So I'm assuming obtaining it is worth it? I'll get on it as soon as I can see straight, then.

For the Core.

I got it a few months back, but still didn't bother to play it past mission 5 (?). It's..Meh, not because of the graphics but I personaly just don't like the way its done. Launch, go here and shoot this, then head back. That's all there's to it.

Regarding 'comrade'

There is a very difference between the german word 'Kamerad' and 'Genosse' which is both 'comrade' in english.
It depends on the context if it means a 'political bother' or your army pal.

BTW:
Freelancer is the successor of Privateer - both crated by Chris Roberts.
Freelancer and Digital Anvil were sold away to M$ who cut down the high ambitions.
This way Freelancer became the 'marketing successor' of Starlancer.
The whole gameplay is almost the same like in Privateer.

I played through starlancer twice and thought it was great. We still fire it up for lan parties now and then (yes I still do those)

When I come back to freelancer I always think how it is too bad we cannot use joysticks.... It is a good game.

Heh, putting American stereotypes together leads to that implication, but, it's nothing more than an implication.

I'd say so, at least to recognize the inconsistencies in Digital Anvil's cannon. :P

I didn't particularly like SL, I found it quite frustrating in places. More so than FL:PIt was also really buggy, example, when you have to shoot the engines out of the Coalition cruiser (or w/e) always ended in failure.

Favourite quote: When you shoot up you own capship with too much friendly fire....

Co-pilot: "Your ass is grass!"

and you fail the mission.

I actually obtained a mint copy of Starlancer off of looqas. It keeps crashing at parts, but if I retry the mission, it usually doesn't crash. Brilliant game though.

<3 Mirage and Reaper.

All I remember of it is that I got extremely bored at torp chasing and quit just about when there is a mission involving the Carrier (Varyag?) I always meant to finish it, but then came the new game mistresses that I had to serve.

Then I auctioned it to Zavier here and sent the game to him.;)Good thing you got it semi-working. I remember it being rather crashy. Combined with some more fail&retry missions make up a real interest killer.

Don't go and read ahead if you don't want to.

Walk through if you want to get a feel for it.

Flying under radar.
