Believe me, I've already thought about it... (special RP char with these ships maybe?)
On the topic, its about time the xenos got there own line of ships. I especially like how you kept them in RP that they are a bunch of scraps taken from civi ships and reconstructed.

"WHAT!!?!! The xenos got new war ships!!! Liberty is no longer safe!" *Packs up and moves to Bretonia*

I would think it to have more armor, same firepower, and less cargo
Edit: Oops, sorry for the double post
Edit2: Oh, and less manuverability.

yea after i posted it came to me, its morning here already and i need to sleep:Pi cant think straight.. not saying i can when i am not tired but i should try tomorrow see how it goes:D
i m a bit torn there - the models are - like always of very good quality on these images. - but ...
i m not 100% certain if its beneficial to support the very stereotype of the faction. - give them junk ships - and they will practicly NEVER evolve past that state... how could they - when they fly ships that have holes everywhere.
furthermore - these ships are awesome "unique" pieces. - they will loose a lot of their character when you see them in a full wing. they look as if they are built totally individually and have taken individual damage in battle. - but when you see 4 or 8 of them at once you start to wonder "wow, - are these dumb rednecks actually BUILDING them with holes?"
a brandnew ship is "neutral" - it is meant to look like another brand new ship. - a beaten old ship is not meant to look like its neighbour. - so that look might soon start to become unconvincing and rather "comical".
on a last note. - it "feels" like especially the spikes are a bit "too much" - thick armour plating ... yes ... a much heavier look is a yes, too. - but spikes ... and such useless ones. - it is a fact that ships joust and pass very very close to each other - but then i d expect a long blade of at least hammerhead size to be attached to slice into the enemy ship and "break off" the ship that carried it ( like a one-shot-expendable-weapon )
about the general looks of the ships. - the base fighters and how they were modified is extremely well caught. - one can always see what ship they modified. - what all that does not transport is a feeling of anything that is even remotely agile. - all the ships look like it would be totally illogical to give them agility / turning stats even close to their parent base version but rather three times the armour and three times less agility - they look heavier than even corsair ships.

You could say the same thing about the junker shipline, but I dont see anyone complaining about those.
These ships look rusty, yes, but not necessarily 'beat up'. The paintjob is gone, a sign of wear and tear in the hostile environment xenos live in. They've added some spikes/armor plating both for aesthetic purposes as well as improved defense against opponents.
There's no reason that a faction like this would want shiny ships, IMO. Pyschological warfare is just as potent in space as it is anywhere else - a ship that looks like it's going to tear you apart and probably doesnt even need guns to do it is going to intimidate the opponent, sometimes fully into submission, and that works to the xeno advantage.

Read my above point, psychological warfare. In space you dont really have to worry about a little extra mass on your ship, it isnt going to effect performance as much as it would in atmospheric flight. The spikes are there to make the enemy piss their pants or lose focus during combat.

I'll take from another such example: the junker salvage frigate. It turns better than a lot of gunboats, and better than almost all transports, while being larger than most - on par with cruiser size.
Mass does not make a huge amount of difference in space, we have to balance ships for their shipclass, not for their appearance.
Though, I would support giving these ships more armor than their counterparts with slightly less manuverability.
EDIT:
BTW jinx, I dont see any holes in any of those models. There's some carbon scoring from enemy fire, but that's to be expected of ships that are involved in combat on a daily basis.

Bretonia Gunboat:
Max Angular Velocity: 0.500
Time to 90% Max Angular Speed: 0.4797
Zoner Destroyer:
Max Angular Velocity: 0.4333
Time to 90% Max Angular Speed: 0.4605
Salvage Frigate:
Max Angular Velocity: 0.400
Time to 90% Max Angular Speed: 0.4605
You gotta do some research before making statements like that, man.
