' Wrote:Also, I hated and still hate how the Infocard reads in paratheses "(limited)" for capships on pirate IDs. Why can't we just put:
Pirating in captial ships such as destroyers, frigates, cruisers, and battleships is STRICTLY prohibited.
That would cut down on the people who walk in and say, "Well, I didn't scan him for cargo, but I demanded cargo, so its OK." and make things A LOT clearer.
Salutations Devil-Cat
It would be better if it just said, "No pirating in Capitalships." A sentence all its own since having qualifier after demanding seems to only apply to demand and not scanning. In addition, this shall cover my "Loophole" as well:)
My compliments

P.S.S. I should have been Lawyer, but Mom would disown. Anyway, Devil-Cat if we went your way someone would point and say, "but, it doesn't say anything about Dreadnaughts!!!!"hehehe, yes should have been lawyer:)

And the general definition of Terrorism is to shoot first, ask questions later. No warning. Piracy, you're required to demand cargo/money before you *EVER* attempt to kill them.
@wolf Please Wolf, could you clarify? Your last sentence seems to say that doing terrorism with a CapS is allowed. I know that terrorist's IDs (at least as far as I know) do not allow to use CapS but given the ambiguity about the unlawfull activities allowed to freelancer ID, I would really appreciate a clarification about this point. Thanks in advance.

Terrorists can do pretty much whatever they want. Point in fact: PHantoms. THey can attack you in any vessel whatsoever and not give you a warning.
Pirates, however have a certain 'Rule" or "code of honor" if you will to abide by.
It makes no sense to limit terrorists, as they have free run, but due to the fact pirates have to DEMAND money or cargo in advance, it seems awfully unbalanced for them to use capital ships to force the point over.

K. More clear now. Thanks

I hereby kindly ask the admins, as soon as they read this post, to please spend 2 minutes of their time, if they will, to edit the official server rules thread in order to avoid having to discuss this same topic again every short while, and add the following sentence:
"No pirating whatsoever in any ship larger than a gunboat."
Would do it myself, but i can't. Feel free to point out any other additions there while you're at it, so these things will be clear once and for all.
Sorry to break this to you and i don't want to sound disrespectful, but as a newbie the only forum posts i'm in any way required to give a damn about are the ones in the server announcements section, and and eventually the stickies.
Actually i could go as far as to say that all i have to read as a player would be the server rules thread, everything else is optional unless the rules state otherwise (and they don't).
I'm the curious one and tend to read some discussions every once in a while, so i get across some of these details. Others don't, and they don't have to.
- Thank you

I do not agree, I'm sorry. This is supposed to be a Role-Playing server... not just a fly and shoot server. The forum is an important part of the role-playing. I'm honest... :mellow:I don't see how anybody could display a decent role-playing without reading, and sometimes even writing, the role-playing part of the forum. And the issue of piracy have been raised exactly in the role-playing thread the last two times.
For how matter the first part of your remark... in this thread has already been written at least 3 times that this stuff should be in the post about server rules (no need to say it the 4th), thus I'm sure that the admins will do it as soon as they will be able to do it... they are not paied thus nobody has the right to expect it will be done immediatly. But if you are in hurry you are free to hire an admin and PAY him for changing that post.

However there's a rule we have in place. Obey the admins. End-of-story.
If you prefer not to obey the admins spoke words, then you'll suffer the consequences. I REALLY hate to ban people for not following rules or just being ignorant and not listening to the admins, but think about this:
If Military commander gives you an order, even if it's not written, You follow it. Why? It's a *COMMAND* from a superior officer. If you don't follow it, you are arrested for insobournation and end up spending weeks cleaning the bathrooms with a toothbrush.
On this server, You either obey the admins even if the rules they put down are not written in the server rules.
Regardless of your opinions. The word of the server admins are the *LAW* on the server. There is no other option. Either listen and follow.. or suffer the consequences.

If a military commander gives me an order when i'm not on duty (any day outside the yearly three weeks of military service duty coming up for me next month or an eventual but unlikely start of a war involving my country) i'll ignore him, tell him to **** off, or beat the crap out of him if i want to.
And i have every right to do so. Well, the law might disagree on the beating up part, but that won't have anything to do with the fact that he's my superior while in military service, in civil life and right he's not superior to me, or anyone else for that matter. period.
I believe the rules thread is the order i have to follow during duty (= playtime on your server), and the rest is off time i can spend however i feel like, as long as i don't break civil law. This includes, but doesen't have to be reading the rest of the threads in these very forums.
That's why i insisted to point it out once more with my post, and that's why i'm thankful you went out of your way to tell me about the upcoming update on the rules.
Of course this is your server and you are dictating the rules, and i'll just have to suck it up if i ever break a rule i never knew about because i didn't read the whole effing forums while i thought all that was important were the rules in that thread that reads "discovery server rules" and never ever looked at the rest of the forums. No matter how much effort i put into obeying the clearly stated ones.

Ok... so the same identical thing has been (without any need) repeated for the 5th time. Are you going to repeat it also the 6th or are you going to say something new?
