I see there are many people angry at indie pirates and such.
I have been pirated few times and I must say those who didn`t RP and just killed me get on my nerves, but ones who can RP can make your trip actually fun.
But anyway stop being angry at pirates and just get your self an escort. I never came across anyone who has escort.
So is there any among you who actually hires people for escort ?
( I did for myself couple of times and it`s fun and it works if you have skillful person next to you ! )
Well If you came to pirate me and I have escorts (in RP pirate you would run or not try to pirate) well OORP you would kill me to get satisfied and then get yourself killed. So every good RPer "should" act in RP way not just talk. So look at this from RP side. (or from OORP;)And I can still pick up my cargo when I come back right ? )
EDIT: And from OORP side I can always see if there is a pirate in system and send my escort first) and from RP side I can send escort first to check out the situation... so escorts rules if you ask me

Not necessarily, an experienced pirate probably wouldn't bother running because he's been in the situation a thousand times and he know how to handle it.
Its true, Mind you, an escort does help as well, they can prove as a distraction to let you get out of CD range.
But, yeah, I have a character specifically set up for paying escorts.

Ill make sure your ship dies faster than the escorts kill me.
It's not hard to do, see the "VHFs cant Kill Bombers fast enough" thread
When even two of those escorts come out of the lane scouting ahead, you're kinda screwed if they know what they're doing. Trader sits back or takes a long way around, or waits for you to be distracted with two fighters on your tail. They just gotta hold you until the lane comes up and as long as they keep the pirate busy enough that he's not thinking about taking out the lane or pirating. Then they win, you lose. Easy enough. Of course, at that point, if the escorts decide to move on once their trader is past, does that count as fleeing and they can't come back as long as the pirate is there?
