What are cruisers 'supposed' to be good for? I'd hate to see them only as a weak battleship, because then they only try to fill the same role with poor results.
What are they supposed to do and how does that get put into place?
Range: 500 - 600m
Refire Rate: 16.00 (or as fast as purple goddesses)
Damage: 500 - 650
Energy Drain: (Enough to drain the energy core in 25 -30 consecutive shots.)
Cruiser Solaris Turret
Range: 900 - 1000m
Refire Rate: 6.06
Damage: 600 - 750
Energy Drain: (Enough to drain the capacitors in 30 - 45 consecutive shots.)
Battleship Solaris Turret
Range: 1050m - 1200m
Refire Rate: 5.00
Damage: 750 - 800
Energy Drain (Enough to drain the capacitors in 50 - 60 consecutive shots.)
As caught attention, I would also like to see two classes of missiles for capitals (not GB's). #1 type: Current cruiser/battleship missiles. #2 type: Just like gunboat missiles, but decreased range, decreased damage, increased launch rate, decreased power drain.
So much like these stats:
Cruisers:
Range: 750 - 1000
Refire Rate: 0.50
Damage: 950 - 1400
Energy drain: (Similar to gunboat missile drain)
Shouldn't it be up to the players how they wish to equip their cruiser/gunboat/battleship?
I mean, why not have a bomber killing cruiser? If it is especially dedicated to the task, then give it the teeth to actually stand up to these things.
Weapons ranges should be the maximum bomber weapons range +25%.
Make it actually difficult for the bomber to get a shot in. Make taking down a cruiser or battleship something to work for as it should be. A tstament to the skill of the pilot, not to the inadequacy of the capital ships weaponry.
OR
make an anti-bomber class of ship. Wait that is supposed to be a Heavy fighter... right? Well good Heavy Fighter pilots seem to be flying Bombers anyway. why? Because they are more versatile machines... so there goes that plan.
Back to my original statement. I'd love to see a test a couple of bombers against a lone cruiser equipped with Solaris weapons. By rights the bombers should be dead, plain and simple... but I have a feeling this is not the case... and this is evidence of the fact that something is severely broken.
