Please don't flame and make this situation worse.
Bottom line is that, by zelot's words (i'm sure he can point everyone to that topic) ZTC asked openly on forums what's with the event, and then they were told they cannot participate.
Then they kinda did. Sure, it takes a big man to actually say "ok" and let it all go, but Zelot's char Shepardi has every right to be mad. Question is only how mad will he get and how will this thing go.
If ZTC didn't ask on forum, and Zelot didn't tell them that the event is a private non zoner thing - then I'ld be mad at Zelot as well now.
Thing is that Zelot did spend his money, from his character's pocket in order to make it interesting for the Corsair allies.
--- But.
This is a game and mistakes are made. I am sure both sides are mature enough to give it a rest and play it out ingame.
As for Kuthumii - You're using pretty big and strong words there. Fueling the fire? Are you asking for an out of character and in character flames so you can just say "see, he was mad oorp and used that to get revenge"
I think Shepardi as a Corsair has every right to be pissed. $hit happened, let's make a interesting rp situation out of it.

Incorrect. They were not told they could not participate. They were told it was a Corsair event; they were not told it was a closed event. Here is the link to said post. You will notice that he said the following in regards to the event:
Quote: Its a corsair event, not a zoner one
That does not read: You are not to take part. That reads: Corsair event. So, please Ivan, quit with the lies.
Quote:Then they kinda did. Sure, it takes a big man to actually say "ok" and let it all go, but Zelot's char Shepardi has every right to be mad.
No he doesn't. This was an OoRP misunderstanding. Hence it cannot be brought into RP without Zelot powergaming. Which it is clear he intends to do.

Yet, he didn't tell them it was a private event, he simply told them it wasn't a Zoner event. The recent Zoner event, was a Zoner event, but wasn't Zoner exclusive. Perhaps Zelot should have been more clear in his announcement in that thread. That said, he didn't tell them it was private yet you are defending him. You are clearly going against your own words here.

ZTC has already been mature about it. From what I see they offered up most of the money they made but Zelot refused and wanted to bring it into RP, which is power gaming.

Yes, I am. No, I am not fueling the fire. Zelot is stepping over a line here. You are fueling the fire, you know it was a misunderstanding but you support his abuse of it.
He is mad OOC and he is seeking revenge in RP, hence power gaming. No, he doesn't have a right to be pissed and no I don't think it will be intresting RP because Zoners will be the oens ducking and covering and most of us are tired of it. It was a misunderstanding because Zelot wasn't clear and the event was implented poorly. Let it go as such.
As you said, $hit happened. Zelot needs to be mature about it and move on (That means no RP bull$hit), next time an event like this needs to be more clear as to who is invited and who is to sit on the side lines.
Some people make it too easy. Yea, I stopped caring about your opinion when you post things such as that. ZTC get over it, something happened in rp and is being handled there. That said, I am done here. Call me whatever you want, I know where I am coming from, and so do my men. You do to, you just dont like that it might mean that something bad happens to ZTC in character, and you dont like that so you complain out of character. Just to let you know, your doing this wrong.

You know - for once I don't actually feel bad about agreeing with blaming Zelot... :P
Now, for everyone else, calm down. Please. Otherwise you're liable to say things on here that you would regret - considering that this is, after all, a game that we play for fun and relaxation.

Oh, just a postscript, It is not actually "my" that is Zelot/Michael's birthday, although thanks for all the happy birthday messages, it is Miguel Sephardi's Birthday. Mine is in like a month and a half ( everyone get the gifts ready ) Dusty and I got to talking on a call one night after the Yukon event was over, and this is what we came up with. Sorry if confusion threw people off, but I am a firm believer in not ignoring things that happen in game, for any reason, if it happens in game, for me that makes it "in-rp" and I act accordingly, now, my hope is that this will lead to good rp, even if it's not the way the ZTC wants the rp to go...sometimes we dont write the script, the script writes us.
Hosting the event was not Zelot's responsiblity. He is a player, not a mod designer.
The developers, who are in charge of making rules and are the world builders of Discovery, should have explained (in-game) why there was no food available on the Freeports. As a game designer, you must make clear definitions regarding gameplay, particularly in a multiplayer environment. Zoner players discovered the "ERR Out of Stock" message because they were on their way to perform a regular "Feed Corsairs" event. What did you think was going to happen? That Zoners would not do what they do on a regular basis as part of cannon RP? (Food runs to Corsairs)
Instead of closing thread after thread, I would suggest making a statement to players regarding how Mod development mishaps like these will be handled in the future.

X. Thou shall respond reasonably and fairly to player actions.
The game must respond as the player expects (Food out of stock -- explaination at the Freeport is required)
The game world must be consistent (Zoners ship food to Crete as part of regular RP)
No unexplained deaths!
I highlighted excerpts from Tom Hall's text that apply to our situation.

It is Zelot's fault. Everyone knows that metagaming means "shooting Zoners" (I learned that definition via context, you see) and thus he'll be metagaming soon!!1!
Fine, if admins don't care whether this goes into RP even though it is a gross abuse of a misunderstanding so be it. However, I question why a high level Corsair such as Ivan wouldn't have been aware of the event, wouldn't have noticed ZTC bribing the commodity vendor, and wasn't informed upon landing on Crete that Zoners were not allowed to sell food to the vendor for the higher price. You executed the vendor for giving the Zoners a higher price, yet you did nothing to Ivan for letting it happen. There were Corsairs present in space that allowed ZTC to dock and sell their food, how is it that Corsairs defending the planet during the event didn't know that Zoner's should be selling food there at that time?
I agree, it could have lead to some decent RP but the fact that you, Zelot, immidiately blamed the ZTC and said they were robbing you is poor RP. It would have been better and more realistic for you to question your own men, Ivan and the HAF present, why they let ZTC make convoy after convoy to Crete. Once you took action on your own men, you could have informed ZTC that they were misinformed and that the higher price wasn't meant for them and it was your personal money. Then asked for 80/90% of it be given back to the Corsair Nation (Have to leave them some credits to cover the expense of moving it and such).
The way you went about it was to execute a non existant character and make up the charges of bribery. Then you cleared all of your own people under the guise that ZTC somehow fooled them........fooled a high level and extremely intelligent Corsair named Ivan. ZTC also somehow managed to fool the vessels defending Crete. All extremely unlikely but that is the route you took.
It was more likely that you (your character) failed to inform the proper people what was going on and ZTC did what they would normally do when Corsair's needed aid in the form of food; that is find a way to get it to Crete. Now, since Ivan and many many other Corsairs weren't aware of this; they too thought Crete was in danger and so helped ZTC. It would have been more realistic and better RP had you admitted your err to all involved and requested the ZTC give the extra money back, since it wasn't meant for them. If they did, better relations, if they didn't; escalate.
No, the script isn't always written by us, but in this case the script is being written by you and it isn't a very good script, bias also.
