Angel Sass
Same for me, except I am away from FL for another week from now, I think, and have been away from it for around two weeks or so. (I cannot remember, I needed this holiday.)
Post from my shift yesterday. Met some groovy pilots including Golem, Eden.Rising, Felix.Raab, HellStorm, Captain.Diego, Anub'arak, Dogfight, Warior, and Lord_Dilanda.
Gave out some nice trade routes to Kusari, helped a fellow with an IFF problem while trying to get the Gaian guard rep, transferred some gear in Connecticut, and tried to contact a fellow who had a civi ID'd Manta with Xeno and Corsair guns--interesting gear setup. Admiral Hale set him straight.
Fellow asked me if he could use an Order gunboat with a Rogue ID since it was the best gunboat. I said "No" and directed him to the Tridente. Though I think the Scorpion is up there with the "best".
Here's a nice quote:
"You should tell yourself frequently, I will only react to constructive suggestions, for this gives you some protection against your own negative thoughts and those of others."
Helped or spoke with quite a few pilots over the weekend including Primeros, Nine, RepEx|Conrad.Decker, Pikmin, ave, Baryonyx, Attila, Jane, Jaywalker, Tirium, Drz_Nedaj, Thor, and JC|Fridge.
Answered questions on where to get mining turrets, how to get into Gallia and the bribes there, ship upgrades including the Clydesdale, basic questions on HUD operation, viewing system maps, mining, game exit, and account problems after reinstalling Windows.
Received a nice donation and well wishes from Chris.Able of Ables_Aces.
I took a little trip down to Rheinland to watch the military maneuvers of [RM]-Ravensburg and her support squadron in New Berlin. I highly recommend any pilot reading this to consider applying to the Rheinland Military. The military academy on New Berlin is top rate. See the Rheinland Military faction status for more information on joining.
A few pilots in Pennsylvania wondered who the Angels were and why anyone would want to help other players. This sentiment is rather sad. There are nice people in the world and most especially here in Discovery.
Well, I had an interesting bit of a run today.
Good to stretch my wings again, although a jumpdrive might be a little more useful in the vacuum of space...
I ran into Martin_Elder directly off of Erie, and he was looking for someplace to mine other than behind Erie. Nice place, I think, but the blue does wear on your eyes a bit. Someone else mentioned Kansas and I thought, "Well, why not? It's all reddish and stuff there, it's a pretty system, and it makes you more money." He wanted to know where it was, so I took him on down to Kansas. It was an uneventful trip, and we mined the ore rather quickly. He seemed satisfied, but wanted to sell it for the most he could - so we headed back to Magellan, aiming for Newcastle. On the way, we passed Renard.Zokas, a nice Lane Hacker who bid us a cheery hello. From there, there was nothing doing until we hit Scarborough station, where we sold the Iridium. He ran out of available time there, I suppose, and informed me he was going to be taking a break and thanked me.
I'd received a message from BAF|Cdr.Austin.Goodmen, who needed me to help with an armour transfer from a fighter to a bomber. While I traveled back to Salisbury, I picked up a Percheron on Leeds. I've always been fond of the Bretonian physique, and found this transport to be a toothsome beastie. More toothsome than my old Mamoru, anyway - and I'd rather not be sporting a Kusarian ship any more, low fuel economy. So, that purchased, I made for Salisbury post-haste, passing BAF|Adm.James.Hobart on the way, who graciously allowed me to use the jumpgate before him. True gentleman. I'm not intimately familiar with the locations of Guard jumpholes within Bretonia, so I passed by New London while looking for the Salisbury hole and picked up a few thousand Server Rules to carry around with me.
I found Salisbury soon thereafter, and assisted Goodie with the armour transfer, giving him some complimentary Synth Paste and Server Rules. (Because we all know everyone prefers Synth paste.)
On my way back to Liberty - well, at Kensington, so barely starting back - Admiral Hobart asked me where I was taking the rulebooks. I didn't know, and he suggested I take them down to Corsair space.
Well, I did just that.
I flew down to Omicron Gamma, and left 750 or so individual units of rules floating there, and continued up to Omicron Minor, leaving hundreds more rules there as well. I talked to Order|Steve.Wilkins some about how they were actually religious pamphlets and they would save your soul from damnation. He grudgingly allowed me to continue my evangelic mission.
After Minor was sufficiently proselytized, I took the Trans-Alaskan thingamabob into New York, where I spread the good word in the form of pamphlets around Baltimore Shipyard, Manhattan, and West Point.
Back in Pennsylvania, I spread the latter end of my load of pamphlets around Philedelphia station, and traveled back to Erie. Nobody was in need of my further assistance, and I concluded my shift there, grabbing a hot chocolate and one of my few remaining pamphlets.
Ah, my first shift. Not alot happened and I think that that has alot to do with my time zone but oh well. I've been on for most of the day (ever since I was given my character) and nobody has asked me to do anything. So I took a trip to NY to get out of the Gallic ship I was given with the character. I think that in order to get any business I'll have to make myself well known. So once I exchanged the Gallic ship for a trusty old starflier I went about talking to everyone that I could find. I'm in Penn right now and when the server comes back up I'll take a trip down to Rhineland and then up to Kusari. I can see this is going to be fun and a great experience. Also I got a donation of 10 million credits from one OSC|Terra's.Calling
And now for the Afternoon Edit: I didn't end up taking my trip down to Rhineland because I was killed by a new person. I said hello to him but he just killed me, so I started to speak to him to tell him that his actions were wrong and then he called me a "nub". Oh well, that's a sanction I've got to fill out now. After that I went into New York and dealt with a few swearing incidents and that went pretty well. Then I decided to go to Dublin to check up on the Mining going on down there. On my journey I came across an Order gunboat being piloted by a merc with a BH iff. I alerted him to his mistake and he seemed to understand. Never the less I'll be checking that the problem get's fixed. And that's the end of my first day as an Angel.
And the night time edit: Ok, after my stunning failure during the day I tried my hand tonight and was pleasantly surprised. I found Ickis who is totally new from the Hamburg server. He was such a nice person and understood everything I said to him. I taught him the commands he needs, all of the necessary things he needs to know. I showed him the helium field and when he demonstrated that hey was awesome I helped him buy a Rhino. I then took him on the Boron/Refugees run and taught him about pirates and everything with the help of Canis Lupus (Rouge). Who also donated 15 million credits.
I have been trying to get proper hold of Sassafras over the past several weeks with no success. While I would still like to get in touch, I will post this here for your convenience.

Consider this my resignation from The Angels.
One in, one out.
Bear, welcome to the fold.
Eyvind, we will miss you.
Regardless, I am sure I will see you both out in space.:D
