I've only done a little shift today as I'm about to start putting my new computer together. As soon as I got on I dealt with OORP chatter in system chat, after that I found a trader without an ID and dealt with that. I then got a PM from an old customer that I helped in my very first days at this. He had another problem with rules and what he had encountered from people that he had pirated. I explained to him all that he wanted to know and yet again he was very pleased. Sorry for such a short shift, I'll do a larger one tomorrow or tonight if I'm lucky.
Ok, after I saw that new Angels were coming I decided to get back on and see if they were ok. I met Kaz and saw if he was ok and because I was getting snowed under with requests for help I got him to help one of my customers. I met an old friend who I still had to show a trade route to. So I did that and then went to Penn after a request to stop the "static" there.
First day, first shift. I'll pull another shift after I return from a previous commitment.
Helped a new guy who wanted a Freelancer ID'd Kusari Gunboat with Rheinland guns. I pointed out to him how it was OORP and such, pointed him towards the forums, and gave him some advice. Grabbed a Griffin at Freeport 2, where Bear PM'd me to help a KoF guy with his issue. KoF guy asked me if I could straighten a few things out with Pikmen, a new-ish pirate. He told me what was going on, I asked if he was on the forums, he said yes and he had read the rules, so I explained to him about the whole "2mrdai is not RP" concept and said he should read the rules again in detail, as well as clearing a few details with sanctions up (don't shout "I will sanction you" etc.). The guy thanked me for helping him, and I sent him on his way.
I'm currently docked at Houston after returning from Bering. I'll be heading back to New York in an hour and a bit to continue working, if that's okay.
Having fun being an Angel so far! Helping people is really fun.

EDIT: Well, helped another guy. Same person Angel Kiori taught to mine. Helped him with IDs and IFFs.
Also my first day on the job, i grabbed a Starblazier in Penns and went right back to the planet and waited for new players, asking a few if they would like help. Most people would always so no. i realized they where all talking in system chat so i taught them how to use the local chat and what it does.
I first helped a Gull tranport Captin and a Liberty transport captin (not adding there names). asked me about the rules about dieing in PvP if it was ok for them to stay in that system. i explained to them that a trader could pass through the system which they have died in but they may not engage any one unless in self defence and advised them to not trade for long in that system.
i also met a rhino mining and the same liberty transport and taught them dustys way of mining which acturally seems to work better. the rhino pilot also asked me what fighter they should buy, i recommended they wait till they get a better trader/miner and to use a differnt charracter using the /givecash command to transfer money. the rhino pilot was very thankful.
all of the people i helped and a LNS gunboat had many good things to say about the angels.
i hope for my next shift to help someone join a faction, also to change there IFF since most people have the "police" IFF.
i did another shift-thing again a few minutes ago for about a hour. quickly i found out being a Angel is very hard work, even though i am up for the job. Its a little scary when a Zoner Juggarnaught starts talking in abriviations by saying m8 instead of mate. i corrected him even though he replied back i can use any abbrivations i want ( a little rude i belive ) it seemed he stopped using text talk after that.
i heard there was a big fight in the california so i went over there to watch and correct people who didn't do engagment messages or fightings rules, im glad i did since a liberty cruiser came into the fight guns blazing at two outcast fighters, he listened and we had a very nice conversation and he asked a few questions about the rules and what ships can engage what, he was extremely kind and even role played with fighters that passed while talking to me in PM's. He Thanked me when he had asked all his questions.
the other ship that was in the fight refused to leave after she had fled through the jump gate the fight was by, she says it was a accendent, i belived her on that but she still refused to leave, When the pirates fled she was still refusing that she broke a rule even though i explained you can not re-engage after fleeing because fleeing counts as a PvP death. she kept on dening the fact till JihadJoe showed up and correct her. I kinda take this as a failure on my part but i guess it can't be helped.
Last a Smuggler had some questions about the use of Japanese and other languages while being used in role play, because the rules say you must use understandable english. I didn't know the answer to this one because this one also confused me, after asking on the Angels chat room i told the trader that it was ok to use phrases that almost every one understands with englsih like "Konnichiwa" and "Arigoto", But not long phrases "Genki Desu Ka?". or like my favorite phrase "Anata no onaka no naka ni neko ga imasu ka?"...i leave it to you to figure that out.....
The Smuggler/trader asked me about Iff's and ship ids a little more but she had all the right answers when she told me what she thought they where.
Im getting off my angel for a while now, i will probally get back on tomarrow or later tongiht
I should mention that I have been online helping people yesterday for about 1 Hour and 45 Minutes after I have created my Rhino.
First thing I did was explaining a Person without an ID how to use the IDs and why they are so important. Wasnt that hard. A bit later I got some help from Shadow and together we have been helping a few more people. We tried to talk to obviously russian People, but I guess they werent understanding us.
Some others were asking for Mining Abilities, I told them about the Iridium Field in Kansas and the Copper Ore Field in Colorado and where they should sell it. Also the advise to hire Escorts. Soon there was a big crowd of People at Pennsylvania and it somehow went wrong. It was damn confusing there ad I ended up being killed by a Guy in a CSV. I told him to stop until Hoodlum took care of him, because he didnt stop. Shadow wasnt really able to help me with some Stuff due to Lags, but it all went well.
I hope I can get my ID and IFF soon, will definatly help more People tomorrow.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"
I did an afternoon shift today. Absolutely nothing was happening so I found a random Kishiro transport and stalked it to Okinawa from New York telling it of my un-dieing love for it. It was some great RP and because NY and Penn were quiet I thought I'd treat myself to a little fun. After that I was contacted by an old customer who asked about a few problems such as codename guns and other such matters. Not alot happened on the shift (hence the small post) so next shift I hope something challenging will happen.
EDIT: Great to see you enjoying yourselves Schlubri and Kiori
You know... I just wanted to take a moment out to say that I think the Angels, rawk! When I first came to disco nearly two years ago, it was the Angels among others who took time to help me out. That set the tone for me and I realized that it has made all the difference in the world. I am no Angel, to be sure, but the example they have led by, has influenced how I see and deal with new folks on the server. So kudos to the Angels and all of the rest of you, undercover angels out there.
