That said, I think the rules should be bent a little in this case. What if the no reengagement rule was kept, but lawfuls (LPI, LN, LSF) could stay in New York?

Pirates having space superiority over a Capital system is ridiculous. Yep, life is supposed to be tough, but get a civilian character sometime and note the names of those who show up, both sides, and you will see what I am talking about.

guys what it really comes down to is role play. i have seen TERRIBLE role play on both sides. pirates that do the 2milordie pew pew pew AND the traders that have a strict policy of non-communication and refuse to play along. ive also seen great RP on both sides too with pirates acting like pirates should all cocky and arrogant and traders being fearful and actually valuing their lives. personally i dont think this post should be just piracy 101, it should be piracy and trading 101 because they go so hand in hand. i think a lot of people on both sides have a lot to learn about proper er..."etiquette"

Agreed. It's so rediculously common for traders to try and run. Then I shot them to get their attention. Then they go pewpewpew and kill me before I even realize they're gonna shoot back, and fly off without a word. Their excuse it usually 'You attacked me first" Well no duh I attacked you, I said stop and you didn't stop.
