The massive explosion was felt throughout the entire ship. Akane lost her footing on the weapons console as well as her grip on the sword. The blade spun in mid-air barely missing Akane, instead cutting through her clothing straight down the middle.
Akane quickly grabbed the blade by the hilt before realizing what just happened to her outfit. She screamed.
The scream could be heard well down the corridors deeper in the ship, audible enough for the Audio pickups on the Robots to detect. One of them, closest to the location, tracked down the source of the scream, making a beeline toward the area while the other robots continued to search the aft sections of the ship.
The Overseer on the command freighter was aware of this too, and returned to his post. Switching from the Robot's thermal optics to a high-definition camera, and activating a floodlight, he took manual control of the head-mounted display, swiveling it in various directions, checking every corner for possible lifesigns.
Suddenly a bright light filled the otherwise dimly-lit bridge. Instinctively Akane held up the blade to the bright light, deflecting a narrow beam of light back at it.
Her eyes adjusted to the light surprisingly quickly. The source of the light was a rather large and well armored mech. Quite impressive for a boarding party and...wait., what that thing leering at her? And there was a camera visible on it!
I bet whoever's operating that thing is staring at me! Pervert! Thinking this to herself, Akane pushed herself off the wall and lunged at the camera with the sword, shattering it with a well-aimed thrust. Reacting quickly, Akane drew her blade out from within the camera and swung it around at the robot itself.
Clonk. The blade hit the robot's armor uselessly, only succeeding in making a small dent. Sparks began to fly out of the mech's right arm, and Akane pushed herself off and away from the robot just in time to avoid an electrical blast from the arm.
Kaze pushed herself from the wall and attacked the robot. Flying to it's direction, she shouted at her.. not so prisoner..
"I'll be the bait, you try and find a weak spot on this thing!"
Kaze swished her blade at the right arm, to keep his weapon off aim.
Another clonk was heard, and Akane jumped to the ceiling turning herself upside down.
She was feeling better, becoming faster. A sense of euphoria started to invade her mind. She attacked the head of the big pile of metal. Clonk.
She screamed in rage again. With her outfit shreaded, the little dignity she had, left when she saw Kaze oggling her while dodging the blast from the robot.
One's level of Cybernetic augmentation failed to stop a nosebleed nor 'excitement' of the surprise of two half-naked women, something the Consortium operator never expected (but had always secretly hoped for). Sadly, the camera-feed was cut shortly thereafter. The robot, however, was still functional, capable of tracking targets via it's internal thermal sensors and radar in it's armored chest cavity.
The robot stepped back with it's magnetic feet, firing another wrist-mounted electrolaser pulse at the women floating about. However, these were both skilled opponants, dodging and moving faster then the robots' servos were designed to compensate for, and at awkward angles. The robot switched from it's electrolaser, and fired another energy-based projectile from it's other arm, with a similar effect to a flashbang grenade, as the operator desperately tried to move another robot with a still-functional camera in.
"OWWW!" The flashbang cannon manage to nick Akane's already-injured leg. That leg was useless before, but now it really stings something fierce.
Clearly just chopping away at this thing won't work. Then Akane notices the exhaust vents on the robot, which gave her an idea. Thrusting her blade into the vent, Akane succeeded in poking a hole in it, only to be sprayed with hot exhaust fumes upon drawing the blade out.
"Clonk, clonk, clonck." Kaze swiped with fury her katana at the mech. As another electrical charge came, she jumped and stood on it's arm. She aimed at the head when she heard Akane calling for something.
"Clonk..me..Bzzt..grenade!" Akane tried to say in the middle of the whole ruckus.
Kaze jumped from the mech and removed a small concussion grenade from her pocket. She threw it at Akane's position and when she looked at the robot, the whole left arm was pointing at her and it suddenly released another flashbang. Straight at her.
Akane caught the grenade just as the robot scored a direct hit on Kage. Wasting no time, Akane armed the grenade, pushed off from the ceiling, and placed the explosive within the hole that was once an exhaust vent.
Grabbing the now-stunned Kage by the chest, Akane proceeded down the hallway, using Kage as a shield against the robot's weapons.
Kaze tried to shake the shocked feeling from her eyes. She was sensing she was being carried. Feeling still the katana in her hands she was about to push who was carrying her, but suddenly a great bang was heard.
"What the-?" She thought. And then the recent memories jumbled into her mind, the grenade, the robot, Akane. She suddenly grabbed one the arms of who was carrying her and jumped away.
"Who's there?" She asked, obviously still somewhat blind and unable to see in the dark.
"It's me, Akane, your she-devil."
The moment of heartfelt confusion was short lived though, interrupted by the loud "whomp" as the Grenade detonated inside of the Consortium robot, causing it's head to pop clean off. While the rest of the machine remained mostly structurally intact, the destruction of it's internals effectively killed it.
Some pieces of shrapnel flew dangerously close to Akane and Kaze, a few pieces nicking their already torn clothing, but fortunately did no real damage. The robot now floated helplessly as it's magnetic feet de-activated and it's engine was destroyed.
There were, however, three more Robots. The Operator on the Consortium ship now manually directing one, remaining as stealthy as possible, hoping to spy on the women rather then engage them directly. The remaining robots still sweeping through the ship, attempting to access it's computer systems, and shut down it's self-destruct system.
