hmm... well i thought since there are now two Coalition factions, i should ask for a Coalition ID again. since my faction is in the process of buying a system, it wouild be EXTREMELY convenient to use Coalition IDs.
there wouldnt need to be npc Coalition, but the ID would be really nice. since the Phantoms got an ID, i think the Coalition should too.
there are a lot of servers that have it, and its not like it detracts from the rp of anything. it ADDS to the rp.
since i dont read this thread very often, sorry if i asked the same thing someone else did recently...
Okay, we did some extensive testing, and here are the results:
Beats a Cruiser (light and heavy, we had both) 100% of the time.
Beats a BS (14 gun) 25% of the time, and the time it won... im a REALLY bad BS pilot, not even kidding. Im horrible in anything larger than a Cruiser.
Cost of LAF: 95 mil.
Cost of Cruiser (heavy) 45 mil.
Cost of cruiser (light) 35 mil.
Cost of BS (Corsair Dread) 215 mil.
Sounds about right to me, I don't think we need to change anything. the cost could go up a little more, but the BS shield should stay, all frigates have them.
All frigates are lacking a thruster as well, and are much harder to get through asteroids, that makes up for the extra shiel power right there. It is quite easier to hit that the average Cruiser, but not as easy as a BS. The fact is, Ant is an exceptional pilot, and has a very good weapon config, wich minimises power usage. The average frigate user does not. I think its fine how it is.

I'd just like to add...
The Frigate used in the trial had a better weapons config for capship fights than most players on the server would use.
In the Cruiser vs Frigate test, the cruiser was able to drop the shields on the Frigate and do minor damage before being destroyed. I'll be the first to admit I'm a bit rusty with a cruiser. Repeated tests inflicted a little more damage on the Frigate.
Against my Corsair Dreadnaught, the frigate was able to drop my shields and do minor damage before being destroyed.
A cruiser was able to reduce my shields by around half to three quarters before being destroyed.
A more typical weapons loadout(or a less experienced pilot) on the frigate and the cruiser would have stood a much better chance against it.
Well, If these tests are what they seam to be, I would say: No changes to the Frigates. In my eyes, they have always been balanced.
Verginix Out
EDIT: Aeon, unfortyunatly, thought it IS a good idea, if you guys got the Coalition ID, all the other factions would want their own ID too. I think add any more ID then there are NPC factions is a Bad Idea. For Example, when do you see any player flying around ina Gian ID or a Hogosha or Daunuman. You don't. All the new Players will go for is Frfeelancer if they have a fighter char or Neutral for traders. I try and spice up my trading by not take Neutral or Freelancer and by take Gateway shipping instead. Unfortunatly, the ID really dont seamt o have an Effect on many players, and the Colation one would give them a whole new thing to distract them.
To add again to Ant, Im quite experienced in a cruiser, and I was able to drop the shield and do very minor damage against a player who, while not Ant, was quite good and had the same weapons loadout as him. With Ant in the frigate and me in the cruiser, the results were the same as his.

I have to agree with you there Verg. Too many IDs isn't a good thing. Right now I think I'm the only one with a Spa and Cruise tag or ID, let alone one who RPs as a 'Private yacht' (read: Lux Liner [no cruiser weaponry or shields on this one. Only gunboat.)
hehe, the [IND]LuxuryLinerTitanic has all the stock weaps and shields, I dare you Dab:P

Well seeing as how I'm meant to be a moving target who always has commodities and money on him, I'm going for a bit more defensive capabilities. Plus, I'm a yacht, not a Liner.:P Private rich man's luxury yacht needs weaponry..
Well, a bit offtopic, my yacht is the Ampoliros, on the other hand... being an Outcast drug baron...
