heck..it has the smallest size, with thruster(i think?), med-BS powerplant, 14 turrets, ZOMFG, the best BS in game! (no, i dont like kusaris caps at all, just saying this simply from the stats)

And also, has the Imperial Yacht ever been involved in a battle when its not in self defense?

If the first two questions are yes, and the third a no. Then you can probably guess why it is so strong.

I have to agree, hunting and killing Eppy's liner is always fun. Brings cheer and sunshine to everyone involved. Remove cd's from npc's not in guard systems, I fail to understand the purpose.
