' Wrote:Heres an Idea. Instead of owning a sytem why cant a faction dominate it. make it known it their turf (like a street gang). I know in the vanilla (as you call it) version each faction has a region to roam. ie Liberty Rouges in Liberty etc. If you are a Zoner or Junker for example you have a numerous outposts bases and planet you could call home.
Then that would solve the problem with traders avoiding trade routes. A perfect example would be the kepler and galieo systems. whoever dominates there will control a criticle route from Liberty to Kusari, And traders who want to run vips from manhatten to planet Tokyo would have to take that route or be forced to go through Britonia then the Tau systems.
If this sounds crazy let me know.

System domination was done before.
I remember that era. AW had like 8+ systems under control, factions could dictate laws at will... It didn't go well. We had flames about who owned what and what rules to impose, etc. We then made the current rules.

(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
BSG is currently working on the drawing of a system, and the gathering of the funds, custom systems are allowed right? and when will they be integrated into the mod?
Ok, let's just make sure I have this straight. Non-npc aligned factions would be able to buy a guard system? Because I feel like I'm missing something here...
Well, I was wondering how a non-aligned faction could buy a guard system... time to either go seaching the Edge Worlds or trying to find some neutral NPC faction.
You Would Buy the Guard system. Vanilla Systems are not allowed to be bought, they are only count as being in your sphere of influence not directly under your control.
aye, example HF owns Vesspucci but influences magellan and Cortez?, and SA owns Virginia and influences Texas and California. AW owns a guard system I think and directly influences O-Theta and couple of others if I remember correctly, but I have rarely hungout in rim since Dec. 06.

P.S. well Vanilla not allowed anymore. Remember RM and SF own NB and Cambridge, right?
P.S.S. ok scratch AW's ownership. Seems they own Theta and influence surrounding systems. RM owns NB and patrols rest of Rheinland, as is true of SF in relation to Bretonian systems. The SA has limited itself to Virginia, Texas, and California for other reasons, but mostly to allow for balance and for other factions to possibly to arise along other Liberty factions, ie LSF and LPI.
AW owns Omicron-74, and has direct control over Omicron Theta. Wartime zones of influence (basically where we can scan traders if we are at war, to keep security, etc) would be the Sigmas, Tau-37, Omicron Alpha, and we already have full control of Theta.
SA technically also controls Colorado. If another Liberty faction started up, you would simply work together to police all of Liberty.
RM owns the RM guard system, and has full control of NB, and control of surrounding systems, as with SF and the BAF as they are house factions.
You may own a system, but your going to have to be aligned in some way to an NPC faction thats present there. So Outcast tagged faction wouldn't have Junker guard system. But they could own a empty (or modded up) system with Outcasts in it. You simply cannot own anything with a generic ID such as Mercenary, Trader, or Military ID.
