I just met Ashen Rose and Tesla's Revenge in NY on my siegie. I came from Alaska to try and get some rp with phantoms.
my 3rd meeting with phantoms. and again, a huge letdown.
I float around at 10k, and start rp. no response. I see em closing. knowing what happened last time ( 1 line of 'rp' then pew pew before I could say aything), I try to get more range between us by getting into a lane before typing more. disrupted by the 2 cruisers. completely valid reason to try and stop me from getting away.
but then I get AGAIN the same 'let's vaporise it' crap and I can't even type an engagement notice let alone rp before 2 cruisers start blowing me too pieces point blank.
guys, please. 2 cruisers vs 1 siegie who wants to rp and gets none but gets a facefull of plasma instead?
I understand you guys feel rushed sometimes. we'll call it Keeper syndrome. everyone wants to pile up on ya and blow ya to bits.
but now, no enemies in sight bar me. I deliberatly talk in local so that any loldreads won't 'hear' me and rush to my, ehr, 'aid'. (meaning: they wanna lulwut pwnzor Phantoms) and this is what I get. for god's sake. I expect this from lol Legates.
sorry to say, my first and 2nd meetings were no better. that makes my number of good Phantom encounters 0%.
now, get this clear: I'm not bitter for dying. people in the phantoms who know me are fully aware that I'm used to being killed. but not like this and certainly not by an official faction as this.
Turns out, it was a good call. A BC came along literally one minute after you went down. Opened up with nary a word. That's why we don't play with our food, particularly large capitals, on lanes. It wasn't a terribly enjoyable experience for me either, of course, you came at a rather bad time. Other cruiser had to leave and was starting to get annoyed at people coming along, etc. Still, no real excuse. Sorry for the way that went down. If you'd like to RP some, just hit me up some time and I'd be glad to give you some.
I appriciate the fast reply mate. but blowing away ships like that because you are in a rush is, like you say yourself, no excuse.
you have my sypathy for attracting lulwuts to ya, you really do. but if that means that every ship needs to be shot down within 30 seconds after 1 line of rp, you can count me out. I'll be honest. I never liked the phantoms. due to my earlier encounters which went down practically the same.
if you want to be big bad scary guys, sit 50k ove the plane where loldreads can't find you. that gives your 'food' a chance to rp. than be left with a sour aftertaste of mindless blue message hunting.
I don't like either how it was in New York with Ashen Rose and Tesla's Revenge. I really, really expected better from the Phantoms.
I might be cruel in my words, but it reflects what I saw : I haven't seen two roleplayers, I've seen two lolwuts in cruisers pewpewing everything in sight.
I expect to see something more developed coming from you two in the future.
Say the OPG (just an example) pirated you, then flipped out and killed you for now reason, within the rules though.
Would you have gone to bitch about it in their feedback?
I doubt you would have...
No offense, but people always seem to want to jump the gun and make us look like bad people (OORP that is), the Phantoms get hunted, so kills have to be quick and efficiant, not with a lengthy conversation about corruption, that comes spurting out when there aren't bigger fish hunting them a few K away...

Lets hope you don't feel like this next time.
I find the term 'bithing' being hurled around show that you have no respect whatsoever for feedback.
If I were 'bitching' I'd make up a thread in general discussion saying 'I hate Phantoms delete them nauz!'
I have the decensy not to. so I post a construtive reply here. and this is the mature respone I get. charming.
I don't hate factions by default mate. hell, hate is a big word anyway. but the phantoms have done nothing to make me think better of them. end of story.
this is a feedback thread. not a mud hurling competition. if you can't take feedback, call me names in skype behind my back or pm me. don't polute this topic. cheers.

nice rage.
I pointed out that the roleplay was not sufficient.
I'm not asking to spend 10 minutes talking about corruption or whatever you think my post is about, I am only asking for more than two small lines.
Trust me, it's not the first time I encouter the phantoms, and I had a few very good RP interactions with thems.
Also, in this matter it isn't piracy.
And if you're so upset that people complain about your lack of roleplay, let's just close this thread mate ! Yup, feedback isn't meant to be positive only.

But what makes Roleplay "Sufficient"? Frankly, I find that not talking for hours with a Siege Cruiser in a highly populated system is good Roleplay. Who knows what you could be doing? There is no incentive not to just zapp a Cruiser. It's a big threat, afterall, and the threat can only get bigger.
This seems to be a major misconception here, that Roleplay only equates to really big strings of words. Sometimes, Roleplay is shooting. So, we're sorry we thought so much about roleplay that it seems like we weren't. Really. There used to be an attitude which went "Oh, god, a Terrorist/Wilde/Keeper! Run/Call for help/! He's going to kill me!" and now it's "Look! A Terrorist/Wilde/Keeper! Lets hear it's life story/Talk about Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Whether or not Al Gore was a genius/Pokemon?/What is your favorite color!" Somehow, I think one of these is more realistic and is therefore more in Roleplay.
Now, after this I would like to kindly ask everyone to stay away from New York. It is full of presumptuous people who don't expect anything and therefore are disappointed all the time. Instead, go somewhere that isn't a center of misery and disappointment. Might I suggest the following:
Cortez
Magellen
Hudson
Bering
Galileo
Kepler
All of these systems get Liberty traders, only less "Phantom!? Lets cuddle!".
EDIT: Also, I suck at killing things. I have won maybe 1 fight in two months. If it's more in RP for me to fight than chat, though, this is what I'll do. I think I need to start logging my kill:death ratio so I can more adequately explain this.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Well, it's time for me to make an anti-Phantom /ragepost! Yay!
I was headed to Yanagi on my Junker Crow. I had just jumped into the system, and someone was yelling about souls in system chat. That person then said that they needed help, so I went to check out whatever they were having trouble with. The person was a Phantom. After complimenting my Character's eyes, he said something about hating Junkers and opened fire on me. He never responded to any of my questions.
I couldn't have killed him. I was in a fighter, a fighter with no razor, and he in a Corsair gunboat. So, why the need to kill me?
By the way, is the Phantom Empire Faction Status member list up-to date?

hours of rp is something different than just more than extremely meager/no rp. now you are just exacurating. again, I understand the rush Phantoms are in. like I said: a lot of players are out to get you.
but if a Legate pulled this in delta all hell would brake loose. I fail to see why Phantoms should then do this.
and now I suggest we drop it: it happened. to each his own view on the matter. let's not polute this thread with trial by forum. I welcome the next positive feedback.
