gunboat forward gun is good idea...

Gunboat forward gun, TCD, sunslayer, starkiler, 2x cannonballs, 2x imp. debilitators (or adv.), 2x firestalker missile, agility as any other average bomber and you have kickass PvP vessel for all situations (anticap/antifighter with one settup). Even without gunboad fwd. gun it is nice ship;)

no GB guns - cause even large fighters look totally distorted with gunboat guns ( - they are simply too big ). the idea of a light junker bomber with a GB gun instead of a SN was made earlier.... and failed due to that fact.

a ship of a fighter size looks rediculous with a GB gun. - and even if its often said that the 4.84 BHG gunship is smaller than a fighter.... it is in fact not ( its larger and still looks stupid with most GB guns ).

making a unique gun? - possible.... but not probable.

the most useful idea would be to do what the Death Scythe can do. - one CD and one CD/torp mount ... along with reasonable stats and a HF powerplant ( to fire a razor ) - it would be a real light bomber without the ability to fire a nova / supernova - but the ability to fire a 20k dam gun - and a train CD if needed.

a heavy torp mounted gun wouldn t be too far off, when it was transformed to a mech on a planetary surface, where you might need heavy artilery, cause i guess that stationary installations on a planets surface are much more hardened than ships in space.

but this was also discussed already... and if one house gets a useful 1xCD/1xCD/torp mount HF/VHF - everyone wants one. ...

Jinx: point of this ship is superbomber.... your settup is just another fighter with cool design. No gunboat gun? Why not but keep those 3 torps... it would still make caps cry;)(It can have problems with gunboats but we cant have everything right?:))

because - balancewise - there is no room for a superbomber.

any bomber that can fire a supernova faster than the current 58k powerplant bombers would unbalance the whole system - easy as that... no matter how much players like to punish players that fly capships.... it would simply mess things up too much. we can make bombers that can totally waste battleships with ease - as much as we can make battleships that leave smaller ships no chance at all. - and both of those make a certain part of the community very happy.

so the goal of the dev team is not to make parts of the community happy - but to make the whole community equally unhappy =P

did you read what was xing writing about powerplant of this ship?... too small for SN, inferno max;)

what outcast? you mean minirazor which is standard equipment of all fractions in game? (including KNF? Almost every single of us own one;)

Tbh I can't see this ship working in game

either it will be completely useless or "too good" in some way.

As it shows balancing other "hybrid" or different ships proves very troublesome with "opposing" side always picking the strong points of the ship in marking it "uber" while weak points are mostly neglected. I could name 5 examples off the top of my head.

So no more strange hybrid ships.

If you want to make something for kusari, make a battlecruiser constructed mainly for defense (as both Kusari GB and Destroyer are all about offense).
