Phantoms have a RP thingy that basically allows them to shoot everything for no reason. They are the embodiment of the discovery spirit.
Phantoms is admins, looking cool and genetically superior in pvp by taking the coolest ships and uberweapons.
They also like to whine and cheat. I mean they dont.
The only phantom I was impressed by is actually not a real phantom since he isnt an admin, but an import and sounds like a cattle prod.
The others gank, engage without notice, and so on and so forth. Oh... did I mention they are the coolest people ever? Kudos! Nice ships! Did you design them?

but they never seem to be near, especially since the dramatic loss of NPC's since 4.85, by the way, why did that happen, i prefer more NPC's

I am really curius, what exactly are phantoms? i've only seen them in one system with the temple of revenant beeing the only base, and they use outcast ships and such, but what are they? Space Zombies?

OK first. all those who have it against the phantoms, get your facts straight without filling the boards with your anti admin sentiment.

That does not help anyone.

Secondly, Kane set it up BEFORE he was an admin. (I think)
Thirdly, there are more regular players in it than admins.
300thly, if you actually read the backstory and the dates of when they were set up, things start to make sense.

Too many people just jump on a flame bandwagon without actually READING teh damned stories.

Look at admin list and look at phantom-wiki list. Does it matter what is in RP stories and 'the past'?
