Well, the USA server has been off grid for much of the day.. And now even the UK went down.. Whoever it is, is targetting all of the Discovery servers.. DAMN! I WANT TO PLAY!
' Wrote:everyplayer should be reiquired to sumit thier ip before loging into the server after the ip should be checked to ensure its not a proxy and then the accounts binded to that ip and banned if the account changes the ip so we don't have to worry about this kinda stuff
This would be a real pain in the hind parts for people like me who rarely stay in one place for very long. I spend a lot of time on the road and as such I use many, many IP addresses.
UK server was taken down because there was too much of a load on the server I think. That's what someone had mentioned before. USA server I have no idea.
' Wrote:I know this might sound like a really retarded question, but that is a proxy?
I'll assume you meant "what is a proxy?".
In this case, we're referring to an Anonymizing Proxy, which is a computer through which one can send and receive data. The effect of this, generally speaking, is to mask the IP of the one actually sending the data, since well-made anonymizing proxies will not reveal the IP of those using them. When we run a traceroute call, then, we should get only the location and IP of the proxy, rather than the approximate location and IP of the actual user.
You know what we should do? We should hold hands, get in a circle and sing.
Then the hacker, who's watching, will be all "They sing without Eagles! They sing without Fleas! They sing without New Yorks or Omega-3s!" And then his small heart will grow three sizes, and he'll race down Mount Crumpet on his sleigh and return Christmas to Whoville.
[optimism]Well, at least now I have time and reason to study more and finish my tests, other than work on RP stories and play Freelancer. >_> [/optimism]
Seriously, though, although I'm new around, I'll be more than willing to donate if needed. Btw, thanks for the info guys.

Ah, gotcha.
So after taking a break for about a year I've decided to get back in to Disco. So yeah.
