So what u suggest for us to do?
Weaps things i have covered...
But i do not agree on ship issue with you...
Quote:Talarca cruiser is a rare ship presumablybulit by Blood Dragons. Its origin remains unknown;
some say its based upon early Kusari gunboat prototype, some assume it was constructed by ancient
alien race. Classified between cruisers and gunboats, Talarca is cheap and efficient capital ship used mostly by Freelancers.
I quoted that in faction thread...
Just because it is sold on Blood Dragons base it doesn't mean it is pirate ship... RH bomber is also sold on pirate base and it isn't pirate ship. I bet if i do some exploring i can name some more examples of this. The fact that Talarca isn't sold anywhere else may have been intension but also may be mistake..just like RHB on pirate base.
Read description of the Talarca..that is what describes what ship is suppose to be for, not place where it is sold...read especially last part of it...this ship is only presumably built by Blood dragons...And this part works with our RP just fine: some assume it was constructed by ancient alien race...maybe it is constructed by our ancesters Gods of Kobol.
To be honest i really don have any idea what other ship instead of Talarcas we could use...that ship rarely seen in space anyway..and when i first got told about that idea i must say i liked it..but if anybody have any other ideas...we are open for suggestions...
Doom, your reasons are wrong, first, the Rh Bomber is sold in Omega-15 on a Rheinland Military battleship AND on Yaren. The fact that's going to change, I hope.
Second, no matter by whom the Talarca is made, it's sold by the Blood Dragons. It's a glitch in the game empathy that makes the Blood Dragon friends with the BAF.
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
Nightfall, as much as I agree with you about RP, it's another case of practice vs. policy.
Sure, it may not be RP and is just a glitch that the BD are friendly with the BAF, but THEY ARE STILL FRIENDLY.
You cannot possibly expect someone to walk in, check their ratings with each faction and assume that this is a glitch. You can assume this ONCE you make a post in the forums stating all the faction alignment glitches, however.
The Talarca does seem very much like the Gunstar. I think that the BSG should be able to keep the ship, but they should get rid of their outcast guns. Like Doom himself stated, the reason he uses them is because they are awesome.(Paraphrasing here.)
That SHOULD NOT be the reason for one to use a particular weapons, ESPECIALLY since this is an RP server.

The only time the fact of the faction's reputation with the PLAYER has anything to do with ship/equipment usage, is when the player is a freelancer.
Again, as I've said numerous times. When you are part of a player faction, your rep goes along with your HOST'S rep. BSG is Planetform. It doesn't matter if the players got friendly with Blood Dragons because they shot KNF, the fact is that Planetform is still hostile to the Blood Dragons. No way around that. Using a Blood Dragon ship goes against your own alignment.

Oh, get off your high horse, Dab. You're hardly tall enough to reach its belly.
Stick this in your bubble pipe. Our Epopt to the Blood Dragons, Count Beau Coup of the Church of Eris (POEE), just "happens" to have a nice line on the alien craft which was before, hereinafter, and hence knnown as the Colonial "Gunstar". With generous backing from 1st Flax and Warbucks LLC, there is a standing order for 6 ea. "Gunstar" Class alien cruisers, which may or may not be completely filled, depending on the wihims of our client, the People of the Twelve Colonies.
Now since I'm doing this in an "OOC" forum, just to shut you up, Dab, the information is fair game for any of you wankers who want to whiss and moan further about "appropriate" this and "in-character" that. Take it to the game, and quit wasting bandwidth.
And btw, for some reason, the GC seem to like our money just as well as the next faction.

I still say that due to its description it isn't Blood dragon ship...
If i buy Mercedes in USA, that doesn't make it American car.
We have difference of opinion and lets leave it on that.
I asked for any suggestions about which ships to be used instead but i got no answer. So until we find another ship that suits our needs or i get an order to replace Talarca with Battlestar, Talarcas stay on our ship lists.
This is weaps thread so lets get back on topic.
I found some nice order weaps...and now i am experimenting with them. I wish to know is Order lawful, semi lawful or unlawful faction. Also i wish to hear your reaction on this here, on forum before u meet my fighter in game. My fighter in only one equiped with those kind of weaps and atm only for testing purpose. Also, some of my members like Nomad weaps...i would like opinion on that too...
I also have some other lawfull weaps that i will test in next few days.
"So I don't see what the problem with ships is, you can't stop people using whatever ship they like for whatever reason."
I would believe that there ARE inappropriate ships, however the mod and server rules dont regulate such things. I still don't believe our ship list is inappropriate. The president has made it clear that if the raptor is added to the mod we would restrict our ships even further than they already are. Imagine that, a 20 person faction with a 3 ship list.
"As for the weapons, not much we can do about it."
Sure there is. Even as we speak Doom is looking at different ship loads. Even given the fact that you can loot a cracken quite easily from NPCs, we are still looking at switching.
"Personally it's not only that your using all outcast weapons, but it's the fact that your using guns that work brilliantly against graviton shields.[/quote]
Thats not the primary reason we used the Kraken. And I don't see anyone switching their sheild type when they fight us-if they did, we would have kept our weapons the same anyways."
"The britonians have particle weapons as good as the outcast ones, I should know I've been on the receiving end of the NPC templars often enough."
I don't believe the Bret ones are as powerful, it just hurts when you get attacked by templars because they come in swarms.
Let me take this in another direction.
The main problem with how many =BSG= have loaded their viper to this day is the use of the inferno canon, not the kraken. Since the Kraken is easily lootable (just like the tizzy or the nomad) it is fair game.
The fighter version of the inferno, I'm told, has been moved to Malta and Ibizza from Gammu in a recent mod update. Where before all of the infernos could be bought by everyone on a nuetral planet, now you have to be friendly with the Outcasts to get it. Capital ship infernos still say they are Outcast weapons on the infocard, but they remain available to everyone regardless of reputation or affiliation I'm guessing because all the lawful cap ship drivers would throw a fit if the favorite sheild buster were off limits to them but not their adversaries. The only reason moving the fighter inferno to Malta only did not create such a furor is that everyone and the mother prefers the Nova on their VHF-everyone except BSG.
Up untill now =BSG= used 3 lines of reasoning to justify the inferno's use on the viper: 1)fictional arms dealers, 2)the broad availability of cap ship infernos implies the seclusion of the fighter inferno is an error and 3)the afore mentioned friendliness with the Outcasts.
Allow me to add to that list personally. 4)After months of griping about the viper hit box it was nerfed-not only the hit box was changed but the steering torque was reduced to something slightly more than a bomber's. Now the infocard on the viper is wrong as it says the Viper is a highly maneuverable VHF when its actually one of the worst turners now. Some of us even believe the Wrath VHF turns faster than the viper, or the Neph, which both have more armor/nanos.
So here we are. A non-vanilla faction with a vanilla ID trying very hard to blend into the disco universe amidst a sea of players in vanilla ships that dont match their vanilla IDs and inapropriate weapons. No one said a word to us about our choices back when [CR] had a roster of 6. Its only now that our roster is 20+ that we get the complaints. No matter. We will adjust our fighters and bombers. We don't know how we are going to do it yet so you will still see Outcast weapons for a week or so, but we will switch when we find a suitable configuration.
I wanted to stay out of this as much as I can, but I see a problem with the reasoning here.
I'll start with Doom's point on the Mercedes. True, you could buy a Mercedes in the US, but we're actually talking about buying a Mercedes from Al Qaeda here (sorry for the comparison, but that was the first association). Blood Dragons are terrorists, would a corporation (in a way) known to be affiliated with the US Army go buy a car from Al Qaeda? No flaming here, just logic and common sense.
Also, the Talarca seems to be a little bit overpowered or too fast, I didn't check that myself, but whoever I talked to about it, said pretty much the same. Also, following 'the logic of the most 1337 gun in the mod' your choice isn't much of a surprise.
Moving to the Viper, the problem with the hitbox still exists though it's diminished greatly. The low armor rating has a reason of it's own - it's called damage multiplying. Any Vanilla ship will receive much more damage from explosions than any non-Vanilla ship, hence the lower armor rating: immunity to missiles and mines. Same happened to the Talon, Raven Claw and Raven's Talon. Also, same reason why the Battlestars and other non Vanilla modeled ships got 'nerfed' in the armor department.
As for guns, what can I say? Pretty much the same as Talarca. Shell Inc. buying weapons from Al Qaeda? Hell, it should be the other way 'round.
In the end, Mal. My malreligious friend, you are becoming greyfaced in your attempts to color the grayfaces. Falling in your own trap?
edit: Once again, I'm saying that I'm not flaming. I'm trying to help you all find a solution. I can't suggest any (I don't even have one for that matter) as it would be 'Nightfall said so' and I don't want it to be that way. The answer is within you people, you just need to reach deep enough to find it.

Well i knew that u will use that exactly comparison for my mercedes thingie...
I agree american couldn't buy mercedes from Al Qaeda, but maybe russian would...or chinaese...or japanese...or any other nation or organization against who they dont hold a grudge...and reputation puts us in that position...not direct enemie...but never mind..i said that talarca will stay on ship list until better solution is found and that is it...
Talarca has very weak hull in comparison to other non FL cruisers...also it has only 8 weps and can be used as only anti cap ship or anti fighter ship..there are no slots for using it for both purposes...
It is faster then other cruisers...but it is not too fast..it is fast enough....i use one for 4 months now...it had mutilple pvps and RP fights and no one complained that it is overpowered...quite opposite...they always wondered why we use that ship...
We appreciate any help we can get, especiall from u as u are one of the "oldest" members here...but only things we got are bad critiques about our RP and how we overpower our ships...
