Then perhaps that is becuase i belive that somthing needs to be done? Caps got a buff, armor and sheild wise, and gun wise. But bombers STILL can snac fighters, still can tank 2 vhfs gunning for them long enough to do succesful bombing runs, and STILL can wreck most things if given the chance, which they have alot of.

Because Bomber Pilots are STILL very skilled.
They are STILL capable of SNAC'ing even with firing arc nerf.
And Fighters are STILL sometimes bad enough to eat one.

I think most bombers are fine. You cant really say they can fulfill fighter role, as long as you fight against decent pilots, you will die in a bomber if you do that.
I agree that fighters are not able to take out specific bombers fast enough. Except the super bombers and a few heavy bombers, they usually can survive long enough to do the needed damage with 1-2 fighters on their tail.
Only thing I would agree to be changed is their weapons. The idea was presented long ago. The currently unused class 6 turrets would be bomber-only. This is to prevent using fighter weapons and also missiles. The turrets would be specifically designed to be anticap. Probably some slow refire, slow speed high damage shieldbusters.
With that you could increase fighter gun speed, but the bombers wouldnt get any benefit from that.
To discuss this matter we need to seperate 2 things
1. Duels
2. Group fights
I believe bomber - fighter balance is fine in group fights, if couple of fighters start focusing on one bomber it will go down sooner or later. If couple of bombers start chasing one fighter, they will have hard time to do any damage, unless fighter decides to joust. I am talking about equally skilled pilots ofc.
Duels - Bombers have very good chances to win. They have monster hull, stripping fighters shield with quad shieldbusters do not require any skill, and SNAC should hit sooner or later even in hands of complete noob.
Also explosives do not remove guns anywhere near as fast as they did in 4.84 - bad news for fighters, good for bombers.
What I do is this - I only duel bombers when I train. In `real` fights I view them as something closer to gunboat, not fighter, as something that needs at least two fighters to deal with.
I see no problem with balance as long as bomber pilot doesn`t insist on `fair` 1v1. In my book it is not `fair`, more like long and boring. Most retarded thing - which I see often - bomber duels fighter, takes out shield with quad shieldbusters and then whines `u shieldrunner`.
To sum it up - to have fun in a fighter, you need a buddie. 2 Good VHF pilots > everything below destroyer.
The special guns for a bomber... yes, I agree with that. They can be done so they don't nerf anti-cap abilities but limit anti-fighter abilities ... or at least demand more of the crazy skills the best bomber pilots already have. Some people here hit with just about anything...
