally be the only thing that will allow a molly to continue using a dressie. If it is removed it can be very quickly argued that they should not have the ship and become a OORP offense. Like it or not they need to keep using it until there is somthing else that they can use.
Actually, as I recall, (I can't confirm it since I don't have FL on this computer and my working machines are out of reach at the moment), the Mollys aren't mentioned in the infocard, only the Rogues. By that line of thought they already shouldn't be using them. I take a different view; they're a (shakily) allied party; therefore, they can still fly the ship. Same with the Rogues. They can't manufacture it, but they can certainly still fly it. The Outcasts have long since established a precedent as selling out their smaller warships (Destroyers and occasional Battleships) as a service for their allies.
Quote:Er, according to the infocard it was not a solely Outcast project. Thus it should NOT have been solely sold in Outcast space.
Especially considering that both the Rogues and Mollys have ample resources to create said ships. They both created their gunboats, why can't all three of them manage to create the Destroyers in the Molly shipyards?
So really, what has happened makes perfect sense.
Everything bolded is wrong. The Rogues do not have shipyards or mining facilities. Therefore, they cannot produce Destroyers. The Mollys have shipyards and facilities to do it, but why would we license them to build our prized Destroyers? It would be much more profitable to sell the ships to them directly, especially considering our precarious relations with them and the BAF. Therefore, it should be sold solely in Outcast space and what has happened does not make sense.
Quote:Wow, I bring up a point that you may want to consider, than inform you that it doesn't affect me in particular, so I won't debate it, and you flame me?
No, dear, you debated that point then decided you didn't want to debate it anymore and tried to skip out on the excuse that it doesn't have anything to do with you. THAT'S why I'm flaming you.
In other news, here's the first detailed draft up and running. I'd like to do a bit more with the back and lower spoiler and I have to put the Maltese cross still on the landing bay doors, plus add the scanner dish and other miscellaneous nubbins, but here's the general idea. I also expanded the engine cowl, as per Jinx's request, and expanded the ventral-bow superstructure more in line with that on the Dreadnought.

I like this a lot more than the OC gunboat/ship, to be honest. My favorite of all the cruiser/destroyer-class ships I've seen. Put a nice texture on it, a few minor details here and there, and it'll look really great.

How is notifying you of the fact that the Rogue and Molly factions will not like your ideas debating? You turned it into a debate when you started cursing and bluntly stating your opinion. I simply informed you that I'm not the one to talk to about it. I don't have one, and I don't have the final say. Cool off.
Hopefully I didn't read all the nuclear blasting of the little trio up there. The result is rather nice, although, I hope you wont keep the texture red. I hate this colour.
No, I just use the pink because it stands out well against the black; it helps me get a better feel for a ship as a whole when I'm building it. It'll have a real BW skin when it's done.
...thought it would be the height of degrading if we invaded Gamma with pink Destroyers:D
No, you did your informing, I said what was going to happen, then you decided that I was an immoral ba*tard and that this 'fairplay' BS somehow dictates what I put in the infocard of my ship. THAT's when I went off on you, love.

I love you two. Now settle these on PM, please. This is a discussion mostly for the ship physical appearance and stats, not for the complexe philosophies of this wonderfully incomplete game.
Anybody else who cares about the actual model, please post now. Assuming Ahnold guides our errant bleeding heart back to a thread where he can be of some importance, I would like to talk about my .3ds...It looks good to me, and whilst there are a few improvements I'd like to make it feels like it's still missing something...thoughts?

looks quite good to me. the wing-like plating (or maybe plate-like wings, I dont really know) seems a bit too thin. Especially for an outcast ship. But again, it makes it more beautiful nonetheless.
Also, looking at the bridge view ports, I think theres some kind of problem. double sided poly or something?
