Also, unfortunately, the scanners aren't working properly either. The basic scanner should only see 5k ahead and scan within 1k, yet you can still see players at 15k, no matter the scanner. Basically making the fancy expensive Discovery scanner useless, being more expensive and less efficient ( can only scan within 3k.

I thoroughly agree with this idea, if it is possible in the Freelancer engine that is. This would make tradelane ambushes in the indie systems and tradelane ambushes in general alot more viable for pirates.
@teschy - why are you inverted hoodlum? NVM, I thought though that the scan range was the range scanners added items to the map at, not the range it was supposed to detect other ships at, this is what I have been told at least.
@Jure - are you planning on changing it eventually?
dont forget nearly all pirate and lawfull system in RP have like radar things that spot enemys once entering the system, and can roughly pin-point their location when in range of the target (15k)
