1824. An emergency. I am requested to undock by my flight instructor to face whatever is heading Naha's way. After undocking from stationary Gas Miner Naha my scanners pick up a Universal Shipping transport under attack by a pirate just 3 clicks away from Naha, right next to the trade lane. 1825. Transport is already taking damage. I arrive on the spot, but it is already too late. The transport explodes right before Gas Miner Naha before initiating emergency docking procedures. Luckily Naha itself takes no colleteral damage. I engage the pirate, but to my surprise he avoids the fight and cruises into the deep nebula.
Universal convoy is destroyed pirate escapes
1827. After short refueling and maintainance on Naha I launch for my daily patrol. Sigma 13 is under a lot of traffic, but things seem to be in control. High Blood Dragons activity is hard not to notice and there is one emergency request broadcasting from the deep nebula. It soons goes off as the Blood Dragons leave.

I was on patrol at Naha, when I received reports that one of our transports, GMG|Tamachi.Hideki, was destroyed by an the terrorist "Mon'star" at Aomori. The vessel was not even christened, and it had been destroyed! I headed through the Jumphole to Sigma-19 and found him approaching Ogashawa, hunting down a Liberty Navy-tagged freelancer. Sum Yungai arrived from Honshu with his bomber. We decided the fiend's rampage would end with us. He would not get away with his onslaught!
The battle raged on for longer than I had anticipated. The gunmen on those turrets seem to be good marksmen. Eventually, the terrorist was forced to retreat
With that, I would like to recommend that Sum Yungai be promoted to Lieutenant. He is a very capable and cunning pilot, and quite knowledgeable of the enemy. I'm glad that I've had the opportunity to fly with him on multiple occasions.

Mai Suma, Tamachi Hideki, and myself were escorting the Abishiri to Planet Junyo to pick up exports and upgrade the vessel's shields. Things were mostly quiet through Kusari. That all changed when we got back to the Sigmas. We were headed to Luxury Liner Hawaii in Sigma-19, when our scout, Tamachi Hideki, reported multiple sightings at Ogashawa; Four, I repeat, four outcast destroyers! The Abishiri cruised for Hawaii, with us at the rear. The Outcasts did not pursue but they lingered at Gas Miner Ogashawa. When the Abishiri was safe, we called for all available GMG security pilots to rendezvous at the southernmost stationary miner. Sum Yungai, Daichi Hanako, and Naomi Asuka arrived in bombers to aid us. When we charged into battle, the fools fled to Omicron Beta and did not return.
Daichi Hanako broke off, but the rest of us proceeded to Sigma-13, where we took on Leonid Brejnev's Corsair Gunboat. Naomi Asuka and Tamachi Hideki fell in battle, but both fought well. After a few well placed Antimatter bursts from our bombers, we defeated the gaiijin.
Later, Captain Hoshi Tanaka of the Mikuma Maru organized a trade mission to Gran Canaria. Tamachi Hideki, Kako Shimakaze, and myself escorted the vessel. We picked up Plutonium and carried it through the deep Omegas.

Subject: Outcast Cruiser destroyed at Naha.
Priority: Low
It's good to be back in the Sigmas... almost. An Outcast Cruiser thought he could best my bomber right in front of Naha. The commander was so confident, that he simply yelled "die." After only a few minutes of my onslaught, he was begging a passing Outcast Falcatta for assistance. I routed both enemies.
I need to work my image capturing, but it was definitely an Outcast Destroyer.
I was contacted earlier today by Captain Hatsumi, who was shadowing a pirate IDed Corsair Gunboat by the callsign of Job. I rendezvoused with him at the Honshu jumpgate, as the vessel in question had jumped systems once he observed that he wasn't alone. This was the first of many displays of the most ridiculous amount of cowardice I have ever seen.
We pursued into Honshu, with Kasugai leading the charge. We came into contact with him again, ordering him to vacate the area, but instead he fired with no warning on my bomber, jumping back to Sigma-13 immediately. We, of course, jumped in after the pirate, and I demanded an explanation as to why I was fired upon. He expressed his clear disregard for my queries, and jumped yet again into Honshu. This was becoming ridiculous.
The increasingly irritating practice of making a u-turn after each jump continued for some time, and we decided early on to sit on either side of the gate, dealing as much damage as we could separately.
The idea began well enough, and I was able to drop the pirate's shields before he made the jump back into Honshu. I once again notified Kasugai that he was en route back to Honshu, hoping that he might be able to dispose of the pirate quickly before he knew what was coming. Unfortunately, Job recovered his shielding and was able to break through Hatsumi's dragnet, fleeing to the New Tokyo jumpgate. I joined him and we made our way after this troublemaker. There was no way he would get away with his disgrace towards the Guild.
Strangely enough, the bloke still had pirating on mind, holding up a trader at the New Tokyo gate.
Thankfully, this gave us time to make up the lost distance between us, and we quickly came in range with our pirate once more. Predictably enough, he dropped it all and fled through the New Tokyo jumpgate once he saw us coming. As there was no lawful presence overtly active within the system, we decided to give chase into New Tokyo.
We pursued him through the gate, and noticed he had taken off down a tradelane. Following behind, scanners abruptly showed his vessel coming in the opposite direction, and back towards the gate. Bloody hell! He jumped back to Honshu, we followed, he jumped back into New Tokyo, and Kasugai stayed on the Honshu side, taking up our previous tactic. My head was starting to throb from all of the jumpgate use, I cannot imagine how this can be good for you.
Back in New Tokyo, I attacked the hostile with everything I could, as fast as I could. I dropped his shields, and dealt a devastating blow to his hull before he could jump again. Due to his heavy damage, I stuck to him, following him back into Honshu. He hadn't a chance to escape this time, and after dropping his shields and dealing another powerful blow to his hull, Captain Hatsumi landed the finishing blow to the annoyance. Good riddance.
I'm docked for repairs on Yukawa Shipyard at the moment. Job had managed to land a few potshots on my bomber during his docking procedures, and it looked like a shot or two had made it past shields. On an slightly unrelated note, after tractoring in the remnants of the pirate's hold, I found an ONYX class prototype weapon in my cargo, with only low damage done to it. A few of the workers on the Yukawa are examining it now. It may be a good idea to store it on the armory vessel once it's in working order.
Completed three round trips between Lanzarote station and Planet Honshu. Abashiri came along on the second round, the trip was uneventful. On the third trip back, long range scanners picked up eight HAF blips in Omega-41. I believe they originated from Gamma. Engines at full in Omega-47, I took MikumaMaru to a undisclosed area and waited to trace their vector. My feelings were suggesting, it's the old cat and mouse game. Two ships in the pirate group jumped to Omega-47... I waited keeping my crew quiet and equipment at low EMF. I had the galley whip up hot coco for me and ordered the crew to shift and rest. If we are going to battle stations I want my people alert. After a bit of time the HAF rejoined in Omega-5, not sure if they cruised Omega-47, low sensor resolution.
At this point I figure they would have separated in search pattern if they were serious about hunting us, or they just couldnt think past their salamanca barrels. So taking a small risk we fired up the engines and bore through Omega-47 like no tomorrow. Once we arrived at the jump hole we checked LR scanners, they were still in Omage-5. Ok this is a reference to all transport Captains, at this point you either turn back or push on, why? Those Corsairs may not think past 600m however the Omega-5 JH is 10k out from the Omega-47 JH. Meaning if they are waiting for an ambush, all they do is jump in to Omega-41 once they see your ship drop in system. Luck for us we jumped in and cut through Omega-41 rock like a tree cat eating celery. I figure they were too busy looking at their trinkets and cockpit blings.

Re: Components to Naha
A couple of days ago we completed our routine hull repair on MikumaMaru at Planet Honshu. Given our next haul of plutonium containers were not released from the Safety Inspection Agency (SIA) and most likely not available for a few days. I decided to send a few crew members on much deserved 2 day holiday passes and then skip down to Naha with the remaining crew. Naha's procurement agent sent a comm desperately asking for part components and offered Skyblast turrets to replace my two old remaining transport pop guns on MikumaMaru's bow. We loaded up and cruised through Honshu without event.
Once at the Sigma-13 JG we swept the LR scanners just in case. My nav officer reported a single blip with an IFF named Job. I punched up our GMG database and bingo! Looks like our leader Hastings had a little run in with this clown. Hastings mentions, "This was the first of many displays of the most ridiculous amount of cowardice I have ever seen." Of course nothing is simple, not even a short run to Naha. So here I am with limited crew and not a single GMG escort in scanner range. What I didn't like is the LR scanners revealed a hull mass similar to Hastings report, a gunboat class vessel. So minimizing the risk I jump into Sigma-13 via the back door JH 15k out, figuring the typical lack of intelligence based on Hastings report. Sure enough I was correct, we cruised safely up within 10k of Naha then the scanners beamed a bogey named Job.
So right in front of Naha (within 1k) there sits a gunboat named Job pirating lawful transports. Watching the situation for a few minutes it seems he has Naha's turrets damaged, pirating a single small transport, and has two fleeing transports docked at Naha to boot. What I would have given for two bombers about right now... ok now he's coming straight at me. I offer a comm for him to clear out of Naha space, I get a mumbled reply, "this my spot at nana". Ok Hastings was right about ridiculous; I take MikumaMaru through the Chugoku JH and see if I can beat him at his own game. I wait for about five of the longest minutes and he never jumped to pursue... snap! I guess Hastings and Hatsumi taught him a lesson. So I order my helm to transition back to Sigma-13. A few seconds later after the Timshinko tunnel effect, theres Job back at Naha fishing for helpless transports. Now I am perturbed... I want those Skyblast turrets.
Then out of nowhere, an Outcast gunboat transitions from the TL at Naha station. The Outcast IFF was emitting Zamfir on a heavily armed Rogue gunboat. Normally this is a sure sign for transport skippers to clear out at full engines plus a prayer. However in this case, Zamfirs Captain started to question the pilot in Job on his true allegiance and how he acquired the Corsair gunboat. So I decided to watch this encounter from 8k and kept my cruise engines on full standby. After a few probing inquiries from Zamfir the pilot in Job fired his battle razer cannon and hit Zamfirs port side. The two gunboats engaged and ended up thrusting away from Naha as they tangled cannon fire. I acknowledged the gunboats position via comm to the stranded transports, they were away at full speed within minutes. After a few more minutes Zamfir destroyed the Corsair gunboat and cruised away like nothing out of the ordinary happened. He did mention something like, Teach you Corsair to offer offensive against me. Well lucky for my crew and MikumaMaru we enjoyed a nice landing and turret refit at Naha. Maybe some Outcasts have a residue of humanity after all.
Made routine patrols between the Sigma systems. All was mostly quiet other than a brief encounter with an Outcast Saber in Sigma 17. I gave pursuit and hailed him asking what his buisness was. He replied that he was Pirating Cryer Transports. I gave chase to him as he jumped into the Sigma 19 Jump hole. Once on the otherside I tailed him closely informing him that any unlawful actions I witness him attempting would prompt me to attack him in order to protect my Sigma Systems. He then left the sigmas after a few tense moments of my pursuit.
I ended patrols sometime later and returned to Naha.
When I arrived on Naha I was suprised to be greeted by my half Brother Sudoku Chichi, we were both adopted back on Honshu as children. I had informed him not long ago about my employment with the GMG and with him spending most of his life in the Kusari systems he was rather happy for me. He then informed me that he was on Naha with the intention of purchasing an old GMG Miner and outfit it as a transport. He has spend a good deal of his adult life on transports. This would be his first undertaking as a Capitain of his own ship having never owned his own before.
He showed me his newly purchased ship and raved about how great a condition it was in and how easily it could be modified into a transport. He was a little unhappy about the price feeling as though he over paid for a used ship but said that the conditions of the financing he received on the loan were outstanding. He and his crew will be on Naha for a few days preping the Miner for transport duties so hopefully I will get to spend sometime catching up with him. I'll sure he will bug me to help push some GMG Trade contracts his way.
