' Wrote:Nova torpedoes don't blow up to cds, unless specifically targetted. Novas aren't bad - just you have to be careful using them. If you are careful and use them well, you'll find they're great at killing or stripping big caps than supernovas.
The delay is so that the nova torpedoes don't kill fighters, bombers and gunboats easily in jousts.
Then explain how they're blowing up in my face! I fire them and turn away instantly to try and maneuver and evade capital fire...
I've taken a crap load of CD's coming close to a capital with my Nova launcher, its hilarious that even when I come under of behind the darn thing, they still hit me and kill me...:(
I've managed to kill a fighter with a Nova by ramming them, before...only reason I died was my reluctance to use shield bats...
TBH, I'm not seeing the "awesomeness" in any of these new weapons, Novas, Screamers, etc...stick to the good old SN/TCD loadout...much more predictable and versatile.
The SNAC is an energy-based gun, not an ammo-based torpedo. Can't have the hangfire, as far as I know.

Um? What? What the Nova does is, you press the trigger (with the energy you need and refire delay passed) and the torpedo flies in a straight line for a while and waits for the engines to kick in.
' Wrote:Not that I can hit a gunboat with the damn thing, but they're fun against transports and cruisers... Uh... If those don't move either.
A pair of Nova Torps really hurts 'em if they just you. Insta their shields on the first pass, then their hull on the next. Of course, that not only requires them to be an idiot but usually results in you instakilling yourself as well.
