I always enjoy having a run-in with your fighters when I'm in my big, mean Cap 8 Liner. That could be because the sheer size of the thing seems to scare* them to the point that I come out of it alive, but usually there's some kind of amusement involved, with minimum humiliation for me.
My advice, although it seems you're already doing so, is take the complains of the raging nubtards with a grain of salt. Most often while they claim y'all don't RP, they're simply pissed because they've found out you can potentially kill anyone, and then found that they're unable to join. Those kinds of people are exactly the ones you don't want with aforementioned pontential.
*Not the best word. Couldn't think of the right one :/
Also keep in mind that Aki was outside of Sirius borders when her abduction occurred.
in other words what your saying is you decided yourself that they abducted your character without even asking the base factions permission to use them 1st.
metagame much mate?
back on topic, thanks for the good answer Virus bud.
I was also gonna state that the whole 'empire' name is a bit big sounding for the actual factions size and influence in sirius... but you also stated that the you where reducing the c tan's size alot ... so will this inturn effect the phantoms "empire" status. Or will that stay?
EDIT: its nit pickery at best i know, but i am all about the cosmetics.

I'm sorry, but the C'Tan remain in the next Galaxy over or even perhaps the next dimension over. I'm fairly certain it'd be rather difficult to get there.
Regardless, everything is up in the air about the Phantom lore now that I am in charge and Kane is gone and oh god oh god I don't know what to do with it all. Rewriting the entire back story is so much fun. -.-

True. However, the majority of forum-goers don't fall into this category of "nutard."
Hesitant may be the word you're looking for. Though, watching Pitchfork tear one of those to pieces in a Slipstream/Penumbra is always entertaining.

It was his Saber that let me live, although he may have had an Inferno mounted:P

Ninja'd me.
Empire name... Possible. Not much to replace it with, and "The Phantoms" as a full name seems.. Weak. the "C'Tan" will likely remain an "Empire" and probably control a planet or solar system a Galaxy over or so. Phantoms... Hm. Good point. Any suggestions? Name just sort has a nice ring to it as is. If you have anything better, I'd be glad to hear it.

Maybe you should address that to the dozens of people who decide to play nomad morphs or infested humans every day on this server. I dont need faction permission to write a story.
Besides, there is very little written lore around here regarding the C'tan. The phantoms have some, but they mostly focus on their own individual role as part of the C'tan empire - and I do know from the backstory they do have posted that the C'tan Empire consists of dozens of races either enslaved or willingly working for the C'tan themselves. There is a lot of potential to tap into.
I dont like exclusive RP, and while it is necessary to restrict the ability to "freely pvpwhore" to certain players as the wild, keeper, and phantom factions do, I dont like the idea that those tiny little insignificant groups are the only ones capable of coming up with RP about anything that doesnt directly fit vanilla roles among the freelancer factions.

As I said above, the whole C'Tan "Empire" is up in the air regarding it's size, effectiveness, and interest in humanity. Regardless, the Phantoms are the only C'Tan project in Sirius and the surrounding systems (of which would likely be filled with Nomads, considering every uncharted system has been empty or Nomad-controlled).
The C'Tan aren't supposed to be major players in anything. They aren't even supposed to playable NPCs in role play. They're sort of like the "gods" of the Phantoms. We're a different sort of religious zealots, following their will to the best of our abilities.
And, as I update the Phantom lore and role-play, you'll notice the C'Tan taking a smaller and smaller role as time goes on. If possible, I'd almost like to get rid of them beyond being the "overlords" of the Phantoms.

The focus of my story wasnt going to be on the C'tan anyway, they're just the ones that ignited it. The focus was to be on an as of yet unknown alien race that's fighting (and losing) a war against the expanding C'tan empire, and is looking to humans for help.
EDIT:
Who actually abducted Aki is still to be decided, the C'tan were my first choice but it may still end up being one of their underling races. The way I see it, the C'tan use a myriad of lesser alien races to do their work - just like they're using the phantoms to try and cause a little chaos in Sirius before their main fleet comes in to wipe humanity out and enslave whatever's left. The phantoms are just a vanguard.

Well... Close, I suppose. As it currently stands that is close. In my head (and likely, the future role-play) the Phantoms are likely the last attempt at gaining an army in a losing war (perhaps civil war?). I'm inclined to believe that shortly after the C'tan made contact with Dark Star and initiated the Enlightenment program in Sirius, the C'Tan who knew about the project (or perhaps the whole race) was destroyed. Of course, what I'm inclined to believe may become what is the lore so... Yeah.
