Herein lies a good point.

The Corsair Council seems to have died, essentially.

That organization would have been a good basis for something similar to the "SHIZL".. a group of Faction Leaders who at least attempt to coordinate the "Faction Leader Rights" for an npc group, both faction and Indie.

The prime directive of the "Faction Leader Rights" thingie is to mentor, wherever possible. And, in extreme cases, to take corrective action, up to and including request for Admn intervention; thereby helping our thinly-stretched Admins in regulating chaotic situations which (ONoes!!!) "harm server gameplay"....

Instead, we see old and respected Leaders of the Council running from Gamma with their hair on fire, throwing hands in the air, and generally letting it go to the "peritos".

Now, I don't know if there are "behind the scenes" chats still going on between OPG, Benitez, and TBH. I don't know if the Council of Corsairs in it's "old" form can be revived in roleplay, or if the Faction Leaders even want it to be.

It would be a step in the right direction to consider its revival, imho.

Even if we brought back the Corsair Council, how are you going to take the Lolcaps away from all of the indies? There's no way a Spanish speaking 13 year old who just powertraded for 2 weeks is going to listen to a guy flying around in a Titan telling him what to do.. it would take admin action..

Chill,dude.I think you're taking Gentle's post the wrong way.

I don't think I've even set foot in Gamma the last couple of weeks,ever since I realised that I can get *actual* RP with coherent sentences and everything just by moving one system over to Theta.It's amazing the difference it makes.

Sure,you can get nice RP in Gamma,but it's somewhat of a rarity.

I'm not saying "take them away".. (that's pretty much out the window, along with "Right 5", unless an Admin can be convinced there's abuse involved..) I'm saying teach them "how to use" those caps. I'm saying that Faction Leaders do have the right to guide roleplay, and a responsibility to teach, usually by example, but sometimes by the "stick", if needs be.

And how will you know, if you don't make the attempt?

This seems to explain a lot. Once, when I went in with my BHG Bomber, I got cap spammed and outnumbered 5 to 1. It was me, maybe 5 other BHG fighters/bombers, and only 1 (yes, ONE. The BHG don't always cap whore for those of you who still believe that stereotype) BHG Battleship. There were roughly 5 Dreadnoughts and Osirises there and they all ambushed us with another 20 fighters, bombers, and gunboats. In short, it was not fun. When the BHG Battlehip went down, the caps continued to fire at us and it took admin intervention (in this case, from Laowai) to get the caps to stop. It seems while I was inactive, Gamma has degenerated into a pit of lolwut cap whores that are worse than the BHG now.

Gamma? What is this "Gamma" you speak of?

The Brotherhood is basing it's operations out of Mindelo base in Omega 50. I haven't been to the eastern half of the Imperio del Corsario in months.

Also, search through the forums, we did have a capship registration, and it was killed just like the Outcast one.

What!?!? Is this why everytime I log on to my TBH character that no one's in Gamma? If so, I am moving my TBH characters to Omega-50.

Easy, he only meant the lolwut cap whores. There are still some indies who RP quite well.

first time i came to gamma the only thing i saw was OOC "lol:)"
and more.. not one word of RP.. but it seems that alpha is not better now days... and gamma is not always like i just described..

So the only thing we can do it to explain to those who do not RP how they should improve their gameplay to improve all of our fun and RP,
