When it comes to piracy you hardly want to be using a Mini razor for anything aside from taking out escorts. Having 4+1 is much more useful for the Greyhound to suit its designed function, you shouldn't pick a ship like this for solo piracy, it just defeats the objectivity of ship selection. From past experience I have seen the Buccaneers use light fighters effectively in piracy endeavours, which are much much weaker than the Greyhound in that area. Ok perhaps 4 Class 10s suit better for piracy, but you may as well just use a different ship for piracy instead, one that would do a better job too.
I did some calculation too:
4+1 Setup with all weapons firing drains in a total 5.5 seconds.
4+1 Setup without the Deb firing drains in a total of 7.7 seconds.
4xCodes setup drains in a total of 10.4 seconds.
Did this by taking weapon drain minus Greyhound gen regeneration, then using the total Greyhound capacity divided by the total drain.
That's an extra 30,000 potential damage there, if Marvin's DPS for x4 codenames is accurate. Not everyone can aim 600m/s weapons, I know, but for combat and piracy that's a great boost. Problem is, you're all stuck in the mindset that the Greyhound isn't designed for piracy, therefore it should not be able to preform in piracy regardless of the skill of the pilot. The Greyhound never will be a decent piracy ship, I'm not asking it to be either, but the ship seems to have unnecessary limitations placed on it.
There isn't that much limitation to the ship. It -can- perform well in group piracy (with or without a MR), it can perform well in a dogfight. It is admittedly worse at pirating than Barghest or Werewolf, but then again, so is every other ship in their class. It will perform poorly at SOLO piracy ... but that's OK by me.
Please, try it before you pass judgement what it can or can't do. It's nice that you know what it was like before, but it went through a complex change. You can't hope to guess what it's like now.

If you don't have anything constructive to say, please don't post. We're trying to have a serious discussion here.

I'll try the new turning when I get my internet and computer fixed. It's not like I haven't flown it yet by choice. Until then, what I'm arguing doesn't require testing, because I do know the difference between sammaels and codenames, and I do know the difference between 4/0 and 5/1. I said a few posts back that I don't have a problem with the changes to the Greyhound's turning stats, the problem is the reduction in fire-power on a ship that was already sorely lacking it.
Really, battering on about how the Greyhound should be able to do everything isn't constructive either, unless you suggest all fighters including light fighters should be able to take down a transport with ease. If it's not suited for the job, simple don't use it. Sure people can try, and people do, as I said the Buccaneers pirate with Light Fighters. Use groups and don't use a misfit for a solo operation.
The problem is, Enko, that the Greyhound is NOT a LF.
It's a Heavy Fighter that's been mangled into a pseudo-LF.

I know what the ship is, I have flown it indeed. I use Light fighters as an example case, that people DO use them for the same effect, where as the complaints here are for a fighter of stronger firepower. I do not quite see the issue with using an alternative ship for piracy if you happen to use a full group of Greyhounds. The issue being here is that if the Greyhound could do everything then what is the need for something such as the Werewolf?
The Werewolf has a very nice niche use, as it's the only VHF I know of to have a CD AND a CD/T. It's perfect for solo piracy, whereas a Grey can only effectively pirate if you sacrifice the CD for a Mini or an Inferno.
