i think you get the general idea, people write such names on their boats, its just diffirent if its a company or military ship that has to follow a certain naming pattern.

Well most of the names would be sanctioned or changed by admins for being very inapropiate, so what those boats show is against discovery rules so thats a bad thing to post.

What's really weird is when there's a character with the same name as someone you know in real life.

The boat pictures speak the truth, BUT

Its not the boat talking to you, its the captain, and i honestly dont want to say "Thats true Mr.I.pew.pew.Rocks"
Every Ship has a captain, the smaller ships mostly have names of their captains + the faction tag as we already know. Or do you want to have a Transport with the name "Ageira|John.Thomson"? It still depends on the players role play. For example we have the LNS-Aurora with Catptain Aurora.

Other people as me use their names on the beginning of their message.

Which is for me the best thing you can do with a bigger ship. A Battleship is not flown by one Person as everyone should know. Even the Auroch, Gallian Freighter with 800 Cargo if i remember correct has 2 Pilots and the Rheinland Freighter (not the Humpback) has 4.
