Ahm they got Char Manager client - forum based that is connected with the Game- I haven't played there since couple of years but as far as I remember it is there since 2004-2005 or so. Discovery just does not want to use the stuff that other mods do- in order not to kill them- however HHC have 10 people on right now and Disco have 92- just checked so ye we cannot have everything.
About the reping- the Rep Hacks used in Discovery since 2009 if I am not wrong are able to give your IFF and make the faction of the mounted ID fully green using +9 force rep- so the whole time consuming useless mission grinding to get rep and guard rep is bad joke troll style with the players made from the Dev team.
Interesting fact is that all closed factions use this feature since it is implemented- they use it now as well- you can check the rep hack chart if you does not believe me.
It would be nice enough to have balanced equipment and properly balanced Bases /devices produced by bases-dreams dreams....

Make it so that the game deploys a small container outside your start up station (by means of FLhook magic? Dunno, not versed enough in FLHook coding, soru) from which you collect the cargo.
It's not supposed to be trade missions, as such, but more of a courier jobs.
So, you bend the mechanics of the missions that require to arrest someone. Just assign the home base as something n systems away of the same faction.
I said something previously because I thought people were wanting to "trade" with missions.
All what someone could potentially do is do what you said, and take the commodity back, but that's not real trading. Real trading is going from dealer to dealer. Not dealer-space-same dealer.

The idea is to do small missions for reputation, not for money.
Missions now are all combat-centered. Trade factions need missions that are trade-centered. Comprende?
Really like the idea of trading to rep up. I once thought about how it might be possible for it to just happen whenever youu trade, instead of just for missions so that the more you bought and sold at stations, the moe the rep would go up with the owners of the station. However, I don't know how easy it woud be to code it so you couldn't just sit on a base and buy/sell a commodity until you had ful green rep. Missions are a nice idea though, since as it has already been said you could have escort missions too.
