although at first glance solo mining can seem harder and as or less profitable than before, done at the right times of day with the right equipment can bring in yeilds of 3-5 times before the mining update (per hour). if a person intentionally only plays for the 10 hours less than 80 ppl r on for then they see very few pirates.
if they do happen to find one during there 5 runs during that time then 5-10 mil out of over 100 mil if they were 100% efficiant seems very minimal.( and for travel POV if u meet a pirate dont go that same route, and if u do dont use the tradelanes or use a hidden jump hole to getinto the system instead) use some common sense, and anyone complaining about the new mining mod is either a complete fool, or doesnt understand how to use it to there advantage. peace ivan and all else who displayed valued opinions in this thread. i hope this little rant makes any complainers think about there own methods atleast slightly. (btw now that the mining mod is here we need to fight to keep it, some changes may need to be made,"scrap for junkers", but in general it so far is a GOOD change)
Translate please anyone?:P

"Hey Ivan, good thread. However, I think you are being a little judgmental yourself.

Although at first glance solo mining can seem harder and equivalent in profit or less profitable than before, done at the right times of the day with the right equipment can bring in yields of 3-5 times before the mining update per hour.

If a person intentionally only plays for the 10 hours less than 80 people are on for then they see very few pirates. If they do happen to find a pirate during their five runs during that time then 5-10 million out of over 100 million if they were 100% efficient at mining seems rather minimal. (For travel, if you meet a pirate do not get the same way against, and if you do do not use the trade lanes or use a hidden jump hole to get into the system instead.)

Use some common sense, and anyone complaining about the new mining mod is either a complete fool, or does not understand how to use it to their advantage.

Peace Ivan and all else who displayed valued opinions in this thread. I hope this little rant makes any complainers think about their own methods at least slightly. (By the way, now that the mining mod is here we need to fight to keep it, some changes may need to be made, for instance scrap for junkers, but in general, it is a good change so far.)"

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

Totally bullcrap. Escorts are useless. I took down two traders with 2 fighters escort on my solo Red Hessian bomber before they killed me. And I'm not an ubzorskilled pilot.

Your escort will kill me on long term. But in short term, pirats will kill your transports/mining ship in 30 sec.

It's true, once they get the miner's shields down and have a decent bomber, they're cooked.

Put simply I decided to go make a Sabre with a Mini Razor...

I somehow ended up killing two Traders who were guarded by two Eagles and a IMG Gunboat at .84

Escorts are at best, a distraction. There is no easy and manageable way for them to prevent a Pirate from attacking a trader except through sheer and superior firepower.

But any good pirate like myself, can down and full on chase traders with nothing but a Mini Razor and the escorts cannot do jack.

Superior Firepower = Utter and Complete Capwhorage.

Enough said.

@kelt.

Escorts aren't there to kill you, they're there to CD you before you even come in range and then keep you away from the trader.

PEOPLE!
If you hold your finger on the thrust and strife left and right while heading towards a station, and a bomber is more than 0.5k away from you, you've won.

All escorts need to do is to CD spamm him and when you're at 1.5k from him, you can even cruise.
Just remember, if escorts are really stupid, you need to share that with them. You would share it with a waitress in a restaurant if you didn't get an order you wanted.

OK, Darth, seriously, enough with the calling every viewpoint that doesn't match your own "liberal". It's getting old.

And if I could find escorts, I would certainly avail myself of their services.

..."Escorts" as in "people to accompany my traders", not "escorts" as in... er... yeah.
