Eppy! I see I'm not the only one crazy enough to mount a Cap 8 on my Liner?
Don't expect anything productive from the people 'round here, no matter how threatening you make yourself. That would make it too hard for Liners to be mugged by the Mongreltrans pirates. I'm afraid you may have to resign yourself to some ninja-repfixing.
Now it's decommissioned because of most of the reasons above.
The problem with buffing liners is there will be a public crucifixion of anyone flying them after they've been buffed. Liners were nerfed HARD during the x.86 betas, mainly because of the loltraders flying around in OSC-ID'd LuxLiners hauling raw materials (gold, niobium, etc).
Now I was very much a vocal proponent of limiting what liners hauled to a certain set of commodities, and was not alone in this venture. But the answer the balance "team" seemed to think was best was to take the armor down to a paltry level, making them the equivalent of flying beer-cans; easily crushed.
That being said...i doubt that anything will be done to liners (and consequently, transports as a whole) b/c of other attitudes and opinions that are dominating the decisions of the devs at this moment.

You know, it's not the armor I'm having the most problem with - it's the COMPLETE lack of agility and the fact that the transport turrets, because the damn things are so BIG, can't hold a bead on anything. They can't dodge, they can't turn past enough, to make their 'superior' armament worth anything.
I think I've got a solution for my personal predicament, though. It's kind of cheap, but oh well. It's not like I'm not working my tail off for it. *evil cackle*

I'm with you on this Eppy, I remember my Liners before jake SOLD or KILLed them, But I've seen the same problem.
I was in my pirate Gunboat and watched a Hacker Fighter take down a Royal Liner.
Liners should be made "Deadly" as they have precious cargo, Humans, those passengers are paying top dollar to get ferried to Kusari safely not in a Liner that can be killed by a bunch of brain dead NPCs,

Unlike me, I'm pro at making it look like I actually have an opinion on the topic.
Except in this post.
I'm feeling rebellious.

Sorry son, but in this case we disagree. Liners and the larger transports should turn horribly. Displacing that much mass in a new direction, added to the fact that the cargo needs to be protected (it's got it's own inertia).
Turret mode is how these behemoths fight. Yeah, you fly in a straight line, that's the tradeoff.
But at the moment, yes, this is ineffective because of the utter lack of defensive (or offensive, if you prefer) capabilities.
