Outcast technology is peerless. Nuff said. - Commander of Outcast Destroyer "Vega.Nogara"
Seriously whoever designed the RH cruiser must of wanted all Hessians flying it to get one shotted. From the looks of it, a Javelin missile should be able to cut it in half.

Even
when the tech spreadsheet says on principle that Outcasts can freely use Red Hessian tech
it's not possible for an Outcast to get hand on the Vidar (Red Hessian Cruiser) legaly.
It's only sold in O-54, the Red Hessians guard system, where an Outcast can't go as it's far
off his ZOI.
Usually the only place where Outcasts can meet Red Hessians in RP is O-Gamma, and the
RH Cruiser is not sold there - simple as that.
Iit's also kind of strange to see a Red Hessian using Outcast guns and versus.
Quote: - Reputation relations between Outcasts and Red Hessians, Outcasts and Mollys reduced. Mollys and Red Hessians removed from Outcasts' list of allies
What will now happen to the Outcast Vidars?
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"
They better change to Outcast Destroyers - here's the new infocard:
Quote:This ship class has been committed into service only recently, and is still considered fairly unique. To see one outside the ranks of the Hessians would be unthinkable.
I have an LWB Guard tagged RH Cruiser, docked on Darmstadt Base in Stuttgart. I have had this ship since way back in the 4.84 days, and use him exclusively for missions out of that base. If I see someone on long-range scanners in Stuttgart, I usually spout some propaganda and express my hatred for the SynthFoods Corporation, but don't engage in any PvP combat. His only ZOI is Stuttgart, with the occasional trip to Saar to check out the new developments and rumors in the Eindhoven Depot Bar.
Though this character is used rarely, he is quite fun to fly. I have many hours and 100+ missions under his belt, and have developed a good background history for him (though not posted here on the forums).
What is to become of him I wonder?
You ask me why Im weary, why I cant speak to you.
You blame me for my silence, say Its time I changed and grew.
But the war's still going on dear, and theres no end that I know...
And I cant say if were ever...
I cant say if were ever gonna be free.
Seems to me that switching and buying a new cruiser would just be a waste of credits given the time and history I've put into him. Although a new twist in his plotline would be interesting, investing another chunk of credits into a character I don't often play seems rather silly to me.
No hope for a Grandfather Clause here I suppose?
A special RP license perhaps....

just a reminder - for all those that scream "ooRP to use other factions gear!"
this term goes both ways ( as recently seen in corsairs / order debatte ) - the char you re denying equipment and a ship today may very well be you the next time. once started, the restriction madness gets a life of its own and is not driven by roleplay at all anymore, but by jealousy and spite.
one outcast is forced to sell his red hessian cruiser today by a mob that calls him ooRP. - next time, a hessian might want to fly an outcast destroyer, cause ... HE thinks that it suits his kind of roleplay the very best. - and then the spoiled outcast steps in and "reminds" the hessian of what he was forced to do "in the name of roleplay".
and the unfairness of this all is.... maybe the hessian in question wasn t at all involved in the argument about faction restrictions or even on the outcasts side. - but after he experiences the very same, he ll certainly try to "apply the new standards" to others.
in that case - things have been "fixed" with a simple game mechanic change... but in general, players should be a bit cautious about what they re asking "others" to do.
