Or having some occasional Freelancer bases built out in the frontier. Could be interesting for mining if there were various metals that were uncommon in bulk in Sirius there to be mined, but not any place that bought or sold things. Well, maybe some stations just on the other side.
About Nexus:
Go and ask the Shattered Worlds Devs, the last time i played that mod i couldn't use Datastorm. It did not recognize the mod or something, dunno what exactly.
About Ktayn:
On the Vanguard 2 Mod (Antares), they have created a whole new sector, Antares. All old systems are still there, just in an edge of the map. Well, not in an edge, both have about 50/50 of the Nav map.
Then there is the Battle for Mankind they created a whole new Nav map. I'm not sure if i'm allowed to show it here, but i will.BFM-Map
The places we know as Vanilla-Sirius is located somewhere in the lower left corner. And yes, it is a Stargate Mod.

In a brilliant tactical movement, i charged backwards.
If the systems are just to create a part of wilderness, where pilots can feel the absence of civilisation and admire scenery, I don't think we need to disable Datastorm. Those who use it will just hurt themselves. Those who want to explore wilderness will have the choice of not spoiling it for themselves.
We should keep some (I'd say most) of these systems uninhabited even for future versions, not allowing settlement.
I think in addition to having a couple unsettled locations, having some "end of the road" type systems would be good, too. Edinburgh and Dublin originally fit that role in Bretonia, for instance, but Dublin is more a pathway to Omega-49 now and Edinburgh has been suggested as a place to logically have some expansions.
But those systems that are at the end of the safety of the gate system and have a base that's barely protected and against the hazards of space (like Omega-11) is a pretty neat sort of system. Even then, one or two more would be great. Something in Bretonia and a place like Alberta perhaps would work great in that capacity.
