Yuka watches the visual feed of Avi.

"It seems you are finally showing me some progress"

She supresses a yawn and streches, she just got back from a long exhausting flight and hoped to get to bad soon.

"Well if that is all, i'm going to my room."

Yuka stands up and walks to the door, when she passes the book shelf she pushes the first book, making them all fall of the shelf.

*giggles*

"I just couldn't resist."

She walks out of Seiji's room.

Next day...

"Let's hope it works..." Seiji typed a password on the main computer and AvI's logo is showed on the screen while a female voice sounded.

"Executing primary parameters... Done. Organic life detected, initiating biometric scans... Done: Greetings, Seiji Akimoto."

"Konnichiwa! I'm going to revise your last configuration..." He takes his datapad and kept reading during one minute.

"Good! Now open your parameter list file, I'll show it to Yuka-sama..."

"That information contains all the guidelines for my behavior, if it falls in the wrong hands this module could be easily attacked"

"AvI! Are you opposing to my request? Seems the last upgrade is working! Ha-ha!... But please, open that file, we're not in danger here"

"It just was an advice, I'll upload your request"



Then, Seiji called for Yuka again.

"Konnichiwa Yuka-sama, I've finally finished the worst part of an AI programming... Now AvI can think on itself!"

"Initiating biometric scans... Done: Greetings, Yuka Kaizoku. Please, don't try pushing books of that self again..."

"OK AvI, that's enough! As you see, AvI has developed its own mind, describes anything about the enviroment where it's on, makes low-grade deliberations... Now we don't need to tell what parameters must it follow, it just will execute those according to the situation, of course, in favor of any Kaizoku Gang members, so don't worry... AvI won't go crazy... What do you think?"

Yuka looks at the file Seiji sent her. She was somehow startled when the program talked to her but quikly regained her confidense.

"Konbanwa Avi... I suggest you respect the people who... uhm... paid for you."

"As for you Seiji-kun... I didn't pay you to create something that disrespects me."

She looks up from the screen and appears to be looking at something in front of her. Then she looks at the screen again.

"I'm closing in on the Magellan Jumphole. I'll be on base in approximatly 20 minutes."

"Mistress Yuka Kaizoku OUT!"

She accentuates "Mistress" to make it clear to Avi who's in charge.

After spending the whole day making combat simulations with Avi, Seiji went back to Barrier Gate to finish the next part of the definitive report.

"Avi, upload to my datapad your last combat simulation reports"

"Uploading data, remember to enable administrator mode"

"I know hwat I have to do, Avi! You really like giving tips, huh?"

"That is integrated on my standard protocols, Seiji Akimoto"

The main hud on the datapad showed the last target of the simulation:


"The integration process on the antimatter cannon was successful. This module is able to engage a fighter on standard conditions. End of report"

"Perfect! I'll tell about it to Yuka-sama"

After contacting Yuka, she went to Seiji's room one hour later.

"Konnichiwa, Yuka-sama... Are you OK? Seems you haven't slept this night... Anyways, look at this..."

Seiji gave the datapad to Yuka.

"At this part, we can start considering about... making Avi autonomous at all, I mean, getting a new ship so Avi can integrate on it and fly on space... It would be awesome, we could use Avi as a recon vessel! What do you think?"

Yuka peers at the screen and closes her eyes again. With a quiet voice she says:

"Fine by my Seiji-kun... You know what to do..."

She stands up and has trouble keeping her balance

"I'm heading back to my room... I need to lay down."

*mumbles*

"I got a terrible hangover"

"Avi, run the comms devide, I need to send a message to Yuka-sama"

"Locating nearest communications buoy... Done. Voice recording is enabled."

"Thank you Avi... *clears his throat* Konnichiwa Yuka-sama, I've already ordered some parts of the future Avi's drone... Titanium and americium alloy... Isn't awesome? But that's not the reason I'm sending this message... I need another place to build the drone, you know Barrier Gate is full of curious people... and it isn't good for us. So, I just need you to tell me a safe and quiet place to build the drone. That's all. Seiji out" *static*

Suprisingly it isn't Yuka who answers the message, but Yuki Kaizoku, Yuka's younger sister.

"Konbanwa Seiji-kun, Nee-sama is currently unavailable."

"You can use our hangar here on barrier, it is safe and secure so you won't get disturbed."

"Please excuse me, I need to go check on Nee-sama."

"Phew... Let's take a break... Avi, send a report with our progress done with this little boy"

"Locating nearest communications buoy... Done. Voice recording is enabled"

"Konnichiwa Yuka-sama, last time Yuki-san said you weren't available, I hope you can hear this message now... I've been working on the drone in your private hangar... It's very quiet, I really like this place. Well, the main core of the drone is almost completed. I've added a small cargo bay too. Tomorrow I'll start with the engines, so I hope that the drone would be finished in... 2 days if the reprogramming doesn't give me problems... If you want to come here and see, I'll be around here for two hours. Sayonara, Seiji out *static*"

Yuka is laying on the couch on her yacht when she received Seiji's transmission. She enables her own video feed and sits up. She hasn't left her yacht for days, she looks tired, her hair is a mess and her eyeliner marked a black shade of tears on her cheeks. Next to her 2 empty bottles of wine are laying on the couch.

With a hoarse voice she answers Seiji.

"Konbanwa... Seiji-kun."

"I see... *yawns* ... that the project is getting along just fine..."

"I trust you to use a good engine for this one? Not just some destined to fail crap from Liberty."

" I will walk by the hangar one of the days..."

She picks up a remote from the couch and points it at the screen, without saying another word she ends the transmission.

Seiji wiped the sweat of his forehead and looked at the drone.

" *Sighs* Finally... It's completed... Avi, what do you think about it? Isn't beautiful?"

"I can't make such judgments, Seiji Akimoto, I know the meaning of the concept 'beauty', but I can't experience it"

" *Chuckles* Nevermind... I'm gonna call Yuka-sama to see this... but maybe you should try to integrate now on all the drone systems, so you can run diagnostics and find any errors on the software... I'm setting up the drone energy..."

Seiji walked in front of the drone, next to the hangar main computer. He typed some codes and a wire was connected to the drone control panel, under the hull.

"All primary systems are online, Avi, do it now!"

The drone's lights were switched on and the engine started to make noise.

"Running parameter 9... Done. Physical module core integration completed... Running memory diagnostic..."

"Phew... It works... Avi, can you access to the backup database from here...?"

Suddenly, all lights went off. But Seiji could see the drone lights on.

"Avi!? What happened here?" He switched on a flashlight and tried to turn on the computer.

"There was a fatal error while running diag-*unintelligible* core data. EMP depl-*unintelligible*... Running paramet-*unintelligible* Restarting modu-*unintelligible*"

Seiji ran to the control panel under the drone's hull, where the wire was connected, and opened the console to type some codes again.

"I hope Avi hasn't messed up the drone's software..."

The hangar lights went on again.

"Module restarted, the restauration process is completed, waiting for new guidelines."

"Oh Avi! I was reeeally scared! How many errors did you find?"

"No errors, Seiji Akimoto, this physical module 100% online -*unintelligible*"

"Really? Well, run the engines test... I'll call Yuka-sama, she would be glad to see we will have a new Kaizoku vessel"
