Anyways, about to get off topic. I think of it like this - the Shire would probably be able to survive the Kusari Battleship's barrage of fire outside the Tau-31 JG, whereas the Percheron might only survive in-game because its invincibility from docking cinema. They'd be firing continuously on the side of the ship while its undergoing a jump and that's why the armor appeals to me. If I were trying to go for insertion of troops tactically speaking, I'd most definitely go for something smaller, but as it stands, I'm aiming for something that could survive by simply bypassing the enemy defenses.
Well, I think this is all fine and well, but, why would the BAF go directly through the KNF when they could either use Dundee to slip across the battlefield or use the Edinburgh-Tau 31 JH to go through completely undetected. It makes more sense to me to do one of these things, rather than go through enemy defenses. Stealth is how blockades are broken, not blatantly big ships.
This line of thought also makes thing that cargo ships wouldn't be used as troop carriers. Armored Transports really would be. For such a small space, they really are heavily armored. They're smaller, more maneuverable, and able to evade much better than bulkier ships. I always thought those would be the troop carriers...
But, yes, BowEx would be the one to deliver stuff to the MacDuff. Damn government interfering with Gateway's contract to supply Harris...
