Perhaps the level of 'spin' should depend on the reporter covering the article?
If you have dedicated 'reporters' covering certain parts of space - the name alone could give readers an indication or potential bias.
Reporters could also include quotes from parties involved that show their own personal biases - or allow aggrieved parties to offer 'corrections' and counter-spin via a 'letter to the editor' (which often happens IRL).
Letters are often part of an 'Opinion' page - also covering Editorial Comment and Opinion pieces from various factions.
How much spin you put on articles also depends on the over approach of the media. Is this News Service a reputable journal or a sleazy tabloid?
And more importantly - can we have both! We also need a sleazy tabloid/conspiracy nutter webzine!

This is a good one. What do you think about some web form, on which various persons can write down their opinions and submit them to us. We will have a look at them and publish them at the right point. Until now the only way for you to submit us stories is via email (the-discoverer@xcomm.de)
But maybe some more contact to the readers would help us to create articles with more ties to the actual RP on the server.

Right. We have the gossip section for this. Maybe I will create some special account who always publishes stuff like that and the only thing you have to do when you want to know whether an article is a good one or a sleazy one is to look at the authors name.
Get me some suggestions!:P
Currently we're working on some improved revision system, which will prevent bad typo.
Okay... the revision thingy is done. The evil typos should be gone forever.:)
Now to some more tricky task. I'm planning to implement a stock exchange section, where you can find all Sirius stocks in a graphical form. Maybe one or two on the front page on a small image and an overview off all stocks on a special page.
I'd like to know: what would be best for the usability? What do you want to see?
Oh since this got bumped up, I gotta say I'm impressed at how quick you got an article on the Benitez - Colonial Remnant thing. Good job, though I'm puzzled at how you learned all those details, hardly anyone managed to get a glimpse of us, we even avoided all those Bretonians

I see some problem here: should we base the Discoverer on the model of some real existant broadcasting service? All I see on TV is as filled with manipulative information as this article of the Discoverer. Would it be better to stay 100% neutral or shall we encourage a behaviour like this from the IMG? (From a moral position it would be good, but not from a press position.)
Very difficult question, imo. I will talk with my editors about this.
Absolute neutrality would open the possibility to become interesting for the 'unlawful' factions as like.
The above depends. Do you want to be BBC-esk, or Fox News-ish? The BBC is impartial and has to report fairly, while Fox is renown for the crap it produces to pull in viewers.
Seeing as this is the only still running news paper, I'd suggest running on an impartial basis, seeing as there is no other source of information to go to. If more competition turns up, then at least the reader has the option of going else-where in search of more reliable information.
But I do understand you. We're working on some structure right now to stay serious, but also provide the 'unlawfuls' and seedy factions some base to release news. Currently we want to use our 'Gossip' category for news from the underground... let's see how we decide.
